Oh wow he was on with his agent? Oh wow I never knew that. Shocking. Also let's ignore in the video where Roseman says he is back and forth with the Titans. Jackass.

Sadly took me longer than expected to get this

I shall blame the stouts and carry on

Yeah I know. How is Howie, in a draft room with 20+ people while he works out a contract with AJ and also has an ongoing back and forth with the Titans on a potential trade and no one is noticing beyond 5 people?

Howie very specifically said the titans side was done in the morning. He didn’t need a back and forth with the titans. Hammer out specifics on the contract with the agent, then it’s done

Just curious why they aren't looking at different slot CB options and sliding DeJean out to CB2. I get that he's a valuable piece where they are using him, but he's their 2nd best CB on the roster. Put him out there. Get Mac McWilliams in the slot. See if Castro-Fields can play slot. Put your best players on the field. I'd rather have the boundaries covered by the two best CB on the team and then have a safety help whoever the slot CB is if needed.

Hell of an exchange.

Sirianni saying everything by saying nothing. It is a TBD situation.

They should put "Keep Murdering” in the other end zone, then study violent crime statistics 90 days later to analyze whether the message is having any effect.

Yep. By saying nothing he is saying they aren't comfortable with anyone and this is likely a situation that has yet to be resolved with guys on the roster.

Howie is amazing, but he got too cute letting Rodgers, Slay, and CJ go while not signing someone like Alexander when he became available. Things can change, but it's not looking ideal right now.

This team is falling apart. They lose one joint practice and have to drown their sorrows in alcohol and pain killers. It sure sounds like they won't be able to handle the adversity of Saturdays preseason game. It now has become must win.

I'm going to have to start bashing Hurts again to get things going.

That guy sucks, and the defense won the SB before he could throw enough picks to blow it.

Yep. He messed up a little bit. Thankfully he has ten thousand draft picks next year and there are some decent stopgap options still available as free agents (Simmons, Gilmore, Douglas, Samuel if healthy). I'd be shocked if he doesn't add at least one DB, and I think adding two is more likely than adding none.

This team will never win a SB with Jalen Hurts

Considering Bennett's supposed struggles so far, I wouldnt mind seeing Rasul Douglas here for the final pre-season game. He fits this scheme perfectly.

Just looking around at CB who have 1 year left on their deal. Greg Newsome is in the last year of his contract. The Eagles just had the Browns here in town and were able to see him up close. They have a trade history with the Browns. I wonder if they could strike up a deal.

Too cute is right.

Rodgers was the obvious heir to CB2

Ringo tinted glasses I suppose

Apparently Mailata is dealing with some type of an issue. He said today he’s a little banged up but didn’t elaborate. Tim McManus said he saw him grimacing after almost every play today and a few times grab at his mid section. He’s surprised Mailata hasn’t been given a day off like Lane was, but Mailata sounded after the practice like he wanted a day off. McManus said Mailata hasn’t looked quite himself all camp.

I was borderline shocked they didn't bring back Rodgers. A competition between him and Ringo made perfect sense.

Just didn't have the cap room, Baun was a better bet than Slay, CJ was probably clubhouse/coaching issues as much as play (he's opportunistic but undisciplined, not the way to Fangio's heart).

Not sure Rodgers will be better than McWilliams by the bye week, both undersized CBs with good speed, but McWilliams is young and cheap.

It's hard to keep an elite defense together under the cap, Williams and Kearse couldn't be paid, but Hunt and Ojomo seem to be able to pick up the slack. It's more a depth issue, promoting them means Ucho and Hall become next man up, but adding Campbell gives you a lot of options down the stretch (Campbell and Baun can both rush A gaps or off the edge if need be).

I'm not sure Bennett isn't as good as the available and affordable FAs (if they couldn't pay Slay, Howie certainly didn't have $20+M to throw at a top DB), like most of the players who it FA, he's got a decent track record but has limitations.

One thing to remember before you panic, Fangio runs a very sophisticated defense which you don't see in preseason. In practice and preseason, a lot is about testing player limitations so he knows what they can and can't handle in games.

Once the real games start, Fangio will find ways to protect and disguise, so a limited CB2 won't look as vulnerable as he does in exhibition games.

One reason I want DeSean to stay inside is he can impact the game a lot more there, whereas if you put him at outside CB, OCs will attack the center of the defense and use outside WRs as decoys to pull Mitchell and DeSean out of the play and make it a 9 on 9 game.

They absolutely had the cap room to keep Rodgers.
