Wow, massive blow for the NFL Network. He has been there since the start. He's a huge reason they have the best pregame show of any network.

Eisen's irrational Shedeur fixation NOW makes a lot more sense. It was always more on brand with ESPN reporting.

C’mon Goodell, show real parity and schedule the cowpads and Lions Thanksgiving games overseas. Americans love to travel during that holiday.

Don't count on it. It's one game, and that's all it’s ever been. I expect the exact same approach in the preseason, and possibly even a gentler approach given the number of extra games they played last season. They seem very happy with using the first month of the season to round into shape and given their recent success, I don't anticipate any change in the process. Frankly, given the recent success, changing the process would be ludicrous. Don't fix what ain't broke.

You could be right. It will be interesting to watch.

Also, with the Cowboys playing on Thanksgiving and now opening night, this is yet another year where Cowboys won't have to play a road Thursday game on short rest.

I don't understand why they get this advantage every single year.

The NFL is tired of getting Eagles/Cowboys backup QB games. Maybe Dak won’t be hurt by Week 1 this year.

Not during the first half at least ..... maybe

People try to discredit this as oh Hurts is just the QB so he isn't a reason why he has beat all these QBs. I was curious so I decided to compile his stats in these 10 games.

Hurts in those 10 games: 67.6% completion, 2,002 yards, 10 TD passes, 4 interceptions, 98.5 QB rating, 465 rushing yards, 15 rushing TDs and 1 lost fumble.

So 2,467 total yards, 246.7 ypg, 25 total TDs, 2.5 TD per game and 5 total turnovers 0.5 turnovers per games when facing off against the other top QBs in the NFL.

I mean, we all know why. They are the NFL's golden boy franchise. They get special treatment. They also haven't played a game overseas in years. Everyone knows it's true, but people don't like saying it because people don't like to accept that their leagues(to varying extents) are gamed for and against specific teams, because no fan wants to lose confidence that the leagues are played fairly.

Dallas has been a league darling for a long time. They have a ridiculously large following for a team that hasn't really been relevant for the better part of 3 decades.

Money and idiots across the country who like them because of hype and their crap being available in stores across the country along with the Steelers and Raiders.

Can Bengals afford him? Didn't they just give 2 mega contracts to their WRs?

Yup. It's like some folks haven't caught up with the fact that the 1970s are long past.

"He will remain the featured host on NFL Network’s "GameDay” and its draft coverage. He also calls select regular-season games for the network."

Honestly, opening with Dallas is disappointing to me. I'd rather have gone with the Lions or the Rams (the Bills game is in Buffalo, and the Chiefs are on the road as well). The defending champs have done very well in the Thursday openers (15-5), so I'd rather have drawn a tougher opponent where we have an advantage. Dallas is a team we should handle -- honestly, how many Dallas players would start on the Eagles? On offense...maybe Tyler Smith over Landon, but that's a draw in my mind. I'd take AJ over Ceedee and Smitty over Pickens. On defense, I'll say Micah over Nolan for sure, and I'll say Fowler over Hunt. Donovan Wilson over Mukuba as well for now. So 3 on defense, and maybe 1 on offense.

EDIT: Bland over Ringo, so 4 on defense

Wife and I have been planning on heading up for the opener since the Super Bowl win. We did it in 2018 to see the first banner raised, and had such a great time that we're going to bring the kids this time.

I've been to several Eagles games, but never a Cowboys game.

It's going to be an insane tailgate scene and I'm ready for all of it!

Giving them the advantage in every matchup that's remotely close:

Offense:

Lamb over Brown

Tolbert over Dotson

Smith over Dickerson

Defense:

Fowler over Hunt

Parsons over Smith

Bland over Ringo

Wilson over Mukuba

I can't think of another that would even be debatable. And even some of those are questionable.

Man, that is brutal for Dallas. Have to play at a division rival as they hoist the banner as reigning champs. That's cruel and unusual punishment. I'm so looking forward to it but it does suck for them. I would love for us to put up 50 and even further demoralize them to start the season but we will have our own issues I'm sure. Jalen with yet another offensive coordinator and system.

They are unlikely to have Diggs, and almost no chance they have Overshown for week 1. Their offensive line, away from Smith, is terrible and they can't stop the run at all.
