What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

It's hard to give the Jets credit for much but I think their run game could be very very good. They already had a good interior OL and they doubled up on Tackles this draft. Move on from a statue in Rodgers with a very mobile QB. Hall is a stud and I'm pretty high on Allen especially in a complementary role.

Now throwing the ball on the other hand...

Yep. If Moore wins 5+ games he should get consideration for coach of the year

Shough will be better than people expect, but that will still only translate to 4-5 wins; it’s just a bad roster. In that division, though, they can get to 4-5 wins.

Not really, he’s best N/S, lateral cuts were always the bane of his existence. Cushion, he struggles sticking and bursting. Half turn is very hard to keep the play in front of you and react. Really only works in bail coverage. Honestly I’d have to watch him more to see where his instincts are, but he’s going to struggle badly if his instincts aren’t S tier with his stiff hips.

There’s a few that were high on him based off his reps last year, i didn’t really break any of them down but on the surface, personally wasn’t impressed and thought his flaws were pretty visible. At the bottom line, it boils down to poor technique and in the history of the NFL only PP, Green and Sanders had the raw athleticism to overcome any technical flaws.

Not bad. Ringo doesn’t display S instincts to me. But Vic was putting all players at the OCB on Thursday out on an island and in Man way more than he would ever do in a real game. In fact, pretty much all the players were isolated on most plays. Best way to improve is with stress plays and it looked like a first PS game. I don’t think there was a single player on D that did not have his number called in the film review.

And Roger wants to ban the Brotherly Shove. Watch the OL wrap the RB and drag him three yards into the end zone. F Goodell. (And F the Jags, who voted to ban the Brotherly Shove).

From when I was in junior high on, starting after spring practice until three a days, that was part of the exercise routine. It isn’t a speed drill. It’s not natural to backpedal and turn. It’s designed to make that more natural. And you practice turning both ways. That’s the hardest part because most everyone has a natural "lead foot”. Next time you are on a field (pretty regular for you), go to a line, backpedal five to ten yards, flip toward your natural lead foot, then step into a burst. Now try flipping away from your natural lead foot so the other foot is lead and burst. Were you able to do both at the same speed? Were you able to stay straight on the line the whole time without focusing on it. That’s what you want. Speed comes with doing it repeatedly so the motion becomes more natural because of muscle memory.

Let’s talk about a couple of the plays in the game. The Chase TD. Ringo is giving a seven foot cushion. Hips have nothing to do with the Chase catch. Chase cuts for the catch and Kelee bursts towards the catch and Chase cuts. Ringo misjudged where Chase was and overruns him. That step was enough and Chase took it to the house. Fangio was absolutely correct that what he was mad about was Ringo missed the tackle. Also demonstrates why Chase is so damn good. There was a play by Jackson where the receiver caught the ball (Jackson was giving cushion all night but mostly keeping the play in front of him). Jackson flips away from the receiver so he can lead coming out of the flip with his right foot. Receiver goes out of bounds which was lucky for Jackson. Both miscues by the CB but in my view (regardless of the result) the miscue by Jackson was more egregious because he flips so he can’t see the receiver. Both teachable moments. No panic mode necessary at this point.

Sidenote, I tried to screenshot from the All22 and failed, yet again. JR showed me how with the NFL+ app, but I need to figure out how to screenshot from my IPad mini. It’s preseason for me too.

Yeah. I keep saying the tackle was the issue, not the catch.

As far as the drills, I did those drills when I played but no one ever told us to do them slow. We were athletic playing in the secondary so we could do things in ways that normal kids couldn't. These guys are in the NFL and have been doing it for years. They should be past the learning to crawl stage at this point.

Tuten, one of my favorite RB's this draft. Stash him on the bench with a later round pick fantasy players.

If they expected a 2nd rounder to win the starting job, they’re in trouble.

I believe the Eagles drafted a 2nd rounder that became a starter pretty quickly.

Yeah well he was not drafted and expected to win the starting job instantly

One of my favorite Philly sports moment ever. Amazing, dramatic theater. Up there with we are talking 'bout practice and for who, for what.

I think people have to be realistic about CB2. Mitchell is a stud, Slay a few years ago was a top ten starting CB, but most NFL starting CBs aren't shutdown man coverage guys. There's only a couple dozen in the league at any one time.

To expect to have two of them (and pay for them) is wishful thinking.

Fangio put them on an island for a number of reasons, testing their raw athleticism and technique, finding out what they can handle in extreme situations, and not showing film of any tweaks he's making to coverage this season.

In a real game, only Mitchell would ever be left alone on Chase.

Bennett was a move of opportunity as much as a judgement on Ringo and Jackson. Booker was on the bubble with the emergence of Hall and Sykes showing promise as a PS candidate.

Booker would be the 5th 3-4 DE behind Hall and Robinson and they probably thought he wasn't stout enough to fill in at NT

Booker would have been claimed on waivers so they got a solid player for him. Bennett has great speed and has shown he can play in the NFL, at worst solid depth at CB.

I think the player who was most impacted was Ricks.

Really hope Sykes finds a way on the roster. Those swim moves were legit. He looks like a solid rotational piece on the DL with alot of room to grow.

Long shot I know. Maybe makes it back to the PS.

Each one of San Fran's QBs threw an INT last night, and no TDs. lol

I love the "They are bad but I'm pretending their schedule is easy for a bad team, so they will get homefield" angle from the national morons.

SF is cooked. They will be lucky to be 3-3 in division.

See Jalen Mills signed with the Texans.

Not sure how long CJGJ will be out this season with all the conflicting reports.

Purpose of the drill is not speed but tightness of the turn and the ball at the end is to help make that muscle memory because the backpedal, turn and go are to be straight line and the ball is to maintain focus on the ball while muscle memory maintains that straightness while stepping out of the turn and bursting. Basically making the whole motion memory. Doesn’t mean speed doesn’t matter but that isn’t the primary focus although if placed well, it forces the burst. That said, at 23 Ringo is unlikely to miraculously emerge with fluid hips from the drill.

I understand your point about the drill, but when you have 2 guys next to him doing the exact same drill, he's noticeably "worse". He completes the drill at his pace, which is one of the big things I'm questioning. 2 guys giving max effort and Ringo.

It's interesting to see they went with Jalen Mills when everyone's favorite former All-Pro, Justin Simmons is out there.

Probably not a great sign for a team when you have to sign a near 30 year old RB who hasn't played in 3 years

Would be good to have someone at least decent at CB2 though. Otherwise they'll just completely ignore Michell and throw to whoever else

If the reporter was puttin hands on Shedeur, this would be a whole different story. This guy is so entitled.
