Stephon Gilmore is still out there if worst comes to worst with CB2, he can still play. Or Howie makes another trade. I still think one of Ringo or Adoree win the job and play fine throughout most of the season.

May Jerry live forever! And seriously glad he beat cancer. I'd say that for almost anyone. Almost.

Was it mentioned anywhere if it was a suture or trim?

A repair takes much longer to heal than just cutting off the bad part.

He asked Hurts to show him where Kenny Pickett's locker was.

Did the team give a firm timeline for recovery? I know one of the beats said "early in the season" but nothing else beyond that.

They aren't going to tell us anything. They still haven't told us what happened to Dickerson last year other than he hurt his knee. They will just throw their hands in the air like "Who knows" about his availability until the day he's seen practicing.

Consensus seems to be that Bennett really struggled today. Bo said Mac McWilliams looked the best of the non Quinyon corners today. Thinks he has a real chance to win the CB2 job. He's practicing exclusively on the outside now and that is pretty telling.

No, everyone said basically the same vague thing so it's not clear exactly what he got. But it's safe to say it wasn't a suture.

Listening to latest Bill Simmons podcast and they are saying the upcoming Netflix docuseries on the 90s Cowboys and they are saying is right up there with The Last Dance.

And they are saying nobody cares because Dallass sucks and they are saying the dinosaurs went extinct because you touch yourself at night.

Starting to think that going back to 1987 isn't particularly useful, as a CB running a 4.41 doesn't exactly impress me. Perhaps it should be a 10yr look back, as a comparison to the players who are actually in the league now.

The Chiefs completely sold out to stop Barkley in the Super Bowl and they were successful. It was irrelevant because our defense dominated but the run game was far from dominant that game.

If needed, I think Brown and Smith could have gone for 150+ each that game. They were single covered the whole game.

Barkley is a stud but before last season, when was the last time a team with an All-pro caliber RB won the Super Bowl? The Seahawks with Lynch?

But it wasn’t irrelevant. Barkley accounted for 97 yards directly, and even more importantly the devotion by Spags of 8 men to denying Saquon any rushing break through, left all the Eagles receivers in one on one coverage, which was even more tenuous when Hurts play faked a handoff to Barkley and dropped back to pass. That was deadly.

The Eagles broke the Chiefs, they're done.

Week two will go a long way toward determining if the Chiefs are indeed done I expect the Eagles to be primed to drive a stake into the Chiefs hearts. This is no time to let them get up off the floor.

PHLY joint practice notes:

OL:

Toth and Kinnard seem squarely locked into LG1 and LG2 respectively.

Keegan looked overpowered several times. Looks like he really lacks power.

Cameron Williams did not look good again. Was on his back several times. Screams practice squad or phantom IR.

Lane got beat on a one on one vs Garrett

Mailata got beat a couple times today. Not his best day.

WR:

Wilson had a good day. Hurts threw the ball up to him to come down with which he doesn't usually do with Wilson. That's been more of a McKee thing to this point.

Cooper didn't stand out a ton today, but Bo thinks he's a lock to make the roster. Fran noted he was getting first team gunner reps on STs which bodes well for him making the team.

RB:

Shipley had a good day, beat defenders as a receiver throughout practice.

Powell had some nice reps.

DL:

Hunt and Nolan have been getting limited reps. They wonder if Nolan is still being taken easy on coming back from the surgery. They've pulled back on him all camp on various drills and reps.

Ojulari had his best day.

CB:

Ringo had a rep where he struggled vs Diontae Johnson and another rep where he got beat.

Bennett did not have a great day, really struggled.

McWilliams had a good day, was still 2nd team reps, but staying at outside corner now.

Bo really liked Brandon Johnson. Said he's flashed every practice so far. Doesn't have him making the team, but really wants to put him on it.

LB:

Baun flashed right away, made a play on the very first play after returning from the back. Not showing signs of year one with the Eagles being a fluke.

Safety:

Not much here in terms of notes.

At this point of the preseason and the way things are going in Cowboy land, the best thing I have to look forward to this year is Annie Agar’s weekly parody.

LOL - what? Payton is worshipped by the media and completely overhyped. Seriously, Mike McCarthy has a better resume as a head coach.
