Both Fletcher Cox and Ndamukong Suh were at practice today and it was noted that Carter dominated practice in a way that he never has before. It sounds like he put on a show because those two guys were watching. I think there's a next level in Carters game that can be reached...if he wants.

All we need is for Cox and Suh to attend every game, home and away.

Is he even giving his fulll effort? He seemed disinterested during the game. I'm really wondering where he is mentally.

Ringo is a STer who possibly could end up a decent CB if he’s never left on an island. They really shouldn’t have left what’s his face go to the Vikings

I can’t imagine Kellen Moore didn’t try and pitch the Saints FO to go get McKee at some point this offseason. My guess is the Eagles asked for at least a 3rd and the Saints probably figured that it was too much to give up since it’s highly unlikely he’d make that big of a difference given how bad the roster is.

I was at McKee’s first preseason game in Baltimore two years ago and he was definitely throwing the ball better than Mariota in that game.

It’ll be interesting to see how he does if (probably when) Hurts misses a few games this season.

No hips. But we kinda knew that

NO just drafted Tyler Shough in the 2nd, and he hasn’t beaten out Rattler yet - but yeah I expect Kellen was asking around about McKee early on given the weakness of the last QB class.

We don’t really play up at the LoS, so Ringo can play with cushion or half turned facing the QB. These are remedies to getting burnt over the top (if he can locate the ball), but it means he has to be very efficient limiting the YAC from the throws underneath.

Yeah you have to wonder.

He was a good soldier for years developing behind big names. He may be too soft to deal with whats been happening this year. It looked like the job would be his, but they signed Jackson, traded for Bennett, Fangio wasnt exactly complimentary of him in the press conference.

I said the other day I wonder if his confidence is just shot at this point, and he is shutting down. In which case, goodbye dont want ya. He may be Quentin Dempsing his way out of the league.

Methinks y'all might be overreacting a smidge to a preseason game and training camp drills.

I think the more straightforward answer is that he isn't good (in nfl starter terms). That's why he fell in draft. They hoped he would develop because of the raw traits but he didn't

We have seen him perform in game action and make some plays. Hes never been like Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher bad.

In the drill with that slow turn, hes not just behind DeJean (who was said to have tight hips), hes also behind Reed Blankenship who is just an average athlete even for the safety position. And Ringo is a mile behind him.

Its not just skill. Thats a lack of effort.

The catch that Chase made, thats fine. Hes on an island in a pre-season game. The horrible missed tackle- thats inexcusable, and can not be explained away by just being raw and not developing.

It looks like the job was supposed to be his, they brought in competition, and now hes not giving effort.

This is a football message board. It makes more sense to speculate on our team than to spend our days overreacting in CVON doesnt it?

What have been the 2 biggest question marks on defense all offeason? Edge, and CB2. How shocked are you that people are discussing whats going on with CB2?

Purpose of the drill is not speed but tightness of the turn and the ball at the end is to help make that muscle memory because the backpedal, turn and go are to be straight line and the ball is to maintain focus on the ball while muscle memory maintains that straightness while stepping out of the turn and bursting. Basically making the whole motion memory. Doesn’t mean speed doesn’t matter but that isn’t the primary focus although if placed well, it forces the burst. That said, at 23 Ringo is unlikely to miraculously emerge with fluid hips from the drill.

rolleyes

Did I say I was shocked we're talking about it? No. I said maybe calling him a bust and that he's "Dempsing his way out of the league" because of some poor preseason snaps in cover 0 against the best WR in the league is silly. He may well suck but it's way too early to know.

Think the OP is just saying that KR is still making basic mistakes in year whatever this is. And that is just not going to cut it with Fangio and on a team this good. He can play teams where he rocks but Vic is a details guy so guys that don't execute their assignments don't play.

Hate the CB slant we see more in college these days. Can be manipulated by the receiver just like lining up inside or outside of the receiver. Easier to read the CB and thus coverage.

If you recall, Demps said he didnt give effort because the thought the job was his and took it for granted. He was a talented player and blew his opportunity. Thats what that reference is about.

There seems to be an effort issue with Ringo. And I was the first one to reply on here after that game saying that Im not panicking about the performance of our corners in that game because that was 0 coverage and we arent going to be playing a lot of man in the regular season. So youre not telling me anything about overreaction.

You're overreacting to a discussion.

Ringo's demeanor in the locker room interview was sheepish. The catch wasnt an issue, the missed tackle is, so youre missing the point on that one. And the hip turn about 2 seconds slower than Blankenship's is an effort issue not a skill issue. There are enough hints to begin speculation about a Demps situation occurring now. This is a compiling pile of evidence, not a knee jerk reaction to 1 event.

And yes, it is to early to know. Thats why no one other than in your imagine is speaking in absolutes.

all well and good.... for a kid that just walked on to the high school field for the first time not sure which position he is even going to play yet, just trying things out.

Year 3? in the NFL after playing the position at one of the biggest college programs there is? He better be doing it with more speed.

Fangio isn’t overly complimentary or critical in his pressers about any players. They all have areas of improvement that he mentions. He mentions that since only the team knows the play that the reporters don’t see some things done wrong or right.

Im aware.

But it proves to be more than just coach speak when the team actually makes a move at your position.
