Lol. Seems like a certain network took a very small amount of backlash on social media and tried to make it seem like one side was flipping out.

News flash: Liberals love big ol’ honkers too.

It's the American way.

Cool. Well unless said chesty blonde seig heiled her way across the screen then people who got bent out of shape over that one are idiots too. Happy?

I looked it up and it was all placed like The NY Post talking about it. roll

Professional crap stirrers targeting low attention span rubes. I seriously doubt a significant number of real people give AF.

I took another look at the ad. Yeah, I'm happy. Not majorly into her either, but she has some flotation devices.

I didn't bring up the topic, but like the story I just posted talking about them losing $200 million in value it doesn't sound like a smart decision. It's not so much they changed the logo and the interior as to why linked to a few social media posts that we don't need to get into in this area. Dumb move by the CEO. Their target audience is evidently pissed off so she missed the mark.

Honestly, I don't see why people go there anyway. Food is fine, but you get the same at most diners back home. There used to always be a long wait as well. I couldn't care less what happens to them.

Eh, a "dumb move" by the CEO would be to sit back and do nothing, which could eventually lead to CB eventually going under. Rebranding is smart, as you want to make your restaurants more appealing to everyone, which has absolutely nothing to do with politics. Imo, the people that are upset at the changes, and those who have somehow injected politics into the discussion and blame wokeness for these decisions, are quite frankly, dumb.

It's always been funny to me when we compare Hurts 2022 season (considered an MVP season) to his 2023 and 2024. Even in 2023 he had several key stats that were better than 2022 but the interceptions are what hurt his numbers the most. All 3 seasons his amount of sacks has been about the same (38, 36, 38).

Regarding the consistency point, I would like to see him be consistent in decision making, sometimes that doesn't show up on the main stat sheet. Such as timing, not missing open receivers, getting rid of the ball or rush forward for a positive gain rather than take a sack for loss of yards. I think at his level now, these aren't major criticisms but areas for him to improve to get even better, which is something he always talks about. Also that comment he made about taking the straight jacket off of him was interesting. Hopefully this season he feels more comfortable in executing the offense without worrying about overcorrecting for mistakes.

I'd like to see him have no more than 5 fumbles on the year, but he consistently stays around 9 or so on the year, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. I think the biggest thing I want to see him improve on is simply getting rid of the ball. Whether that's dumping it to your hot route, taking what's underneath, or throwing it away. Doing that will also help with reducing the amount of sacks he takes.

Season finale of Chiefs "The Kingdom" was gold.

Spoiler alert. What a d ick

Anyway… was rewatching the Eagles defense vs Cleveland (No way I’m watching that offensive performance again). Trotter is good. I don’t know if he’ll be a plus player, but I could see him be a great backup for the next two years and then start next to Campbell in 2027 once Baun ages out.

Agree, but there are steps to be taken that may not trigger outrage as well, or lose the current base. I mean, think of who eats there. No executives in the room said, considering who eats here, maybe it's not the best idea to remove the old white guy because people may link it to the woke removal of Uncle Ben, Aunt Jemima, or the Redskins name?

Not saying I agree with any of this, but the bottom line is as CEO, your job is to navigate changes without stepping into it. We are still the same CB with an updated menu with healthier options for everyone or whatever. Taking a guy off the logo and rocking chairs off the wall vs improving the theme park type of food probably wasn't the best decision as we are seeing now.

It's all dumb but they have to consider the environment.

Speaking of mediocre food...but they do have good shakes for fast food. They get their target audience, though.

The reason i initially posted the logo change is because I really don't like the minimalistic trend for seemingly all companies. Companies are throwing away all of their brand recognition for minimalism. No more charm and quirkiness to the logos. No more identities, just words with a boring font. All the restaurants look the same now. The same grey or brown facade with black trimmed windows. There's no life left in the buildings. It's all very dark and depressing. Maybe it's me being a 90s kid when everything was bright and vibrant. I don't even go to these restaurants to eat so it doesn't matter to me from a consumer standpoint. I just hate the visuals of it all.

Imagine taking pride in the heritage of Steak N Shake lol

And then if you put Mac on the field what happens when he gets ISOd outside against some 6’4” 220 pound guy?

Isnt that pretty much the exact scenario that could be avoided by playing Cooper on the outside?

I wonder if they'll try to figure out a way to have Trotter help out CB2 at least to start.

Well, that wasn’t the proposal. The proposal was to have DeJean follow the "number 2.”

If that’s the case, then the offense dictates if DeJean is in the slot covering the #2 receiver or on the outside.

But if you make Cooper a permanent boundary corner, then you’re taking away a huge advantage of his skill set. It can’t be overstated how valuable he is against the run operating from the slot.

You’re also accepting some serious disadvantages by doing this with our third corner. All of our depth, save Mac, is better on the outside — Jackson, Ringo, Bennett, and Rick’s are all better off outside than inside. And if you play Mac there, you’re getting much smaller and weaker against the run.

Bottom line, Cooper DeJean needs to be in the slot. If no one steps up on the outside, we’re drafting another corner early next year.

Can't argue with that. Same story with lots of restaurants. CB is like the food you get at a tourist trap. Not horrible, but mediocre and you are left going why did we choose that place?

I’m somewhat of a fan. I think Cracker Barrel provides a solid breakfast for travelers in a clean, pleasant environment. It also has a nice gift area to browse while waiting. Their candy selection at the counter when paying the bill is first rate. I love getting tootsie rolls and mints whenever we stop on our trips through PA.

In this political climate, there is no way to approach it that doesn't somehow piss off one side or the other. I think your comparison is a little off considering both changes are for different reasons. For one, Quaker never implemented any changes due to declining sales. Secondly, Cracker Barrel has seen a consistent decline in revenue due to rising competition and a lack of consumer interest. Restaurants have to constantly evolve to meet consumer demand and don't really cater to political sides. Think about how often restaurant chains and fast food places change their logo, slogan, menu items, and look/interior. Lastly, I see POC and minorities eating at cracker barrel all the time - so just imagine if their CEO leaned into catering to their consumers that are conservative, and or Trump supporters. They'd probably lose a ton of business.

This is my favorite, lol

Reading the Wilson injury thing again, I think they've been poorly worded. I don't think both his ankle and knee surgery are each season ending injuries. I think it's he got surgery on his knee and ankles and now his season is over because they are placing him on IR.

Fair points. I'd stop there over a Flying J anytime.

Ah, either way a shame. I was interested in seeing his progress going into year 2. I don't have any huge expectations for him, but I think he can become more than just "a guy"

Interesting info from ESP…

Reps by the 1st-team offense in training camp (7v7, 11v11):

2023: 393

2025: 496

Over a hundred more reps in this training camp as opposed to coming off the Super Bowl in 2022

Noteworthy difference by Sirianni and Fangio

Kinda funny to call the candy selection first rate and then say you get tootsie rolls and mints.
