Based on all of the above, AJ is here through the 2026 season. As he should be. Siri better man up and own this. Bring in a vet OG offensive guy as a consultant to help KP. The wheels need to be greased.

They do need that. Just wonder who is out there. I hate him as a playcaller, as cowardly as Patulla but maybe Mike McCarthy just as sw for voice to help with some better play design.

The Browns took one for the NFL. Just glad they got him before Howie grabbed him as a value pick.

He wouldn't have been a value pick in the 8th round.

If the Eagles make another SB run then the coaching staff will be back. If this season ends prematurely, Lurie will make coaching staff changes again on offense. If the Colts' season collapses, then Steichen will probably be back. If not, and it may not because their schedule looks incredibly easy, then I'd look for Lurie to make Mike McDaniels the highest paid OC in the NFL when he inevitably gets canned after this season. The Dolphins are horrendous.

Man, Thursdays game is brutal. I can't decide who I want to lose more. I guess another tie wouldn't be too bad. I think I'm leaning more towards wanting the Rams to lose just because I think they might actually be a good team. That whole division has such a cake schedule this year. They're liable to have two wild cards just because they play the dregs of the NFC.

In divisional games like that with no clear preference, I usually lean home team. That and we hold the tiebreaker over the Rams..

It almost assuredly would not be... unless his only goal is stats now that he's got his ring. Frankly, his post after the Super Bowl sure made it seem like winning a championship didn't do it for him, and he'd rather just rack up stats and 'dominate' his opponent. He can do that playing for the Jags, Cowboys (like Lamb), Vikings (like JJ), etc. But, never sniff the Big Game again.

There’s a real possibility that he would get traded to a team where he doesn’t get better stats OR another chance at a ring.

I’d say rams. I think niners are frauds and they’ll lose more games. Really the rams have niners twice, Seattle twice. Then lions, Bucs at home. Outside of that have ravens at Baltimore and jags at jags. We have tie breaker but i don’t think the rams unless stafford gets hurt are losing more than 3-4 games.

I think part of their draft success has been that they didn't force things. They moved up for guys they loved when they could but the board just never fell for TE. Of course hindsight will show successful TEs they passed on but I don't remeber an obvious TE that fit the board they passed on recently

2022 and 2023 were the two drafts where I felt the Eagles should have made a move, especially 2022.

2021, the infamous Kyle Pitts draft. I was full steam ahead for Pitts, but thrilled with DeVonta Smith.

Eagles picked Kenny Gainwell at 150. Pick 162 was Noah Gray. He's been a decent backup TE for KC. Not a lot of work for him to do behind Kelce.

2022 was LOAAADED in the middle rounds and that's the draft that the Eagles settled for Calcaterra. It was also a draft where they went from round 3 to round 6 with ZERO picks. Moving up in to the middle rounds in this draft was one of the bigger misses IMO.

Eagles took Cam Jurgens at 51. Trey McBride (stud) went at 55. This is a push. Cam is a very good center. He's playing like dogsh$# this year, but he's part of the glue of this OL.

Between Nakobe Dean at 83 and Kyron Johnson (remember him) at 181, the following TE went off the board:

Jeremy Ruckert, Cade Otton, Daniel Belllinger, Charlie Kolar, Jake Ferguson, Isaiah Likely, Chigoziem Okonkwo, Cole Turner, Teagan Quitoriano, James Mitchell.

5 of those players have over 1200 yards and over 6 TDs since entering the league.

Connor Heyward went 10 picks after Calcaterra and while he's a tweener and has similar numbers to Calcaterra, he's a heckuva blocker.

2023

Round 3 saw the Eagles take Tyler Steen and Sydney Brown back to back at 65 and 66. 9 times out of 10, Howie trades one of his back to back picks. I would have been on board with a move back to 78...why 78?

Tucker Kraft went at 78. I LOVED Kraft. He's got 97 catches for nearly 1300 yards and 11 TDs.

Darnell Washington went at 93. I think the Eagles should be calling about him right now.

Cam Latu went at 101. He found his way here.

Zack Kuntz went at 220. This was an interesting name. Local kid who tore his knee up at PSU. Looks like he's out of the league. Thought he'd be a steal.

2024

Pretty weak draft class behind Brock Bowers.

The Eagles took Jalyx Hunt at 94. Ja'Tavion Sanders went at 101 and Theo Johnson went at 107. Those were the two names I really liked in the draft, but Hunt was huge for the Eagles SB run and hopefully is here for a while.

  1. Realistic targets for the Eagles were Mason Taylor (42), Elijah Arroyo (50) and Harold Fannin (67). Another not so great draft class, so no complaints here.

Eagles took Makuba at 64. Harold Fannin went at 67. Round 2 was too rich for Fannin I'm happy with Makuba. This is just an example of a player going earlier than expected. I thought Fannin would be there in the 4th.

Eagles took Ty Robinson at 111, Gunnar Helm went at 120. Nothing wrong here. DT was a need, TR was great value.

McCarthy was good at running up the score on bad defenses and under performing on good defenses. Doug is more of a west coast passing offense tree. I think Jalen could thrive in that system now that he's improved his game but I don't want to see us completely neglect the run game either. I think the offense would come alive under Doug though and we know he's got a good feel for the game.

It's hard to blame Patullo for being the last guy available when it came time for the Eagles to find a new OC. I wish they had done a better job of looking forward and lining someone up.

I know that's a popular take but I think Patullo will stay in most cases. They'll say he can grow in year 2 if the performance is passable and they make the playoffs. As I said before if Hurts goes to Lurie against him then they'll make a switch but I see that as a low odds scenario. Obviously if the offense is terrible all year and they finish in the bottom 3rd and miss the playoffs or are one and done with a bad O performance then they might decide it's time for a new system but again I think anything that isn't a clear cut disaster will be viewed as year 1 growth

Have to also factor in locker room contentment. Even if the offense improves by the end of the season, if a bunch of key guys in that locker room are not happy with the structure of the offense, Lurie is not going to allow toxicity to linger. If the season ends earlier than they want it to, they won't have a ton of cap space to spend in the offseason, but revamping the coaching staff could be the jolt the team needs to keep things fresh in a new year. Obviously we all hope it doesn't come to that.

I don't think Doug would want to come back and work for people who fired him and then have to work under his successor.

In the 1st half Jalen killed man coverage and avoided the blitz. In the 2nd half Bowles went vanilla zone and we couldn’t cope.

Denver is a C1 defense, but based on the tape they should drop that this week.

Mailata is right, the offense needs to get to the line quicker to give the QB as much time as possible to make pre-snap reads. With the play clocking ticking down, it looked like Jalen stopped reading and was just playing buddy ball.

Jackson Hawes in the 5th round by the Bills this year is looking like a steal so far. His blocking has been near elite as a rookie

Don’t remind me.

I wanted him in Eagles green. GT breeds good blocking TEs.

It was clearly on Patullo that he didn't adjust his play calling to the defense. In essence, the rookie got his chain pulled by a savvy vet. Hopefully, he learns from it. In the meantime, these are the set backs we're going to get from a first time play caller. I know it sounds mean but do you see a guy who's never played a position in his life start in the NFL aside from Jordan Mailata. The NFL is not the place to get your feet wet.
