There are 2 teams that just appear to be COMICALLY overrated going into the season. One is the Commanders, and I've posted on them before -- I see them finishing with at best 9 wins, and most likely a losing record. I won't beat a dead horse there.

Can someone explain to me all the love for the Broncos? Is it because people expect some massive jump from Bo Nix? The roster is...fine I guess. Basically a bunch of B level players other than Surtain. They had one good win last year against a playoff team -- they beat the Bucs on the road in week 3. The other 9 wins were: at the Jets, 2 against the Raiders, at New Orleans, Carolina, Atlanta, Cleveland, Indy and the Chiefs' backups in week 18. They got pasted by Buffalo and Baltimore. They get lucky with the AFC South and NFC East this year, but so does KC. Maybe they ride a weak schedule to 9-10 wins again, but feels like everyone is picking them to win the division, and I just don't see it at all.

Probably because Sean Payton is on a Bill Parcells-level of overrated.

I don't disagree with this statement

He's Mike McCarthy with better PR people.

I wouldn't disagree with this statement either

Bo and EJ think there's a chance CB this year could be what LB was for the Eagles last year. Where everyone went into camp assuming that Devin White and Dean would be the LBs and then it turned out they cut White and Baun got the job. Both think that CB2 could end up being a surprise guy... either McWilliams, Bennett, or someone else they acquire... and they could even end up cutting Adoree Jackson.

They both have Ojulari, Patrick Johnson making the team. EJ has OO making it.

They disagreed on OL. Bo has them cutting Lamm, which I can't see. And has Keegan making it barely as the last player in. I can't see that either. EJ had the opposite.

EJ said Hughlett has not had a great camp long snapping, he's had some bad so far in camp. Something to keep an eye on. Thinks the young guy they signed could actually make the team potentially.

And if it's because people think Payton is some great coach...I mean, he's basically Temu Mike McCarthy. In 16 years with a 1st ballot HOF QB, he went to and won a single Super Bowl. Lost in the NFCCG 2 times. In 13 years with Favre/Rodgers, McCarthy got to and won the Super Bowl once and lost 3 NFCCGs.

Well, with the Commanders, it's not a mystery. Major east coast market and went to the NFCCG with a rookie QB. That's an easy recipe for a hype machine. But I agree that they are going to disappoint tremendously. I still think they finish 2nd in the division simply because I'm not sure who else can.

This is going to upset a few people in here, but Toth played very well. Very well. An interesting plus: he, not Kendall, was making the line calls and making them from LG. He was secure in pass pro, blocked on the second level, recognized stunts. IOW, he played like a veteran.

Hinton started out very badly. He was turning rather than sliding in pass pro, which is a no-no. He has a funny action with his left foot when he sets; I think that's something Stout has him do consciously in his jump sets. He needs more strength, which surprised me a little, Michigan's strength program being legendary. As the game wore on he rallied a bit and made some nice blocks. I can see why Stout likes him.

Lamm started at LT and was fine.

I’m actually not surprised he played well at guard. BLG has been saying for a while now (believe he did on a podcast recently on the ringer) that Toth has looked bad at center every time he’s gone to watch him at practice but at guard he said he’s always looked much better.

I think they go 8-9 this year. Girls end up 10-7 taking 2nd place

Random question...if the Eagles ceased to exist, what team would you want to root for based on:

  1. Who you enjoy rooting for

  2. Where you live / who you know

  3. Frontrunning what franchise you think has the most success in front of it

For me:

  1. Bills

  2. Jets

  3. Sadly, Chiefs until Mahomes retires

Bo and EJ were talking about if the Eagles make a surprise trade where they trade a player away, who would the most likely to be traded. Both though Sydney Brown. Just don't think he fits Fangio's scheme. Bo mentioned Eli Ricks as a possibility.

I can't fathom Eli Ricks having any value at all. Sydney Brown's value would be in a like-for-like trade. Basically a 2nd through 4th round pick who has not yet played in the league and has 1-2 years left on their rookie deal. Two teams just swapping players who didn't catch on trying for a change of scenery.

Toth is *only* 28, but I feel like he's been a backup OG on this team for about 15 years with 5 different stints.

I originally thought Dallas could sneak into 2nd place, but the Parsons drama and O-Line injuries make me think both teams end up around 8-9 wins.

I just find the Commanders hype hysterical as the team managed to get worse this offseason, and TV talking heads are saying they had a great offseason. They did, if it were 2021.

Dak told the Rams owner he'd see him at the NFC Championship Game.

Do you suppose he's putting together a watch party at his house?

The High Price of Being an NFL Superfan

Fall weekends are sacred for football fans. The weather turns crisp, the leaves change, and the sound of kickoff fills living rooms across the country. Sundays are for back-to-back games, Monday…

Here’s what it takes to watch all the games this season:

• ESPN DTC: $29.99/mo

• Amazon Prime: $14.99/mo

• Peacock: $11.99/mo

• Paramount+: $11.99/mo

• Fox One: $19.99/mo

• Netflix: $22.99/mo

• NFL Sunday Ticket: $480 (one-time)

That’s a grand total of $1,171.64 a year.

We know Toth sucks as a center. A center that can't snap correctly 99.9% of the time is useless. Is he as bad at guard?

Falling awkwardly, turning, just being shoved to the ground can aggravate it. He'll deal with this all year and my guess is miss some time

Yup. At best an annoyance. At worst, he gets folded one time and can't get up.

Bills for me is the correct answer to your blasphemous question. They ( the fan base) are us. Only it's colder and they haven't gotten over the hump.

F the Chiefs. Jets are losers.

Also I could root for Baltimore. I just have always liked their old mentality. Punch you in the face defense, years back. Also won 1700 on them when they won the SB. One of my few prop bets that ever paid off on a hundy. Eagles did too once at 8 to 1 to win the division when they were down 3 games. Goofy bet but I felt it based on the games that were left.

Bills team and fanbase is pretty similar. They'd be the easy choice. Allen is fun to watch

I actually wanted to face them in the SB because I thought that game would just be awesome to watch

I wanted vengeance, and boy was it sweet.

Had 57 been played on a legitimate NFL field...

I just don't have the same hatred or dislke of Chiefs and Mahomes as many others 🤷‍♂️

He's fun to watch as well IMO

Mainly, I just wanted to see Nick Wright cry. He's one of the most insufferable clowns on TV right now.

I stopped watching those because a lot of them seem to just be clickbait views or just have some crazy take to get people to tune in

I don't think he's seen as the best option, he's just a short-term placeholder so the others can focus on where they'll play during the season.

So Steen stays at RG, Pryor and Kinnard swing between G and T and Lamm at LT.

The disappointment is Keegan, had he shown enough to impress Stout, he'd probably have been given time with the 1st and start the next exhibition game to see how far he's progressed.
