The equivalent of post-retirement consulting for us average working class folks. Good for BG and good for PHI, based on everything I read here the guys presence alone is worth it to the organization. I expect to see a different team moving forward, especially this week against the G-men, he is gonna have the rest of the Eagles fired up. I expect to see the NYG with some personal fouls called, BG and his impact to the rest of the team will cause some ill advised responses from the Giants. This should be a fun game to watch.

Steeler?

Dirty player?

Overrated by the fanbase and media?

Mentioned it last night, if Bettis goes anywhere after STL besides Pitt his 3.9 YPC career avg doesn’t sniff the HoF.

I did think the same thing.

The other one that comes to mind is Troy Polamalu. Flowing locks, big hits + being a Steeler, who cares about productivity, you get a yellow jacket sir.

I still remember him illegally punching the ball into the endzone during a play

And has been since the very beginning.

Exactly and Embiid/Simmons were the two key assets plus the disaster that was Fultz. They represented the overwhelming value obtained for all the years of tanking.

You win multiple bowls and your chances sky rocket and you don’t need the full HOF level stats. Always been that way.

I'd forgotten about that. And it seems he didn't care that he did it either. Certified hall of famer right there

I understand a player who cares about his stats. I just don't think he needs to make everything public. JMO.

Hardly everything. Just a few odds and ends that some people take way too seriously and that the media blows up because they have nothing else to do.

Jordan Mailata on whether he prefers when the QB is under center: "Yeah, I do. ...It puts us in better angles. ...Most defenses, if you back up in 'gun, you're like OK, the RB is on the right, most defensive ends will crash and play that gap and they know where the play's going. Remove that and take that from the D-end, they have to respect both edges."

I expect a story by the end of the season of BG fighting AJ in the shower.

The AJ thing is annoying but we'll never really know if it affects the locker room (no one on the team is going to comment on it publicly, unless BG does again)

Or maybe fans and media need to care less about what a player randomly posts on social media?

Personally, I don't care about social media. I don't have social media, and except for seeing it here, would never know what was put on social media.

At the same time...

what's the point of social media? Is it not to make people aware of specific things? To get 'your message' out in the public view? He wants his comments to be in the public arena. He has his reasons for it. And I don't think they are 'random' by any means. If it were truly random, and he saw what they do when he does it... he's stop. But, he doesn't. He continues to do it. He's got every right to do so and more power to him in doing it. I just don't agree that they should be public, or that that's in the best interest of the team. Deal with things in house... don't be cryptic about your meaning. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. But, he's going to do what he wants. And that's fine. He's not T.O. but Philly fans have some PTSD from the 2005 T.O. fiasco.

I bet Mike Florio is getting on his ITYS bandwagon about gambling in sports . Wonder if this will take Adam Silver down?

Wrestling doesn't have this problem... I guess I won't be betting on any meaningless NBA games anytime soon (which is virtually the entire regular season).

Why is it annoying? It seems incredibly trivial to me, and there is nothing I can do to address it, so I mostly ignore it. Am I missing something?

While I certainly think AJ should keep it in house, I also think he is correct. That route that Patullo had him run on his first TD was trash. Run to the sticks and turn around. It was only backyard football between him and Hurts that the play resulted in a TD. The second TD was schemed up nicely.

They need to get him the ball to him running stride more across the field so he has an opportunity at YAC. More double moves down the field when teams are clearly sitting on the shorter routes. So, to an extent, it may be a good thing that he isn't satisfied. Hopefully, they are looking at that and communicating to continue to improve.

Well it looks like there will be some fun trials out of this.

He isn't satisfied because the didn't end with him being looked as as the biggest contributor in the win. He's a team cancer at this point who only cares about himself putting up the biggest numbers possible and everything centering around him.

I'm sure players and coaches love always having to answer questions about AJ Brown's complaining social media posts, no matter if it is after a win or loss.

aj = wr = diva = not shocking

The way I see it the thing isn’t finished until Embiid is gone.

They got screwed on draft picks for most of the actual process. Then the Sixers were forced to fire Hinkie…that was the end of the process. He never got a chance to build ann actual team. His successors proceeded to ruin the entire thing and a generational talents prime with overpriced and washed talent. Embiid’s expiration date was age 29/30 when he was drafted.

I do get your thought process though, that’s mine though.

Well personal stats determine contact, pro bowl, all pro, hall of fame, etc.

Team stats and getting rings are nice but you can be on the team but not play in the SB and still get the accolades

So it’s understand that a player cares about their stats

Ironically, Drew Brees has about a 99% chance IMO to be first ballot this year and didn’t win a single MVP.

Hopefully, he can regain his health and contribute. If not, then this may become a Chris Bosh situation. Unfortunately, he is signed for four more years. Still can't figure out why the Sixers did that last year when they knew he was hurt from the Olympics (and did tell us either).

Troy is a weird one. He certainly earned his DPOTY, but he was hurt a lot. For every highlight and splash play, he gambled on 3 plays and f’d up. Overall, I think he earned his gold jacket…but a look at his tape is a great showcase of ‘you see this, don’t do this’.

Could affect trade deadline

Getting the ring helps a lot. It really shouldn't carry the weight that it does, and not getting the ring shouldn't be held against players the way it is. Championships are team accolades, but the Hall is all about the individual.

Funny about Bettis, if not for a ridiculous shoe string tackle by Ben after a Bettis fumble at the goal line, he’d be ringless and there would have been no ‘Bettis plays a SB in his home town and him and Cowher finally get their rings despite being incredibly overrated’
