I dunno, I think signing Huntley for a few weeks would have made a lot more sense than trading for Howell. I'm not upset at bringing Howell in, but Huntley is as plug and play at QB as they come.

He has a couple days head start on guys that get cut on Tuesday toward plan next. Unfortunately his tape from the Browns game is not going to be helpful.

How is this possible? If they are counting just DE, that's 7th out of 27 DE taken. OLB might make it an even deeper class.

He's not getting cut.

No one should have ever thought DTR would be any good.

Yup many of us knew that was the wrong pick

I’m not a Howie can do no wrong person but nitpicking last years draft seems wrong even if you’re right

Fans need to stop framing trade terms incorrectly, like "I don't like giving up a 5th." They also got a 6th, so they moved back 1 round in a draft where they have a lot of middle round picks, to have insurance at the most important position in football. Plus, Howie trades back a lot anyway. Throwing in a 7th 2 years from now is practically nothing.

Howell struggled in his one season starting for the whatevers, but it wasn't a good team.

Given he started ahead of Brissett, he's at least in the top half of backup QBs.

65 sacks, but his OL: Leno (32), Charles, Gates, Cosmi, Wylie

Robinson RB, McLaurin, Doston, Samuel at WR, Thomas at TE.

Next season Daniels takes over at QB Even with great mobility, he was sacked 47 times.

draft Coleman LT, Allegreti LG, Biadasz C.

Robinson RB, McLaurin, Zaccheaus, Brown, WR, Ertz TE

Dumped Howell, brought in Mariota as backup QB.

Supposedly throws a good deep ball, if he has to play, a lot of play action with throws down the field to keep defenses honest.

He'll probably be in hog heaven behind this offensive line after that season in Washington.

Definitely a reclamation project as well as insurance, and McCord should probably make it to the PS, it's not like teams are going to jump on a 6th rd pick with a so-so preseason performance, and Howell is 25, McCord is 23.

The league will always have guys like Winston, Fitzpatrick & Minshew…that’s what Howell seems to be on that trajectory.

Anything for Stout to work with here with Robinson?

Seems like he waiting to catch thr rusher instead of initiating contact

Which is correct.

EJ said this guy is a starter level QB in the league. Anyone who pays for PHLY is a sucker.

EJ is a moron. Going from Zach to him was a massive downgrade for their brand.

Agreed.

Toth could leave the team this minute and no one would even notice.

OL Depth is poor for the Birds, right now. We all love and respect Couch Stout, but, there's only so much he can do with the scraps that he's been given.

I would notice. He is not dominant but he is smart, technically sound, versatile, and strong. What do you want in a backup, pray tell and whom do you have in mind?

I always was taught the opposite but then again i was an LB…

I preferred if those tall guys waited to catch, but bull rush wasnt a move i had really

Guessing someone claims him?

Guessing he doesn't hit the waiver wire. He's the type of player you stash on the bottom rung of the roster and deactivate each week until he's ready. Meanwhile you use the PS to hold vets that you elevate as needed, especially with the new PS rules.

McCord showed nearly nothing, but DTR in much more opportunities (granted with a terrible Browns team) has shown even less.

He had a nice preseason game 3. Invisible other than that. These preseason grades are silly with guys going against non nfl players

That's ok. The regular season grades are just as silly, but some people spout them like gospel truth.

Hinton was the Eagles worst player in the preseason. Raw, but still.

Bad first ten snaps. Pretty good thereafter. Raw. Lots of physical talent. That’s what coaching is for.

Would love to see a Hard Knocks of that meeting:

"I’m sorry, Tyler. We’re going to go ahead and release you today”

"Coach — I outplayed that Sanders guy from the day I arrived in camp.”

"You sure did, buddy.”

You try to fire out against a talented rusher you’ll block a lot of air.

I went back and watched very snap he had this pre-season. 65-70% of the time on passing downs, he'd beat his man and was on the way to the quarterback. With a better secondary some of those turn in to sacks and as you saw he's very good at getting the ball on the ground. He bull rushed about 10-15% of the time and he was double teamed, chipped or actually blocked the rest.

The Browns had a lead so his 9 snaps were mostly run plays so nothing to do. He was unblockable in the first series against the Bengals until they started double teaming and chipping him. Even in this Jet's game, they were running the ball a lot even though they were trailing. The talent is there, the tape is there, it's just a question if the Eagles can/know how to use him effectively. Someone will snatch him up if they don't.

Fred Johnson back for a 2026 7th. That's nothing, but still. It was stupid to let him go. The Eagles seemingly had a great draft, but their free agency moves are not looking the best as it currently stands. Even with their limited budget it feels like they could have done more and over-corrected from 2018 bringing everyone back after winning a SB. And they thought "Let's let everyone go! Fresh blood!" Maybe went a little too far with that.

Another one

Thought it was a mistake that we let him walk for so cheap. He’s much better than what we have, which is pretty damning.
