Just a thought - Mukuba played slot at Clemson - later transitioned to free safety at Texas so he has experience playing slot.

Mukuba - slot

DeJean - outside CB2

Sydney Brown - FS

Likely would fair better than what we witnessed against the Giants.

Vic is not giving up that strong middle that Coop brings. Especially with the D line being less dominant and the stress on the LBs as a result.

In no world does having Sydney Brown starting make this team better. Guy is awful, reckless, and almost as much of an idiot as Carter when it comes to penalties.

Thats not called fixing the issues. Thats called hiding the issue while creating a new one. Fixing the issue would be, functioning as an elite NFL QB should- making all the throws, one time, and making the right reads. He has fixed nothing.

He's fixed a number of his problems such as not moving back and to the right in the pocket, throwing the ball away for the most part rather than just taking a sack, and not turning the ball over. On the other hand, he still can't throw a bullet over the middle and never will, doesn't get thru his reads quick enough, and isn't good at hitting timing routes designed to hit a hole in a zone. It is a mixed bag.

The more important question is if he is still winning games. So far the answer is yes but it does clearly seem that it depends on having a very good OL and on him being a factor in the running game. If your goal is to win Super Bowls then you can do that with Hurts just like the Cowboys did with Aikman. btw - Irvin's stats are very very similar to AJs so far and Irvin is in the HOF. Of course Irvin did win three SBs, something AJ could absolutely do as an Eagle.

The hang up again is saying he fixed his interceptions. No he did not. What he did about his interceptions is not a fix.

And "he" is not winning. He is lucky to be on a winning team. Hurts would be a complete disaster on most other teams.

He’s on this team, winning, and not throwing INTs. None of that is debatable. Does he have limitations? Yes.

What current NFL QBs meet your criteria who can also be counted on to win in the post season, get to and win a SB?

He's gonna play 80 games!!!

Sorry, I meant 8 games!

Typo

I’m in the air flying from Sacramento to Philadelphia for a visit to my 102 year-old mother. So there won’t be the standard Update until late today or early tomorrow. Keep the cards and letters (and predictions) coming.

Wow! Here’s wishing you and her all the best.

You got nothing but a strawman. Nice.

Not straw manning anything. I completely agree with you. He was a total nonfactor in all of their wins last year.

I come to the Blog and get to enjoy a slap fight between HE and RTK. Marcus Hayes is planning a feature story on the altercation.

She unfortunately is on the off-ramp. 102 is a very rich life indeed. She made it to 101 cancer free, but it finally caught up with her … aggressively. Fortunately the off ramp for her has been very short and relatively pain free.

Sorry to hear she is sick but happy it has gone the way it has for her.

What do you suggest the team do at QB?

Post season baseball is just different. Think of the Braves - they were dominant in the East for decades but usually limited success in the postseason.

I know folks don’t want to hear it but the Phillies should have been the team to beat LA - I don’t think anyone else will..

Hope you're right

It is easy to complain. Much harder to propose solutions.

I think we should definitely play with one!

I already said McKee should be the guy.

A certain upgrade from playing with a RB at the position. I like the way you think!

In my opinion HE is not complaining, he is amusing himself. It takes a lot of dedication to maintain the same shtick for years on end. I make two assumptions about HE based solely on his posts:

  1. He is an excellent parent.

  2. This board is his favorite game.

His game is dull to me so I have had him on ignore for the past year. Same for RTK because his game is dull as well

So you want the 4-2 team to turn to an unproven backup who’s played exactly five quarters of NFL football instead of playing the guy who’s taken the team to two SBs in the last three years winning one as MVP and nearly winning the other in which he would also have been MVP had they won. Did I get that right?
