I think I agree with most of this. Except maybe Young. He kinda sucks but a lot of guys have him making the team and I’m not sure why. Some think Dillon gets cut and re-signed but Berman has him making it. Keegan is interesting because many have him making it but he’s shown absolutely nothing and doesn’t seem to have a ton of upside. I could see the Eagles signing or claiming someone and cutting him later.

So... RTK or ESP?

Worse… and they’re basically ALL like that.

You know Howie is always - always - looking for ways to improve the team. Whether we agree with every move or not specifically, he is keenly aware of the needs on the roster and looking for ways to improve.

The Eagles once traded a scrub quarterback to the Browns (I think) for a future 8th round pick. The next year the league reduce the draft from 8 rounds to 7 so they ended up getting nothing at all. It felt unfair.

Damn, your recollection never ceases to amaze.

Sure sign that if an Eagles backup QB plays, they will look like an all pro

If Dickerson is out week 1, who’s the starting LG?

Probably Toth, which is why if he gets cut it’s probably an indicator that Dickerson is playing. If neither, then probably Pryor.

All teams are more vulnerable when they have to go to the backup QB.

Don't forget with the expanded PS, 4-5 spots will go to veteran depth in case of injury.

I think Toth is probably headed for one, they can overpay him and he can decide to stay unless he likes an offer frm another team, and he may be looking at a future in coaching (so he'd want to sit at the feet of the master).

The ideal guys for that role are older veterans who are less likely to be claimed but have enough experience to fill in for a couple of weeks in case of injury.

You use your last seven spots for developmental players you think might be claimed on waivers (they won't dress but they'll practice and learn, and hopefully some will be ready after the bye week).

No point stashing marginal veterans there, the difference is instead of signing these guys off the street, you can put them on the PS to practice with the team.

Howie knows value, got a 6th for Kinnard. That opens a spot for Hinton or Keegan, instead of wasting a spot on Kinnard who was unlikely to dress.

Lamm probably comes down to team doctors - if they think his back will improve, they'll find a PS spot for him.

I didn't say any edge, I said another Edge. Any one who fits the scheme would fit that criteria.

My point wasn’t directed at you, but rather the rather limited size of the pool of possibilities.

It should be Pryor but the beats didn’t see him practicing there so could be a Toth call up if he’s not on 53

WTH is he talking about? They are 3 deep.

Perhaps second most talent. It is the team aspect that I’m questioning. Talent is individual. Team is collective. They could surprise me.

I think he’s saying if McKee is out. Of course they are now stronger than they were when the day started but sure they are vulnerable if Howell is their QB. That’s sort of a given.

Meanwhile someone better be on scout team this week in the event Joe Milton III or Will Grier have to play!

Was that scrub QB Brad Goebel?

I think so. I also think I may have been mistaken when I said he was traded for an 8th which was eliminated. I think he may have been traded for a 9th that became null when the league cut back from twelve rounds to eight. Effectively the same point though.

Thanks but I think I had my fact mixed up a bit.

Compared to the first two QBs ok, but I think he would be fine. They'd lean on the run game and he can make throws. Having the weapons they have should make any competent QB look better. I'd feel better than I did with KP last year.

I agree. I’ve always thought Howell was decent. Wouldn’t want him as a starter but seems like a solid backup to me

Well said. They tried, but fixed the situation and they now have that swing tackle that lets them release a few people. Now trade for Rodgers with the Vikings 😂

Or Slay

Detroit is more talented so not second. But remains to be seen what losing Ben does to them
