They have. Hope they do again. I think the Eagles will ultimately be better than them again this year. I'm just not sure it will be week 2, but maybe guys learning will be covered by the others who have a year in his system.

Again you are only looking at the Eagles side of the equation. What about the issues the Chiefs face?

That is only one side of the story. What "questions " do the Chiefs have?

Same questions they have every year that Andy, Spags, and Pat cover.

How do we not have any back to back home games? But two instances of back to back away games?

9 away games and 8 home games with the season beginning and ending at home.

They have made 4 out of the last 5 SBs with issues. Unless you have the Eagles 17-0 they are going to lose games. Chiefs on the road early with young players seems like one to me. That could change by August.

He already said this week the Eagles will take a step back. Love it.

TBF, when you win it all it’s impossible to take another step forward.

Kind of true but...two in a row is a big step towards dynasty! :)

Luckily for Nola the Eagles schedule dropped today

And, the Phillies won game 1. He was bad.

He's a problem this year. I'm not sure what the issue is, but he'd better fix it or he might get the Taijuan Walker treatment in the post-season.

Gonna win the SB and get blown out by the Bucs again haha

I'll happily make that trade.

How does that work? Does Sky have a couple games a week that you can't see live on Gamepass? Viasat/Viaplay has some games over here but everything is still available live on Gamepass.

That's Sky for you. The blackout used to be all Sunday games, but thankfully they have budged a bit since then. They don't want to lose ratings and subs, so I'd think pay more for the privilege, even as a fan, its stupid to have that in 2025.

Blackouts are the dumbest thing in sports. "Let me make it harder for people to watch my programming!" Who needs more viewers?" When I can't watch the eagles on Sunday ticket I just pirate the game

Not that it's going to happen, but how awesome would it be to be the first 3-peat after stopping KC from doing it lol

Agreed… it’s not like the NBA lottery is a new thing… The NFL has had a long time to consider it, and they haven’t thought it was a good idea yet. But you always hear this talk right after the NBA lottery

It was so awesome watching the 3 worst teams not get any of the 3 best picks thus widening the chasm between the haves and have nots. And Dallas gets the top pick despite only having a 1.8% chance.

Yeah, lets implement that!

Funny and true.

I was listening to YouTube clips of it and he started with being down on SB again, which is great since he is wrong so often.

Congrats to you. Personally, I'm very happy with more 1PM Sunday games. They are my preference.

Same.

Because that's my daughters naptime and I can actually watch the game lol

Alright, more 1pm games than I expected - and unless the Raiders become decent it looks like they are safe from being shifted.

Good for my circadian rhythm and such.

3 things I think:

He absolutely can't pitch out of the stretch. His velocity on his fastballs drops into the 80s frequently out of the stretch. He gets hammered out of the stretch. It's been an issue for years, but much worse to begin this season.

Velocity- he can hit 94 ish on occasion, but lives in the 90-93 range with a full windup.

His sinker's bite has diminished, leaving it up in the zone too often. A sinker that doesn't sink is a hard hit ball.

Only good thing is his curveball remains elite.

Chiefs get Rashee Rice back eho they didn't have.

Things I don't like about the schedule:

4 of our 9 games after the bye are on short weeks.

Don't love the Thursday night Giants game after the Broncos game- Broncos have a tough, physical defense.

Don't love playing Packers/Lions back to back, with the Lions gamr on a short week for us (Pack is monday night in GB)- though Lions play the Commanders in DC the week before us, so they may blow their load in a revenge game.

Given the focus on the KC game... can opening day be a trap?

Agree. I don't get it, and it makes it hard for those who can only afford 1 subscription service to watch games legally. Ironically, our local broadcaster is now owned by Comcast, so if anyone wants to complain at HQ in Philly on our behalf, please do so 😂

Deniz breaking down the schedule said he thinks it's the most difficult Eagles schedule he's ever seen. Not in terms of placement, but just pure opponents. It's a rare instance where they play the two best divisions in the NFL in the same year. They only play 3 bottom 14 teams, even in 2023 with the Gauntlet season they played 8 and in 2022 they played 11.

Something I didn't know is the Eagles are the first team in history to win 5 straight home games(playoffs included) in 2024.

They do it, because they have done it for so long and its always worked for them. Back in the day, their bigger money came from ticket sales rather than TV contracts. So, they'd black games out in the local market to force people to buy the tickets in order to see the game. Then TV contracts got bigger, but strangely, it seems to have been done separately from the local blackouts. So, blacking the game out and forcing local people to buy tickets to the game to see it still seems to work.

And now with all the services having their own subscription, they want to black them out to force people to subscribe to the services and then they can raise the licensing fees on those services next time around if the NFL partnership led to significantly more subscribers. Ultimately, the NFL doesn't do anything without a long careful look at the bottom line.
