I agree its too high in rating at this moment heading into 2025, but I also see why he wound up so high.

In 2024 he had about 500 yards and 3 TD's through Thanksgiving. I think the voting should just count by individual years but I doubt that actually happens with players.

I think he gets traded. 2-3 teams that could use a better backup

So are the Browns going to keep 4 QBs? If not, Pickett is probably the odd man out.

I feel like players who get drafted should be protected on the practice squad for at least a year. McCord really needs to just basically be red shirted for a season.

But Pickett as a #3 would be great depth. However, there are a few teams where he’ll probably have the opportunity to start by October.

Why aren't the Browns cutting Sanders?

Gabriel showed just as well, or better, than Sanders did and was their 3rd round pick. If Gabriel is cut he'll likely get picked up by another team. Sanders can be cut without that worry and be brought back onto their practice roster (if they choose -- I would not).

Pickett is not getting cut or traded. Flacco is 40-years-old and unlikely to go 17 games as the starter, performance or injury-wise. Pickett is the clear #2 QB there. Neither Gabriel nor Sanders are ready to start an NFL regular season game.

No chance they cut Sanders. They just invested a pick in him, he looked pretty good in his one preseason game, and given he has less experience, he has more theoretical upside than Pickett who has shown very little upside. They'll either keep 4 or Pickett will be the odd man out.

Mary Kay Cabot says they keep all 4, so she's in agreement with you on that. No way you can go into Week 1 with Joe Flacco and Shedeur (or Gabriel) as your active QBs on game day.

They invested a pick and player to acquire Pickett from the Eagles. Sanders looked okay against a terrible Panthers D -- nothing better than that. Huntley has looked as good, as a camp body.

I'm not sure why people think we are going to carry 3 QBs. There isn't any point. Neither of the two guys competing for the 3rd spot are worthy or a roster spot nor at any threat of being signed to another teams 53 man roster. They can bring back whichever they prefer on the practice squad.

How so? The media attention will actually leave and go where he goes. Win-win for the Browns. I don't think Stefanski wants him there; it will depend if Andrew Berry mandates him to stay for other reasons.

I thought Sheil's point about J. Bennett made a lot of sense. Passed along from Ted Nguyen (big Raiders guy, good NFL analyst) that awareness is a weak point for Bennett. Sheil said that Bennett might look way better in the excessive man coverage reps this preseason vs Jackson/Ringo, but that's not how Fangio is gonna call regular season games and Bennett might not be a good fit for that.

Forgot he was still out there and a little surprised the Eagles didn't show interest after Dickerson went down. Even with him not expected to miss much time, Risner is probably at least as good as Toth and probably better.

They have to keep 4. I can't see a team having a 40 year old starting QB and both of his backups are rookies. They did this to themselves by drafting Sanders when they already took Gabriel.
