The next four days are the worse part of every football season. It is sad to see so many young people get their dreams crushed. Some reprise with the following few days with waiver pick ups and PS signings. We as fans throw out comments about making the team but underlying is the reality for over 600 young men their dream job is denied or ended.

I agree, it's sad. I wonder how many of them will be able to get on with a UFL team.

Kendall Lamm said in an interview that after back surgery he still isn't back to 100%. Could be why he's struggled by all accounts during camp.

How have we not traded for an All Pro CB2 yet? Howie, don’t you want to win??? 🤬

Count me as one of the dummies who is okay with DeJean punt returning.

CB2 and KR/WR worry me the most at this point. I think the approach taken was a huge gamble. It still might pay off in the long run, but as of today, no one has won CB2, and you don't have a definitive returner on the team. I'm guessing Will Shipley could easily be the KR. He averaged 29 yards on 6 returns last year. KR is much easier to ignore than PR though. A shaky PR can change the course of the game with a fumble that flips field position. They don't have a PR. That's an issue.

I was one of the Ainias Smith fan club leaders, but yeah, I don't think he's a top 53 player at this point.

I know that different players are usually KR and PR. How good are Shipley's hands? Any chance he could do both?

Or wait 'til he's cut. Unless the Eagles were concerned about somebody else jumping ahead of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns sat on 4 QBs.

Note; Parsons could also just play from Thanksgiving on for the rest of his career.

He would always be on the same 5th year option season but he would make 1/3 of his 24 million (8 million) and the Cowboys would be screwed for the first 9 games.

The Cowboys would have to hold that full value on their cap every year since he could show up in week 1.

This 5th year option would increase a bit every year.

He could still make his normal money from endorsements, podcasts, signings, and NFLPA revenue.

He'd make 8 million plus another 5-10m every year for 10 weeks of work.

I think he should DEFINITELY skip week 1 and then ask Jerry how he liked that blowout ass kicking. FWIW, I think the Dallas D is fast but too light to handle the Eagles O and is going to get hammered in Week One. We are going to run like mad on them. Worse if Micah doesn't play.

@Joe Ball what do you think is going to happen?

I’m glad they found it and he’s having it done for his personal health and his family. I wouldn’t be entirely shocked if wheeler hangs them up. I don’t think he does but i don’t think it’s out of the question either

Good news he’s not going to retire according to Dombroski. Hopefully his career afterwards is more in line with Merrill kelly and Chris Young rather than Strasburg and Matt Harvey who had the surgery, but we’re never the same.

I mean the Philly beat writers have been saying that he looks spectacular out of the backfield, so he's gotta have good hands. the issue with me is that as a KR, he's letting the ball come in to his body at a much different angle than he is on PR.

I don't think DeJean will return punts. The cost benefit is not worth it. It's not like he adds so much there it's worth blowing up the defense. The returner may yet not be on the roster. Ainias shouldn't make the team, he's just not good. Too small, not that fast, meh hands. Don't see the upside with him. And go out and get another Edge please Howie.

There are two kinds of Eagles fans currently: Fans who want Cooper Dejean returning punts (Big dummies) and fans who don't want Cooper Dejean returning punts (Smart guys).

Just call me Charlie McCarthy.

There's an obvious choice for return specialist.

DTR: Down to Return

Browns/Rams game, bit hit and they won't replay it. When did we start censoring big hits?

A bit of caution for Howie in the next few days.

If DeJean is not the PR, I'd say the returner is on the roster. We just won't be thrilled with it.

I think they’d prefer someone else. Somehow all their WRs can’t return punts which is less than ideal. But you’re not going to muff a kick just to avoid DeJean playing football

Depending on his work ethic he can fix that

Would be a dream come true if we could trade for him to be QB3 and then develop him to be QB2 after we flip McKee next summer.

I thought kicking the Chiefs in the Super Bowl was a dream but that would pale in comparison to getting Shedeur Sanders as our QB3 who could someday possibly be QB2. Pinch me

Sanders, Pickett, Wentz or bust.

Wake up Howie!

In all seriousness there is no time to bring in a QB outside of Pickett to run the passing offense for week 1 if McKee can't go. And in all likelihood McKee wouldn't miss more than a game because there are 11 days after game 1 before game 2. So really you're probably going to hope Hurts doesn't get hurt and if he does go out that we have the lead and you'll be handing off every play. They won't do anything extreme just to get a 1 or 2 week backup who won't be very ready anyway. All that said I could see Howie look for a better #3 who could be #2 in a year because while still possible it doesn't look like we have that
