For any significant cost of an Edge trade, I kinda think at some point a McKee trade recoups those picks and probably helps them find an heir to Lane Johnson.

Yeah, that seems like the result of more or less sitting out the free agent period in order to hoard some comp picks for their own lost free agents -- that left some bottom of the roster holes that they are now filling.

I dont really want to waste time on Phillips who has played 12 games in the past 2 years. Walker, or someone else on that level not mentioned. Howie can figure in 1 big swing this year.

Yeah I get it’s an unlikely scenario. It would almost have to be a handshake deal with another team who isn’t going to get comp picks to give them an opportunity to gain a pick while we improve our own.

Tbh i think makes the most sense to trade for an edge. Tried to go FA route with uche and Aziz and doesn’t appear like it’s good enough for their liking. Guys available with draft capital we have. Imo at corner guys like rasul Douglas, Samuel and Gilmore are still Unsigned that they might see what they look like with Jackson, Bennett and ringo for a week or two then if still an issue sign one or then potentially trade.

A super physical CB like Bennett will look great if our pass rush can be great and limit QBs time. Theyll want to hit us with those quick throws, but Bennett will still be mugging their WRs at the line when they want to get the ball out.

I think that’s probably their belief of why they are going after an edge and are ok with what they have at corner now. And fact they just added Bennett. If in a couple weeks if corner still an issue is when i think they’d look to address cb.

I’m not a Bennett stan but I do think when gets his feet under him in defense he’s pretty close to Isaiah Rodgers who I think is getting a bit overrated now

there may come a point in time where Samuel is healthy enough to take visits. If we arent ok at CB, maybe that opportunity comes around.

McCord played better than his stats looked. He didnt have the same opportunities that DTR did even though DTR played with backups too.

McCord definitely made his share of mistakes. But he still flashed potential. Much more so than DTR did.

I actually liked that trade. I think he can be a no. 2 corner. However i think coming here and learning the defense it’s gonna take time. That said i also think if second corner is a probably after a few weeks i do think they’ll look for outside help

I dont think so. Just needed to be paying attention. Not every incompletion was bad. Some were great throws.

But its not just that he had no help. Worse yet, he had weapons out there actively sabotaging his stats.

The INT in the last game was horrible, no doubt.

Im really surprised that knowing what DTR was, the eagles didnt give McCord the better pre-season snaps. What a waste it was to give those to DTR.
