Hopefully his body doesn't break down from the accumulated hits when he nears 30. He's been better about just throwing it away and living for the next down

You can hope the same thing about any QB, any style. Jalen hasn't taken anymore "hard" hits than any other QB with as many snaps. Fortunately in his case, he hasn't had any major injuries that would really accumulate into anything negative. Amazingly, that was only his first concussion last season. Overall, I find his durability impressive --- especially when you consider he could have played through all of them if allowed to. Hurts obviously doesn't always protect himself and if the game situation demands it, he may try to power through defenders, exposing himself to some big hits as a runner. But most of the time, he's pretty good at minimizing hits even when he doesn't slide or run out of bounds. Compare him to a pocket passer like Aikman that suffered 10 concussions in 12 seasons, mostly from taking hits in the pocket.

The only injury Jalen has had more than one of so far was the ankle sprain (he had 1 in college and 1 here).

I actually just noticed that Mahomes broke his streak of 4k yards. 2024 would have been 7 years

AR remains pass happy.

Didn't you hear? The Tush Push is a breeding ground for traumatic injury. Its in all the papers.

Mr. Power play himself….

That would be exceptionally uninspiring

Not sure if people remember, but remember back in free agency Justin Reid said he came close to signing with the Eagles.

If that happened, do you think Mukuba would still have been the 2nd round pick? Or do you think the Eagles would have went elsewhere?

The best thing is it would be a bridge until more young players are here and then you get your coach? Who the heck knows.

Kind of think it would’ve been someone like fannin instead

I’d prefer steer clear of former Flyers players, although Bérubé and Brind’Amour have both been really good coaches.

Flyers special teams have been very bad for way too long, and for a system-driven league they give up way too many goals. I’d like to see a hire with a strong track record of success in both areas.

Agree with you.

Is TB's LF a kitty cat?

A 2nd round wr just signed a fully guaranteed rookie contract. Is this a big deal?

If you go back just a little while, signing rookie draft picks was not always seamless.

Lately, players are slotted in very methodically. I feel like this is change, a negotiation…and we haven’t really seen much of that I’ve noticed in a while.

The MVP belonged to the DL... but since they can't give it to a group of players... NFL default is to give it to the QB.

  1. Baun - had his own pick, and I’d argue that his position and drift is largely responsible for DeJean’s pick 6

  2. Dejean - pick 6 absolutely broke Mahomes, he was a lost puppy dog after that. Also was his bday….they flubbed the dub with that.

AJ is a worse blocker than Devonta (who may be the best blocker pound for pound. Nick has plays that require a big blocking WR that catches the ball well enough to be a threat but runs routes well enough and with enough speed that he is a player that requires OCB coverage outside. We will just disagree on that.

Okay. Agree to disagree.

First one ever, so kinda. It at least opens the door for the future.

I honestly think if everyone went back and rewatched LIV, they'd see that Hurts played far better than they realized. I did it myself the night after we beat the Rams and had forgotten how amazing some of those throws were. It was part of the reason why I was confident as I was for the rest of the run. I did it a few years ago with the NFCCG against the Rams too, and likewise, I had forgotten how well McNabb played. Granted that was like 20 years ago but I think the end result can taint our memories and skew our assessment of some of the individual performances.

LIV?

I think it would suck no matter what. I'd rather Shaw be the bridge, but like you said, the Flyers are a bit of a mystery. I almost expect them make the uninspired choice. Of course, there is the strong possibility no good coach wants to come to Philly and uninspiring is all they got.

Hurts got concussed twice last season. He just has a good poker face, till he talks to the media and says that ‘he beat the test’.

You are thinking about/evaluating Herbert in the context of the Chargers offense.

The premise that was put forward was a quarterback coming in and running the existing Eagles offense. If you look at the post below by palindrome, you can see that the before the Bye numbers are the kinds of numbers that Herbert has had to produce in the Chargers offense , whereas if he were taking over the Eagles offense he would be Inheriting the numbers that are in the after the buy part of Room’s post

Stick Herbet in the Eagles offense and he's still a choke artist in big games. It's in his blood, it's in his fiber. Just like with Hurts it is in his DNA that he is a winner and will perform his best in the biggest games.

Not really but you would say that. Saying one of the best superbowl performances by a qb ever wasn't good enough is just silly.

How do you define "good enough”?

Good enough to complete what goal?

Do you think Hurts believes his performance was good enough?

The phrasing of this indicates mahomes just played poorly, which is just wrong.

He didn't crap the bed, he had his ish pushed in through his bowels and out of his mouth by a defense that would not be denied. It had nothing to do with him and everything to do with running for his life on every play and getting crushed repeatedly.

It's both, he played one of the worst games of his career and our defense played the most complete and dominant game we've seen from them. They aren't mutually exclusive.
