Landon is in the first year of a 4 year extension. He's going to be here for a while. He already has knee injuries.

GET THE SURGERY.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Thankful it's not his ACL, as that would be the second time he tore his right ACL.

I don't know how to interpret this. There has to be a chance at a potential return at some point this season if he takes a certain course of action if this is how it is outlined I would think.

What is the surgery though? Don't do the surgery of cutting the meniscus. Embiid hasn't been the same since they did that.

Unless it is really bad, it shouldn't be season ending. Jalen Ramsey came back for the end of the year in 2023 after surgery for a full repair.

There's a big range of outcomes with this thing. I don't think they could even set a timetable until they go into his knee and see if they can even repair it. That is, if it's even fully torn.

The seeing more specialist thing makes me think he needs surgery, otherwise there wouldn't be a need to see more doctors and get a second opinion. I also would push him to get the surgery given his age and his history. Timing sucks but I would rather have him around for a few more years.

Meniscus is usually a 4-6 week recovery. I’m guessing he’s out at least the first game. Thankfully it’s not an ACL.

Gut feeling says we don’t see him until Nov/Dec if at all this year

I would think the 3 options are:

  1. No surgery: hope it improves and he is back in a matter of a few weeks

  2. Meniscus trimming: remove the damaged part, back in 6 weeks

  3. Full repair: out 3-6 months

Feels like they are trying to decide between 2&3...what kind of surgery.

Also if it was just a trim, I don't see why he would get additional opinions since that's like a 4 week injury. Just immediately get it done and miss the first game or two. Sounds like a tear at the least that hopefully he can be back around last stretch of games/playoffs.

I want him out there vs Dallas.

Uncrustables work miracles!

I'd be shocked if he was ready week 1. But, since Dallas may have the worst DTs in the league, I'm not stressing.

Chris Jones week 2 will be an issue.

Im thinking, super bowl repeat possible with this roster, hes not going to want to miss the season with a 6 month rehab. Im thinking he will lean towards a quick snip if possible.

The trim isn't ideal, but people are down on it around these parts because of Embiid. You have to realize that with Embiid he got his meniscus trimmed like 8 times. That was the issue. Not one trim.

Yep. It was just an RTK post warning about Embiid so we can ignore that and proceed with logic instead.

He only had it done twice.

I don’t think it feels like anything tbh. Could be deciding between any or all of those

I’m thinking he’s trying to get out of a trim and just rehab it to get back week 1; that’s the delay
