Believe Samuel is still recovering from his neck injury. Simmons was frankly just not all that good last year with the falcons. At least from what I read. Also Pff had his grade as 59.9.

I'd be curious to see if McWilliams eventually becomes an option at nickel which would allow them to bump DeJean outside permanently. Might be too much to ask for a 5th round rookie, but I don't think a solution to CB2 is on this team or on the street. Unless Bennett comes back from injury and takes the spot. That is probably the most realistic scenario.

Eagles saved some money on Z'adarius as he could have made 9M if reaching incentives. They paid him a little over 3M of that. They have some money to work with here for a couple vets. Chasing a Superbowl repeat here FFS, as we worry about a roster 3 years from now that can change drastically with injuries and or lack of performance. Many thought Dean would be long term piece just last year. And Davis wasn't. Things change. Gotta not forget about the opportunity presented today. There are ways to maneuver later with trades, franchise tags etc.

Unfortunately, Howie really unnecessarily effed up alot of this depth shooting his own foot with bad trades or guys leaving for cheap. Kinda tough to swallow that reality right now. Pryor instead of Kinnard. Young instead of Booker are looking really bad. And had to squander a pick to get Fred J. back. Lot of mismanagement here. And even trading for Howell (for 2 weeks insurance was not exciting roster management). Brigsby gets one snap and Metchie nothing. Turrible right now with all these new guys. Hope Bennett does something before we are done, but not that hopeful. Gets hurt alot and penalized a bunch.

The reported deal with Samuel was always he is going to have a CT scan in October and depending on how that comes out is when there would be more serious interest from teams.

It honestly sounds like he's a year away from being a high level contributor to anyone.

I think they would have tried that already with Nickerson if that was the plan.

Reuben Frank ripped in to him being the worst QB he's ever seen on the podcast. Worst QB? Really? Did he hurt you Reub? He played like an MVP, tore his ACL, broke his back, got concussed and they moved on with a better QB for the team. He didn't set the team back, he didn't trash the organization. He's handled himself with nothing but class from what I've seen.

He's a shell of 2017. I'm glad he's not the QB here. But on a list of players former Philly players who deserve hate, he's not even on the list.

I liked Bennett when they grabbed him and think he could wind up being a low risk high ceiling guy with Isaiah Rodgers type athleticism. He’s on the shorter side so Pete wasn’t a huge fan but I think he could do well here.

Maybe... or maybe they finally learned that they can't reliably run the ball like last year and they need to be more aggressive in the passing game.

On Samuel Jr that he is not even on a PS shows that he's not even ready to practice imo.

I like Jermaine Johnson, but not sure I'd overpay for him. He only has one sack on the season. I think he has upside, but I'm not sold on him. Unless there's a name out there we haven't heard of, he and Chubb might be the best names on the market.

Depending on what CBs are on the market, I wonder if CB might be a better place to invest. But Edge is so damn thin, it's a tough call.

I've always supported Wentz but 2020 left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths and that's understandable. He was absolutely dreadful that season. Couple that with the fact he wanted out, which I get, and the behind the scenes locker room/listening to coaches issues he had. Sproles has been on record saying he didn't listen to anyone.

But at the end of the day they don't have a Super Bowl without his MVP type season in 2017.

Like aith most things I think it’s a likability factor. Or lack there of. Reports of him being a pain in the locker room and evidenced by him being jettisoned a few teams rather quickly. People give you a lot more slack when they like you.

I wouldn't overpay for any rental. The results for midseason trades have been mostly bad
