Yea, it makes sense for him going back to the Athletic.

He has too many ties to the Eagles and Philadelphia that it would be hard to see him move to another team completely.

HUGE loss for PHLY. Zach being gone is bad enough, but I feel like Bo without Zach to reign him in could be less than stellar. I know some people around here love him but I also find Fran boring and annoying.

I've read this 20 times and still have no idea what I'm looking at or what they are describing.

I hope EJ knows what he’s getting himself into. Every time someone leaves PHLY it always seems like they feel so relieved. Not that it’s a bad company to work for in terms of the people. But they have this insane mandated schedule of 5 podcasts per week plus emergency or game day postgame podcasts sometimes on weekends or doubling up on the same day. Then they have to drive into this studio that I believe is basically like a rented out floor on a run down office building somewhere in south Philly.

Jon Marks only worked there for a year and within a couple weeks of working there he was railing on how much of a piece of crap the building is. He said the elevator doesn’t work and is all ratty. There’s no air conditioning. Birds are flying into the windows. A few time light fixtures fell from the ceiling during shows. Having to drive into that everyday must be exhausting and I get the sense some people tire of that and during the offseasons having to do forced podcasts for weeks on end when absolutely nothing is happening.

I feel for the Sixers guys. The Sixers have done nothing all offseason they’ve had to do daily podcasts for weeks about absolutely nothing and will continue to have to until late October. It must be so exhausting. Jon Marks looked so relieved to leave there. As did a few others. Berman will never say it because he’s a classy guy but I bet he couldn’t wait to go back to just writing and spending more time at home instead of commuting daily to a **** building.

Shedeur-Gets a start in a preseason game because of injuries and does this.

He backs it up.

Unlike someone I knew.

Let's just say that none of the CBs on the roster are really the answer at the starting CB spot. Eagles roll woth them anyone in the season. How soon into the stadium of them being a liability does Roseman make a move?

They have great WRs and Dak traditionally lights us up but we didnt get to see him against last yeara revamped defense. If we lose to Dallas it means that was a nuclear issue and of the offense was too slow out the gate to keep up with it fully.

I don't see that happening though. I dont think we lose to KC even though everything about that game says we should. I think the 12 hour travel back to the US hurts them like it did us and the Packers, especially since we get the extra day of rest. Rams, Stafford might not even playing by the woth his back unless that is all smoke by the Rams to play possum early in the season even though they are the 2nd best NFC team.

After the Bucs or Broncos game will be when it finally screws us enough that Howie will make a trade in early October from some team that is with 4 or 5 losses but an expiring starting CB.

I think we come out a lot stronger than people expect and only have 1-2 losses at that point. Howie moves to address what would be a clear issue on an otherwise well running machine.

I also think we sign Justin Simmons shortly before or after the final preseason game if Makuba doesn't come back soon and win the job with Sydney Brown banged up. I though Symdey was the only on that looked alive in that early defense. Too bad he got injured. 9 think Simmons will likely be like Byard when we sign him and may end he is replaced by Makuba mid-season.

Wow, that was a nice performance by Shedeur. He looked comfortable about there. Defense better tighten up for next week. I can't believe I'm watching preseason this much, lol. Joint practices with the Browns this week.

Not the right pigment

I rewatched the game and decided to focus on Uche’s snaps. I don’t think he’s was that bad at all. Drew a penalty, generated a couple of pressures. He often lined up over the tight end and had to deal with an extra blocker, so he didn’t face true 1 on 1s. They had an interesting front where he and Ojulari lined up on the same side and Uche bull rushed on the interior and appeared to confuse the guard, leading to a pressure by Ojulari. Against the run, he seemed OK, although he wasn’t really challenged.

Never seen a player "arrive" after 1 preseason game.

Happy for Sheduer and hope he continues to do well but his fans are annoying. Reminds me of Caitlin Clark fans.

That's unfair. Caitlin has accomplished way more than Shedeur.

Infamous gif. Shows the difference in mentality. McNabb who acting oddly in the face of extreme pressure because it has been such a hill for him to climb his entire career. Post-Prison Vick, PPV, serious, calm and focused like Jalen. The biggest What If of the NFL is if it all somehow worked out that Reid and the Eagles ended up with Vick as a rookie and how Vick's career would have played out with that coaching from the start. Who knows if Reid could turn the mentality and focus without prison or if prison but who knows.

