Rodgers wanted to be a starting CB in the NFL - so when you get egos (Fangio) in the middle - and you're not guaranteed a starting role - then you look elsewhere - especially for the same type of money.

The more I look into this, the more I see Fangio favoring other guys over Rodgers and that's exactly why Rodgers skipped town.

Can back Nova on this, or at least from the last time I saw him play slot, which was 2022. The reason CJGJ is not great in coverage is because he tries to play the ball too much, which for a safety means being out of position. But for a corner, that's more or less the name of the game unless you play like Asante Samuel. And I don't mean that as a slight towards Asante, he was incredible, I more mean that playstyle wise, he definitely gambled sometimes since he knew he had the safeties to clean it up.

That wasn't Facenda. He died in 1984. That was Jeff Kaye, I believe. He took over for a lot of NFL Films work after Facenda, as did Harry Kalas.

That's the right deal to make, plus the Browns are generally good with trading with the team. Instant upgrade, but not a long term commit unless needed while having been generally healthy.

I'm against Campbell as an actual EDGE (not discussing walking him down to EDGE to make a 5 or 6 man front) because he's not strong enough or have good enough hands for that position. He'll get run over.

I'm broken record here - Campbell is a light and unskilled pass rusher, he's best used as a blitzer where Vic schemes up open alleys to the QB where his speed is decisive.

Yup - death by a thousand cuts is not the way I want this team going out. At least Vic recognizes this and increases his blitz rate, while Gannon would just let events overtake him.

Byars is one of my all time favorite Eagles and he was one of the best pass catching RBs in NFL history. 4th all time in receptions, yards, and TDs. Simply a great player to have on any team.
