The list isn't as long as one would think; to win the Super Bowl as a QB there needs to be a "clutch" factor -- where some QBs would lose a winnable Super Bowl almost by themselves (Ron Jaworski). For me, I would tend to eliminate the guys with a history of making mistakes in big spots -- Kirk Cousins, Dak (or, as Amari Cooper called him, "black Kirk Cousins"), Carr, Lawrence, Geno Smith, Darnold, etc.

My 2024 list would be -- Burrow, Allen, Herbert (maybe), Jackson, Goff (maybe), Mayfield, Mahomes, Stafford, Daniels. I think the list stops there.

Probably one-quarter to one-third of the QBs in the NFL could/would have gotten it done with the Eagles' roster around them, IMO.

Darnold might be the worst that would win it on this team

Baker comes to mind first. Maybe Geno or Kyler.

Hurts played well. But he wasn't as determinative as being SB MVP would suggest.

Yeah, Hurts did exactly what was asked of him pretty much all season. He didn't need to put up better passing numbers for this team to be effective. When you have an elite RB going for 2k yards and a defense that's holding teams in the high teens, you just need to play sound, mistake free football. I'm sure Goff and Jackson would trade in some of those passing TDs for a SB win. The way I see it is, when they asked Jalen to turn it on in the regular season and playoffs, he did so.

Braden Mann needs an extension.

Agreed. Won't take a Draft pick to do that.

All-time. And as an indication of how much the game has changed, just look at the balls used in the game.

Who knew they used to play football with a coconut

Since everyone wants to talk about it:

Tier 1: Mahomes. That's it, he's by himself. He's easily the best QB in football

Tier 2: Allen, Jackson, Burrow and Hurts. This is the order I would have them in.

Tier 2b: Stafford. Given his age and declining production, I can't put him with the other 4, but he's better than tier 3.

Tier 3: In no particular order -- Dak, Daniels, Love, Goff, Baker, Purdy, Stroud, Herbert, Maye and Nix

The rest of the league is guys that teams want to replace, or young guys with a lot to prove.

They were dead last in pass attempts due to that fact. If the yardage and pass TDs aren't there, it's a product of the system, not necessarily a deficiency of Hurts.

I don't know, because projecting where this team would've been at with a full season under an inferior QB is hard to tell. We don't even know if the team has the same success if they're lower than a 2 seed and have to play on the road for the entire postseason. I think it's easier to guess in terms of a one game scenario

I think removing Jalen from the equation changes how effective Barkley is in this offense. I mean, we saw how KC sold out to make Jalen beat them, but who is the worst QB you think could torch KC's defense without a run game? Don't forget the plays Hurts extended or made with his running ability too.

Darnold was really bad when the rubber hit the road in both DET games. KOC deserved coach of the year for making him look like a functional QB for as long as he did. I think he'll regress pretty badly again in SEA.

It seemed as if pressure was his achilles heel. He played very well when he had time. So I think he would have been solid behind Stoutland's like. Going to Seattle, who has notoriously had one of the shittier lines in the league for years is...not ideal if that's the case

Well the question was who is the worst that would win on the team lol

The team was stacked in 2024

He's more accurate and a better passer than Hurts

Are you arguing something? I'm just confused on your reply as I wasn't talking about that. Maybe you confused me with someone else?

I'd agree the times have changed. They've even changed from the crop that was 2000-2010

Just following my own line of thought.

Allen is streaky. Sometimes Allen puts the team on his back and wills the team and sometimes he is interception Allen. Jackson is a better QB than Allen.

Sure, I won't argue too much either way, but the point is that they've both been perennial MVP contenders whereas Hurts hasn't been. Of course, Hurts has a ring and they don't, so that counts for something, but not enough to say he's clearly better than both of them.

I think I misunderstood the question. I thought it was just start one game, the Super Bowl.

If it’s for the entire season I would say Russell Wilson, maybe.

I don't know why Mike thinks Herbert is more accurate, lol. Anyway, what I do know is that people will forever glaze Herbert for his potential and not on what he's actually done in the league. I agree with you, he can't carry a team and doesn't have the clutch gene.

I would say probably any top 12ish QB that doesn't crap the bed in big games. So no to Dak, Aaron Rodgers, Lamar, Love, Goff, and Murray...the rest of the top 12ish QBs would win the SB with that team.

A QB that plays his best in the biggest moments is one of the best traits a QB can have. Hurts has that...which is all I really care about.

That’s not an OCB by any stretch of the imagination and even then it is a contested ball. I just don’t see him as Nick’s big WR.

AJ is Nick’s big WR. Calcaterra would be Nick’s slot WR.

and my opinion is Darnold would have prevented them from winning based on his performances in the Vikings big games last season.

No question he would’ve choked

I'd walk through Hell with Hurts as my QB.

We would Brotherly Shove across the river Styx.

White smoke from Vatican. Time to find out if Big Dom's historic run continues.

If anyone says Dak, I'm banning you on the spot.