Maybe prison was necessary for Vick and the perfect storm was ending up with Andy and the Eagles at that point in time with the team long planning to move on from McNabb (Kolb). I still think Vick with steady great coaching to start his career and throughout could have been amazing even without the maturity to start but the coaching might have been able to develop that. Most talented player to ever play QB from a physical athletic standpoint.

Jalen Hurts who will ultimately go down as one of the best, if not the best QB of his generation and will go into the HoF and best Eagles QB ever (already is), you take his mind and mentality and stick it in Vick's body and that's the greatest QB ever. More than few people you could say that for. Brady, Mahomes, Peyton.

They were sitting on 7 points late in the 2nd quarter, against one of the league’s worst teams, and their 7 points came on a TD drive of about 6 yards after a muffed punt.

Yay …… ??

I'm not trolling. I'm just reminiscing in the late hours of a Friday night while certifiably intoxicated.

Do you not deny that you stick any of those QBs in Vick's body that they aren't the GOAT? Brady already is and Mahomes might still be but even then they might have been even better in Vick's body. Brady losing his height who knows and he wouldn't have been drafted late which created his ultimate drive and revenge villain arc.

There's definitely a subsection of Packets fans who would want McKee over Love. I'm not saying they're right, but IMO sports journalists seem to be much higher on Love than the "average" NFL fan.

Your prior post did show significant evidence of Demon Rum.

Since you are engaged, take a look at this montage of McKee’s passes last night. There is a very interesting consistency in every one of the pass plays. It surprised me to be honest, but it may tell us a lot about how Patullo will be calling the Offensive plays. Rather than spoiling it, I’ll look forward to hearing what you saw when you looked at it. We can jump in and continue the conversation then.

You're coming at me with McKee highlights as if I haven't been a huge fan of him since he lit up preseason as a rookie. I was bashing the Eagles for Mariota being the #2 for his contract even though rookie McKee was obviously better. I criticized the Eagles immediately for wasting drat capital on Pickett when McKee was already obviously better. Even after that Redskins game that Hurts went out in I was screaming for McKee to come in. We would have won, yet fans here continued to defend Pickett and stand in place of him instead of McKee. They got louder as that joke Cowboys game played out and Pickett played well beyond his mistakes like the glue had throwing fumble. But McKee came in and threw like 3 TDs in 5 passes and then the next week started and tore apart the Giants and then suddenly others started to see he was better than Pickett. Him lighting it up this preseason is just expected by me. I'm a huge Pickett fan. We need to keep him this year. If Hurts stays healthy and McKee doesn't get much of a chance besides week 18 with backups then they need to absolutely try to re-sign him to a multiyear extension even with one year left on his contract to see if he would do it. Otherwise Hurts misses some games this year and McKee gets to play he will show he can be at the worst a top 15 QB but likely top 10 in the league and the Eagles will get some sort of package including at least a 1st next offseason.

This franchise has a history of flipping QBs, especially including backups for some good value. Foles they should have after the Super Bowl. Cleveland was offering a high 2nd round draft pick. I think the Eagles were overly cautious with Wentz coming back from his injury and purposely held him out to start the season to see if Foles would run with the job. That just messed with his psyche which we found out was on thin ice. Something we should have found out when he had lives on his neck during Super Bowl week. Didn't see those again until Jalen came around and him being drafted in the 2nd round killed him but then Jalen dressing and getting snaps in week 2 against the Rams fully sent Wentz on his down spiral. Although it can be drafted Wentz's interception week 1 at the end of the half against the Redskins started his spiral. Already feeling the pressure of a non-dressed Hurts. At his first mistake Wentz unraveled and he was never the same the rest of his career. People forget that but he was great, classic Wentz that whole first half until a bad interception and then it was just downhill from there the rest of the season, and his career. Wild, but if we do get the godfather offer and trade McKee for a 1st+ package before next offseason then Wentz would be the perfect free agent market QB to go after for backup.

He was really peak Wentz that first half until the interception. Tearing it up. Then his entire career unraveled.

Hightower. Knew from the front he was awful and Quez was better. Little did I know that Quez was the level of bad to fumble a perfect season away and drop a Super Bowl deep ball late that played a role in them losing the game.
