I tend to agree but to say they ”crapped the bed”, which you didn’t say, is just wrong. They filled the hospital beds is more like it.

P.S. The game would have been in Detroit.

I said it. And on that day... they were awful. They were quite impressive in the regular season finale. And quite awful in the Divisional Round. Call it whatever you want.

Agreed… The Lions did have an incredible amount of injuries on the defensive side last year.

I do reserve the right, however, to say that Goff still has the potential to crap the bed in any ‘big game’

3 INTs. That's a nice sized. 💩

If the Lions are healthy they can beat anyone, us included. At the end of last season they weren't.

Maybe. They would not have been ready for a D that dominant IMO

That's the point. They broke the rules and as a result weren't able to celebrate their selection to the HOF.

All the NFL personalities on TV have suddenly forgot about RG3's great rookie season. The way they praise Daniels with "we've never seen anything like it" is hilarious to me, considering RG3 had his standout rookie year with the same organization. Also, they both had similar success with winning rookie of the year and being mentioned as MVP candidates. RG3 actually won the nfc east while Daniels fell short. Obviously, Jayden had a much more impressive postseason than RG3, but I chalk that up due to the injury which RG3 never really recovered from.

RG3 never recovered from his ego…not the injury. I honestly don’t think his style of play was repeatable though…whether abuse by the OC or his inabilities.

The Lions biggest issue is their QB. He did crap the bed. I'd put Hurts up against Goff in a game where both teams have great defenses and take Hurts 4/5 times.

And if he were a neutral party, his opinion would count for more. But, instead, it just sounds like sour grapes that the Lions didn't get that platform. Just a sad 'look at me' type post. The Lions got a lot of pub last year as they put up the best record in the NFC last year... then they crapped the bed in their first playoff game.

They have 2 playoff wins since 1991. In other words... they aren't all that.

Eh to me it would be sour grapes on the Saints level if he said "we would beat the Eagles". He didn't. He just pointed out that most fans would probably prefer to watch a matchup between the 2 best teams in the NFC. I've got no ill will towards him for wanting that challenge.

And IMO I think he's right. I bet if you polled NFL fans league wide asking what matchup they'd like to see most opening day (excluding their home team of course) Eagles vs Lions would easily be a top 3 response.

The conversation has been going on since the Super Bowl ended. It started with Amon-Ra St. Brown. By claiming that the Eagles need to start the next season against a "REAL TEAM", he's claiming that they are better. Arnold is just following suit.

I’m all for players chirping and adding layers to the game. Jared Verse is one of the bigger Philly villains for doing just that. So let the Lions puff their chest.

Of course this is assuming it’s mostly harmless and talk more than anything. When players like Luvu start playing dirty it becomes a problem.

RG3 never learned how to avoid hits, either. He wasn’t a big guy and took some hellacious shots. His body wasn’t going to hold up.

Eh that might be a no no for advertising purposes but that's up to the bosses around here

I suspect there may be legal reasons as well. Remember the blurb before each games about the game being property of the NFL and no one may rebroadcast etc. etc. If the NFL would license whoever to broadcast the game, then it would fine but they'd be competing with Fox, CBS, Amazon Prime or whoever. Otherwise it's no different from movie piracy or music piracy. If the pirate isn't making any money I imagine that determines how much effort the League is going to put into stopping it but it's still not legal. At least that's my take not knowing any more than any other schmo about it.

All I know is Reddit used to have forums for streaming with links until all of a sudden those forums were banned and users who posted links were banned as well. I don’t think it’s hard to figure out why.

Your last point is often overlooked. In Detroit is no joke. Every Detroit game I watched last year that stadium was LOUD. They have a reinvigorated fan base similar to when the Phillies started making the playoffs again.

That would be an under the radar good signing for them

The Commies did have a number of last minute winner sort of games last season, and they never repeat year on year - just like fumbles and who recovers them. And as someone has said, a year of game tape usually has teams identifying flaws in all players.

Not to say that Daniels won't do well and prove to be a very good QB. I do think at this point that he is probably a more threatening QB than Dak is.

I have a different view of Daniels. I’m a believer.

KC’s OL was dreadful. Just brutal. The Lions’ OL is very very good…when healthy. Best center in the league, for starters. It would have been a different game, a helluva game with both teams healthy.

I’m getting a chuckle here about folks, on the one hand running down the Lions and, on the other hand, running down Daniels, who beat them. It seems that everyone is overrated except us.

Live look at Michkov's offseason.

Washington seemed to deal with it just fine. 🤷‍♂️ I guess it would have been possible for the Eagles to do that same thing.

Different people run down different teams/players. Its rarely the same people doing everything.

yeah. Id be disappointed to see him go there. Really think we should have interest.

We can disagree. The Chiefs line was good enough to get them to a SB and nobody has made Mahomes look like that since his rookie year. That was one of the top 5 SB defenses of all time. Regardless of how good their line is they wouldn't have stood up to it. They got their asses kicked by DC and would have lost multiple other games if it wasn't for refs bailing them out. They were way overhyped.

I'd say having the trophy means everyone was overrated other than us.

Det likely would have squashed Wash if they hadnt been so depleted By injury. Goff was admittedly terrible that day.

Daniels was my #1 qb in that draft, but I think people are yet again falling into the trap of thinking good is the same thing as exciting to watch. He has alot of developing to do, but seems like a real talent with high character. Could be excellent some day. Not so close to that yet.
