I agree with all of these. I was a Milton Williams guy, but Ty Robinson was my draft crush for months. I think he can come in and give you what Williams did and more right away.

The fact that Kendall was the best pure center in the draft is a bit confusing. Why take a player who's the best at his position that has no chance of playing that position...or is there any chance they put him at center and Jurgens at RG? No way in my mind, but just trying to make sense of the thought process.

Mondon is a player.

In the 5th round, if you can land a player that fits the description you just gave, you jump at it and figure out what to do with him later. They absolutely have a need at backup center, and they filled it with a guy that might be a starter someday, if not here, elsewhere. Who would possibly be a better choice at that moment of the draft?

The goal of the draft is to add as much talent as you possibly can. You worry about what to do with all that talent later, especially in the 5th or later. Give Stoutland the pieces and let him figure it out. Trust the Stoutland.

Not having an adequate backup Center can potentially be a recipe for disaster. I was nervous all last year after they cut the rook

If Dickerson and Cam weren't as tough as they come the Eagles were in big trouble in the NFC CG.

Are you really a Milton Williams guy if you suggested trading him like a year ago?

If you can use a late pick to get the best player in the draft at a specific, non kicker position, you do it.

Sure, he’s probably gone in 4 years. So what? You now have the absolute best depth in the entire NFL at center between Jurgens, Kendall and Dickerson for emergencies.

Lots of flexibility to get the best players on the field.

So it's safe to say Jihaad will not be ready by training camp and might not be ready until the start the season or into the season.

The only reason I suggested trading him was when they couldn't come to a contract extension agreement. I love Milton Williams the player, and at that point it was as an asset. He was my #1 guy to re-sign this year, until I saw the contract he signed in NE.

Does anybody actually listen to this guys show in the morning? He is the most insufferable, whining, stupid a** moron on the planet. The best part is that most of what he does is lecture fans about how "dumb they are and how smart he is." I remember him saying last offseason that the Eagles overpaid for Saquon Barkley and should've signed Aaron Jones instead. He says stupid things like this all of the time yet ishes all over fans for having any opinion that differs from his. He has been on a rant since friday morning that Campbell isn't a LB and that they brought him in to be an edge rusher and when he had BLG on and talked about this BLG said he's an off ball LB who will rush the passer at times and good old Johnny Mac wouldn't let it go. You could tell by the way he asked the question he was so sure BLG would agree with him and then he basically kept trying to get him to say Campbell is an edge rusher. Dude is INSUFFERABLE.

I think on Tuesday(?), they brought in their draft expert and the guy basically said Campbell is a LB that might be able to do some edge stuff.

It’s like McMullen didn’t even listen at all, and just announced at the end of the interview "sounds like Van Ginkel to me”.

To be fair a lot of people said we overpaid for Barkley before the season started

Not many will likely admit it though lol

Different expression.

Ditka, Mackey, Witten and Newsome did it all. Gronk was a decent blocker.

Gonzalez was a big WR lined up close to the OL.
Kelce, Sharpe and Gates fit the Gonzalez mold.

And Winslow was the first of the WR type TEs.

Sanders, Casper and Smith were before my time and I haven't investigated them enough to be able to answer that.

But, if you're asking... Goedert isn't even close to these guys. And Ertz doesn't belong either unless it really is going to be the Hall of Very Good.

The reason that I was asking was is as follow up to a discussion in another thread about replacing Goedert. The back and forth dialogue started with a comparison of Calcaterra and Goedert, with Calcaterra falling way short on in line blocking. I put forward the following propositions, (1) that there was only one player in this recent Draft who could block as well as Goedert and be as dangerous as Ertz and Goedert as a receiver, and (2) that you can count the number of current NFL tight ends on two hands with fingers left over who can inline block as well as Goedert and be a plus receiving threat.

It occurred to me that looking at the TE stars in the HOF might be worthwhile.

To the best of my knowledge there is only one such expression, but I’ll do a google search to verify that.

Well, it was a dream of mine for Barkley to wear Eagles' green since he first showed up in Happy Valley.

Twain, who apparently got this whole thing started, actually said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics". Things took off from there.

And that was yet a different expression.
