The thing about some of these kids particularly the developmental OL is that camp is about 5 weeks and they practice on the field maybe 6 hours a week so they are only getting 30 hours of field practice to develop. A lot of the decision making is still a projection and it should be that way

What’s up, guys? I’ve been quiet on here lately. The truth is, I’ve been going through a rough stretch with my mental health. I wasn’t sure whether to say anything, but with June being Men’s Mental He

Has Young even been said to have had a good camp?

As an aside: Bradyn Swinson was cut. Eagles passed on him several times in the draft though, so they may just not like him.

That's because he stinks

I knew that. Just more frustrated with myself on the mix up.

Yea, I know you did. I was really just putting it out there for anyone that might be confused with the trivial things like that.

The weakest bottom of the roster in quite some time. I don’t care about anyone we cut and don’t really care about the bottom two or three that we kept.

So they don't want to tell us who the PR is before the Dallas game for competitive advantage. Can't let Dallas know who's going to fair catch or get 4 yards.

Reno Mahe comeback!

I'm curious who the bottom 2 are on the roster who still aren't safe when Howie makes moves.

Keegan and Williams. Maybe Young too but he's flashed a bit. Roster is rock solid at a number of positions. Good sign.

Setting aside the Fangio "I want 6 DTs” comment, Young is #53 for me.

The changes in Practice Squad rules has made it both easier and more practical to have depth Veterans on the Practice Squad.

Eh, I think you get safety plus upside with Covey at PR. You can throw pretty much any RB back there at KR and get something passable. A liability at PR can lose you games; a dynamic PR can win you games. I'd run it back with Covey and try to replace him again next year.

I am not sure you get safety with Covey. He's very fragile. I think you get 4 weeks out of him before he's busted up again.

I agree that a liability at PR can lose you games (Greg Lewis).

I also agres that a dynamic PR can win you games (Desean Jackson, Brian Westbrook).

Covey is neither. He's steady, but not dynamic.

Keegan, probably. Maybe Cameron Williams. Byron Young if they replace him with another iDL

Semantics on the "dynamic” part. He’s not those guys, but his best is highly above average. And he can actually catch the damn ball, which Ainias Smith couldn’t do consistently.

I haven't question the importance of having a guy who could just catch the ball after the JR Reed punt vs Green Bay. I was in a hotel and I'm pretty sure people on the ground floor heard me yelling WTF

I’m mildly surprised Cam Williams made the 53 man. He seemed liked a long term project nobody wanted during the draft

Practice squad expectations

They seem to like him enough to protect him and not leave him to dangle on waivers. He can take up spot #53 like Mailata did for 2 years and work with Stout. Hopefully they found something with him. The new PS rules make stashing vet depth on the PS easy and you don't have to expose certain young players to the waiver wire.

18 out of the 21 players drafted from 2022 through 2024 are still with the team, including the entire 2023 class.

100%. That’s why I’ve been against Ainias Smith making the roster and I wouldn’t even waste a PS spot on him. Cleanly fielding a punt is one of the most "you have it or you don’t” traits in the league.

Makes sense. Maybe the take away is that Stoutland saw enough to say he has the attitude and talent to work with. He seemed less than enthused when we drafted him.

He's on the released list. He has way too many years to be waived

I think they bring him back to the PS... if he wants to.

Yea, I'd think Keegan is the 53 guy. 11 guys on O-line is a lot, with Hinton presumably coming back at some point also.

I'd think so, I'm not even sure who the backup Nickel is right now? McWilliams? They moved him around a lot for a 5th round rookie.

Keegan's rather anonymous camp and place on the 53 suggests he's well liked by Stout for the things we as fans don't see from the outside.

11 and two of them are absolute scrubs.
