I'll give you some respect for at least fielding a half decent name, even though both of them were hired like the day after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, which takes away some of your credit. My point was actually more that most of the candidates that were remaining were middling, and that most people can't name decent ones at all because most respectable candidates already had jobs, since the coaching cycle started on Black Monday.

I had a name myself that people usually forget, but for people to be so critical when they can't even begin to think of an available solution is BS, that's just people being deep in their feelings.

Doug’s best qualities are the same as Sirianni’s. They both relate to players well and both are guided by aggression and the will to win in their decision making.

Folks laughed when someone suggested Mike McCarthy, but he’s exactly the right type of person to bring in. He’s designed a top 5 offense everywhere he’s been, and he’s fine as a consultant — not making any in-game decisions.

I'm not familiar with the NFL hiring process, but I have to imagine if they had any interest of him replacing Moore (which him leaving for NO seemed to be a foregone conclusion even before the SB was played which is why I think this way), they could have easily reached out and said "sit by the phone 'in case' Moore leaves"

Or maybe they did and he said no thanks (which would have been idiotic on his part as he took a lesser position in miami)

I'd guess 5 to 10 different people said the season is over or the Lions are going to kill us or some other crybaby drivel in the last 4 days.

No, Mike McCarthy is objectively a good candidate. you just don't want him to be a high end structure person on the team. Better designer than leader. In fact I'd argue he's the best candidate available, but part of why I said WHO rather than McCarthy is because he specifically is taking a year off from coaching, for his family. I think they revealed earlier in the year that's why he didn't take the Bears job.

There used to be some rules involving staff tampering when someone is hired, but those rules got changed a few years ago to something that is far less clear or known to the public in like 2021 or something. No idea how much that affected things or didn't.

In my opinion the thing the Eagles really need to start doing is using this fact of quick hires to their advantage, and making sure they have someone waiting in the wings (stashing them behind some vague offensive role) who is a candidate in need of some image rebranding (Slowik for example), just in case they go deep into the playoffs. Because of the task of adapting to Hurts, pretty much anyone is going to get plucked when we go far in the playoffs. The best way to avoid getting screwed in those scenarios, is to already have an heir prepared. It's a pain in the ass and kind of unfair, but if you want to be consistently successful, it's probably the best approach.

I wouldnt Ertz doesnt block even a little, nor is he going to pick up any yards after the catch.

I was never a huge fan of ertz, hes a big slot receiver not a TE.

Reich was the layup hire as a consultant. He could have been training wheels for Patullo.

Patullo gets the title and the responsibility but Reich is there to help Siri / Patullo / Loeffler / Hurts.

This team went from losing the league MVP to winning a Super Bowl with Reich, Pederson, and Flip working together to craft an offense / game plan / play calls to better suit Foles.

The only way that would not have been a good idea is if the 2025 Eagles were not about winning a Super Bowl but instead were a Kevin Patullo ego project.

I dont mind the Monday night doubleheader. As long as they dont have teams like the Jets and Titans on.

Terrible teams shouldn't be allowed on Sunday or Monday night.
