I kind of liked Howell as a prospect.

Wonder if McKee had a mallet finger which is like a 12 week injury if treated non-surgically.

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Yeah, still. I think it only makes sense if they expect McKee to miss multiple games.

It seems like they do. Given QB salaries Howell could get you a comp pick back eventually

I actually thought Kenny Small Hands was coming back.

I don't like giving up a 5th for Howell, but they must be concerned about McKee's health.

They have an over abundance of 5ths

I thought Howell was competent when he played. Wouldn't want him as a starter obviously but seemed back up worthy

Didn’t Sam Howell kill us a couple years ago?

McCord going to practice squad??

If McKee has a 4 week injury then he could go to IR and it would enable them to keep another player so makes sense in that regard to trade a pick

I guess this is also an early audition for Howell to become the long term backup QB here if McKee gets traded next offseason.

Yep, if you re-sign him then you probably traded McKee. If he has to play and is decent you'll get a comp pick back because half decent backup QBs got 3-5 million

For the last 10 minutes I thought they traded for Sam Darnold, I just now realized it’s that little rat face guy from the Commies

Quick poll:

Does McKee get IR'd?

Would have rather got Pickett back.

Hurts needs to stay healthy

Expect more trades like this today and tomorrow. Howie needs to trade for guys before they are released.

Breer: This isn't an immediate precursor to Philly trading Tanner McKee. The Eagles LOVE McKee. However, there's been interest in the 25-year-old, and having Howell aboard gives the team flexibility if, for some reason, a big offer comes.

(And it also covers them with McKee's injury.)

Either McKee is more injured than thought or they are getting a decent haul for McKee and we’re not comfortable with what they had.

You cannot trade for Pickett and he wouldn't make through waivers to us

I think McKee is out for another 4-8 weeks is my guess

Suspect McKee broke a bone (likely finger) on his throwing hand. They likely wanted to see if McCord could function as the back up for a couple/few weeks and his performance Friday suggested otherwise. Depending on who the IR with a designation to return, I could see them doing that with Tanner or just moving McCord to the PS, which might happen anyway because that would be where he was headed anyway when McKee is healthy.

Something poetic about this trade given that they signed Wentz, whose rise allowed the Eagles to fleece trade Bradford to the Vikings.

Howell being traded three times in like 2 years is interesting.

Yea, people forget that dumb rule. You can’t trade for a player you traded away in the same season.

Howell stinks. Not a fan of trading a 5th for him

Both McCord and DTR have been quite unimpressive; I suspect McKee will be on the shelf for 6 weeks or so. The Eagles will have him on IR or PUP, and Howell gives the Eagles at least a semblance of a backup QB option.

And how each time is cheaper and cheaper

I think we actually paid more than the Vikings tho. They traded a 5 and got a 30 pick move back 5 back. Pretty similar. We traded a 5 and 7 for a 6. TBD how many picks apart the 5 and 6 are.
