Fred Johnson escaped on a technicality

Were they going to cut him? I have no idea who they have on their O-line that pushes him out.

The Bengals only kept 8 OL. Seems bad.

Whose gonna die?

Looking at cuts around the league, these are the names Id be interested in.

I dont think Ive seen lists for all 32 teams yet but...

Edge- Casey Toohill, Mohamed Kamara, Ahmed Hassanein, Clelin Ferrell

OG- Former eagles super bowl champ Josh Sills. Was he any good? I dont remember. I just remember the rape allegation that he was cleared of.

La'El Collins- is he washed?

C- Dylan McMahon

TE- Jelani Woods, CJ Dippre,

S- Khalef Hailassie, Marcus Epps

KR- Gary Brightwell (RB)

Not a guy Im interested in but a surprising name Texans cut Damon Arnette. Remember he was supposed to be a 1st round talent at CB who had major legal trouble. No idea what kind of player he became. I guess the kind who gets cut.

Can teams only claim one or do the top teams get everyone they want?

They can claim as many as they want

I forget, can teams claim a guy then trade him? Like can the Eagles ask the Titans to claim someone and then trade a 7th for him?

I believe it works similar to cutting them. If you claim them, they have to sit on your roster for a certain number of weeks before they can be cut. So, I would assume they couldn't be traded until that same window expires, if they can even do it at all. PLUS... I believe when the Titans claim a player, they go to the back of the line again. They don't get first dibs on all the players, just one. After this window, I think it resets every week after that based on current record. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I think this is how it works and this is in place to stop teams at the back end from doing exactly what you are suggesting.

Britain Covey was the only Eagles free agent to sign elsewhere and not make the team

Fred Johnson sits in the grey area on this statement. He didn't make the Jags.

True, but their 9th guy was likely worse than our 12th guy. Their 5th guy might have been worse than our 8th guy for that matter. They are a crap OL. So, why bother keeping guys that suck on the roster just so that you have more guys. If they have an injury, they can poach a PS for a guy that's likely better than anyone they just waived.

That's what their local beats said about him.

And they would get every single one before it went to the next team? For example if the #12 team put in 3 claims and nobody but them and the Eagles at #32 had claims for those players they wouldn't get any?

But they'd have to cut someone for each player they added.

Even bad teams don't have that many players worse that what is on the street right now.

18 out of the 21 players drafted from 2022 through 2024 are still with the team, including the entire 2023 class.

Ringo and Brown seem to be on borrowed time at this point, especially Ringo. They both better keep bringing it as ST demons.

Dallas with their terrible O-line gave up on the Collin’s reunion so, yea, he’s washed.

As Howie says, not done. First we see who was claimed at noon tomorrow and then the PS is assembled. But the final initial roster isn’t set until after the first game. Best thing I got out of Howie’s presser is that we can now refer to Ogbo as OO.

Makes sense. Maybe the take away is that Stoutland saw enough to say he has the attitude and talent to work with. He seemed less than enthused when we drafted him.

In Stout I trust in regards to OL. But, they put Mailata on a layaway plan. If we get anything close to that return on Williams, its a no brainer. I think Stout has earned the right to reserve roster spot 53 for a long shot developmental prospect.

I'd rather keep Keegan than a 3rd TE.

They have 11 + Hinton right now. Keegan can’t get reps over Brett freaking Toth right now, and he’s a far less intriguing developmental option than Williams. Seems to be the clear 53rd guy.

I thought Granson flashed during the preseason. Great execution on the pick play TD, that nice sideline catch, easy mover. Probably would prefer a blocking TE tho

No. You are thinking of claiming someone off another practice squad. You can claim them and cut them the next day but you have to cut someone else to make room for them.

They also don’t go back to the end of the line. Waiver order stays the same until Week 3 or 4 when it resets to current standings.

Right, but I'm trying to figure out if every team ahead of the Eagles gets all the players they want even if it's multiple players before one would be granted to them.

Yea but then that team is cutting 3 of its own players that made their 53

Just for reference, Carolina claimed 6 players off waivers last year after cutdown day. It’s the benefit of being the worst team in the league.

Kenyon Green trade off
