Wrong. I said they cut McMahon because he doesn’t have guard versatility. The next year they drafted a center who does.

Kendall needing to be able to play guard in a pinch isn’t even a debate. It’s neon sign obvious. He’s significantly bigger than McMahon, hence my "contrast” comment.

Lampkin is an extreme outlier body type at any position on the OL, that’s the whole reason a player of his quality went undrafted. He needs to be good enough at guard to be one of the 8ish active guys on game day (not necessarily this year, but if he’s gonna stick). If the Eagles weren’t at least curious enough to try him at guard, they wouldn’t have claimed him.

They may see Lampkin as a specialist player, if Kendall can play OG in a year, Lampkin can back up at center and also play FB.

Read what you said that I responded to and I bolded.

Yep, that's the only caveat IMO

You said that they have had very little interest in Center-only players. They drafted one just last year. Then you immediately pivoted to a different argument... about long term starters, yada yada. You don't draft a guy that's a center only if you have no interest in that, especially right after you drafted and elevated a young center to be the foundation of the OL for the foreseeable future. The timing of the selection of McMahon would put a pretty big hole in the argument that the team had very little interest in a center only. They had some level to draft McMahon. Kendall was equally considered a center only in the draft process, and while he played some snaps at OG in the preseason, I wouldn't say he thrived there. Maybe @just relax sees something different in Kendall.

I only watched the second half against the Browns, when Kendall played guard. He was terrible there. He got overpowered several times, whiffed on several plays. He looked lost. And he has to get much stronger. Odd that he should be so bad there, because he was quite competent at center. I'm not saying he can't ever play guard, but not this season.

Lampkin played OG exclusively at UNC. I would think they may see some versatility for him. He plays with so much leverage and reach, I don't think his size is an issue.

You definitely need a lot more girth and strength to play G in this era

That's pretty much what I saw. Thanks for the confirmation.

Since Willie is only 5'10" I figured I'd fill out my RAS since I'm clearly a better prospect in terms of Height and weight.

Hand Size: Smaller than Picketts

Arm length: Less than APR's

Height: Taller than Willie

Weight: More than Willie

Bench: Please, I think I need to sit

Vertical: These feet don't leave the floor

Broad: Blonds mostly

40 YD Dash: 4.34 ... Minutes

20 YD Split: Uh no

10 YD Split: no also

Shuttle: Yes please

3 Cone: Butter Pecan, Mint Choc Chip and Cookie Dough

RAS Score: -53.5

That's a great 3 cone.

Do we still not have a LS? They gonna give Lampkin a week to train for it?

They've previously shown very little interest in C-only players, and he's definitely not beating out Jurgens.

As for the contrast between Kendall and McMahon... we are talking about 1 inch and 10 lbs. Not exactly Mailata to Lampkin level contrast.

I don't think they have much in common. Lampkin is never playing G

I agree that Lampkin doesn’t overlap with Keegan, but Kendall does. Having Lampkim will allow Stoutland the luxury of emphasizing G more than C for Kendall.

With Lampkin being this athletic freak, maybe he can be the long-snapper.

Interesting idea.

Charley Hughlett is the long snapper.

But we are talking about his time with the Eagles whwre he played under two different DCs and had 6 interceptions each season here.

You are talking about only those cherry picked years, but many people are looking at the whole CJGJ career.

And possibly Long Snapper.

In the short term.

A 5.27 forty FB? Seems unlikely. If Lampkin is ever active, it might be as a sixth OL.

Honestly I think they are going to IR to return Lampkin since he's injured and sign a non OL. Long term I don't know what they view Lampkin as but I'm not going to over index on Stoutland's projects. He gets to pick then we'll see what happens. Most will fail just out of general odds

This is not the finished roster and I anticipate 50% of the PS won’t finish the season with the Eagles.

Not talking about cherry picked years. Talking about the years which CJGJ has been here. When people talk about him being a ballhawk for us they are talking about when he played here, not elsewhere.

They would have had to keep him on the 53 to start
