If Howie makes another move what position and who? Trying to think what types of players Vic likes on defense. Is Jermaine Johnson a Vic type of player? Is Justin Simmons still an option with Mukuba? Will he wait until roster cut downs or trade for someone with all the extra draft capital

If he does and he may not, probably trade for an Edge.

When did they win it though? Was it the DeJean pick 6? The Baun INT and Brown TD to follow? The dagger? When it became 40-6? No real drama after that and the game just fizzled out. I was completely checked out at 40-6 myself.

The win is when the clock ticks 0 at the end of the 4th.

I get it though. I was in celebration mode from halftime on too. Still, the final call was disappointing, especially when it’s what he gets paid to do. It’s just disappointing after the fact when you hear the call and try to reminisce but it’s just so dull and flat.

Merrill is getting up there, it's sad to say, but his calls aren't going to have the gusto that they used to. Also, if you see the both views of the calls he gets a lot of help because of his age. Spotters pointing out things to him, etc. He still has good energy, but it isn't what it used to be.

I was able to visit the Museum of the Marine Corps. One of the things that stuck with me was a mannequin wearing an authentic uniform from the early days of the Corps. Those adult men were small by modern standards.

They were almost the same height as we are today but we outweigh them by about 35 poinds. Army records document this.

If you could guarantee two of the following Eagles in 2025 would play really well, which two would you choose:

Jalyx Hunt

Kelee Ringo

Tyler Steen

Jihaad Campbell

Andrew Mukuba

Azeez Ojulari

Moro Ojomo

Jordan Davis

Ty Robinson

Ringo or the secondary will be a problem

Hunt because they need pressure from the edge

Passing league (and It's which comes first, the chicken or the egg....meaning does locking down receivers allow the DL to get home or does the DL getting home quick help the DB's?).....I'm going the secondary....so Ringo and Mukuba. If they played really well, the secondary is totally complete, would not allow easy passes and whoever is on the DL will feast. Especially lining up with Carter and Smith. And I expect huge things from Campbell, but.....Baun in the middle will be a huge help to anyone playing LB next to him. Steen would be great but we already know 4 out of 5 are guaranteed to play really well........

Mine was Ringo and Hunt or Ringo and Ojomo.

Oh no doubt, but he's still a top announcer. I think the spotters are one of the more fascinating things to watch. Player numbers, ads, etc. It's a behind the scenes ballet of sort.

Yeah, I was close to picking some DT but with Carter we just need a guy to play well there not really well vs the edge where they need pressure. Baun is there at LB and the rest of the OL is good. If Ringo plays very well with Mitchell, Coop, and Ghost then not having another stud at safety should be alright. They all need to play well, but in regards to the question of needing someone to play very well edge and CB would be my pick.

Yeah, you can tell he’s struggling to see/process at times so he’s almost buying time for someone to tell him who it was who made the catch or recovered the fumble, etc. Father Time is undefeated.

Harlan is so good at both football and basketball. Here’s his call of LIX.

And the Chiefs’ radio call…

Historically height did not change a lot through the ages but as health and nutrition increased over the last two centuries, there was a gradual increase in height but the trend has been slowing for decades. Overall average height has increased slightly but, of course, that differs globally by region and conditions.

Why limit ourselves to just two. All of the above plus all the rest of the team.

Snow game is on NFLN.

Speaking of all-time Philly sports announcers. 19 years ago. Aaron Rowand was such an underrated player here.

I’m going through the thread of Harlan’s SB play by play… he might be the best in the business. He really nails the moments.

In other news, Jordan Mailata is retiring to tour (jk) with Chris Stapleton (for you folks that don’t listen to Country, you’re really missing out):

HK will always have a special place in my heart. Franzke filled his shoes very well though.

Hunt to expand the upside of the team and Ringo to limit the downside/vulnerability of the team.

Steen can be just OK and the O-Line as a whole can still be great.

Ojulari is a temporary fix with only a one-year contract. Off he balls out, and I would love to see that happen, then he gets very expensive by comparison for Howie at the end of the season.

Ojomo is in a similar situation to Ojulari.

When I got the list down to three, Davis was the third with Hunt and Ringo. I would love to see Davis take a leap forward in his is game, but Hunt has more upside IMO and Ringo represents more vulnerability for the team … and if Davis does take the leap, he is in the same contract situation as Ojulari and Ojomo.

Robinson, Mukuba and Campbell are all rookies. They will be on my list next season.

I would argue that in the US because of the migration to so many processed foods the trend of increased height has completely stopped, if not slightly regressed. That pattern is accompanied by massive increases in obesity and significant increases in autism.

I suspect there is some truth to that.

Steen and Campbell. Keep a rock solid OL and have two Pro bowl level off-ball LBs and you’re just about guaranteed to be very strong on both sides of the ball

Happy Mothers Day to everyone!
