Eagles need to get "out of the box” thinking on running plays. 3 TEs, have an OL man report as eligible receiver. Anything to throw off gmen D. Get creative.

Agreed. Last year it was Mano a Mano because we were nasty and healthy and just bigger than the opposition. Different line this year in so many different ways.

3 things from that article:

  1. Translation: The Eagles are using him when they are in trouble, but not involving him consistently enough for his liking.

    He’s clearly losing patience.

  1. From the article:

An opposing defensive coach said he actually understands Brown’s frustration.

"Hurts struggles against zone,” he said. "That’s when A.J. goes MIA. There are times it looks like Hurts doesn’t fully trust what he’s seeing, so he checks it down and plays it safe. It’s either a deep shot or a checkdown — not much in between. The timing is just off. And you can see it on the field — the communication between Hurts and Brown just isn’t there right now.”

  2. Bottom line: Brown can be frustrated all he wants, but this team plays for the ring first. However, GM Howie Roseman will always listen, and if the Eagles get an exorbitant offer? Nobody is untradable in Philadelphia.

The first part makes sense because when they do get into trouble, they tend to go his way. But this has kind of been an issue since last year. I brought it up last year when they faced the ravens and then the Panthers. He had one target over the span of 4 quarters. It is ridiculous for a top 5-10 wide receiver in the NFL. And they did it this year as well. It’s been an issue

Second the advanced analytics for this year have shown they’re not good against zone coverage. Sheil, Seyed and BLG routinely discuss this. It’s a problem. Teams are going to keep continuing to play heavy zone until we show that we can adapt and actually beat zone consistently

Third everyone in the NFL is tradable for the right price except for Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Even with cap and dead money hurting them. If somebody came to the Eagles and offered them for 4 1st round picks and a starting Wr for AJ Brown, I am guessing the Eagles probably make that move even with the cap/dead money ramifications. unless you’re Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes, everybody in the NFL has a price that a team would be willing to trade them for.

Random but assuming McKee is not back next season, I’d be all for bringing in Fields as QB 2. Assuming he’s available

Giants are not getting destroyed this weekend. Even though they are more battered than the Eagles. This is going to be a tight game with Dart. If it was a washed up Russell Wilson, maybe a different story. They are a hot team right now that should have won last week in Denver, if not for a collapse in last 5 minutes. Gonna need guys like Dotson and Goedert in this one and a semblance of a running game. The fact that I'm not confident about beating the Giants, at home is kinda sad. Regardless of what's happening.

What happened the last time a team choked away a 4th quarter lead to the Broncos in their next game?

True enough, but what is Brown’s actual market value in a trade? I’m skeptical the Eagles could even get a 1st round pick for him, all factors considered.

How do you manage such consistently horrible takes on everything?

That would be horrific if you have any attachment at all to putting the ball in the air. Folks in here lament Hurts’ limitations as a passer; Fields is hot garbage in a passing offense.

Fixing Brown's frustrations seems like the most obvious solution in the world: fix the offense. A high scoring productive offense where he's producing like he should and all is well. And like others have reported, he's not the only one frustrated.

He’d be better than almost any other option at #2 QB. And every QB on the Jets is terrible

Not sure what his trade value would be. If I’m the Eagles, I’m not letting him go for less than a first and a third that we gave up to acquire him. That said he needs a new contract after next season. He basically only has $4 million in guaranteed money in 2027. Imo money is always the biggest factor.

Imo Brown is looking at this situation as each consecutive year since 2022 his numbers are declining. when he has to go to the negotiating table in 2027 offseason (or next offseason to rework his contract) he is going to be 30 years old, hamstring concerns with the Eagles and the Titans and on top of the his production has dropped off each consecutive year. Those are gonna be used against him. he is a smart enough guy to realize this, so I think he’s getting ahead of the curve to put out there that his declining production is not because of his ability. This is a schematic problem that is hurting him.

Not the way I would go about it, but I can understand his frustration that this is probably going to cost him future money in his pocket having the production decline and at 30 trying to get his last big payday. can say the way he’s acting is gonna cost some money, but Imo probably looks at it as his production is costing him more then airing out his issues

I'll talk to your know it all a** after the game. You will be wrong about a lot of things by the EOY. I think my vision and comments have been right on the money. This team is a shell of itself and was stripped way too prematurely and quickly over bad calculations by the GM.

Trade AJ Brown for Denzel Ward and a pick. Send him to Cleveland and give us the best starting 3 corners in the league.

If I take my bias away for a sec, Dart and Skattebo are awesome to watch. Seems like both are gonna battle injuries their whole careers though.

If Skattebo were an Eagle, people would be losing their minds and calling for him to play more than Barkley. They both bring a level of excitement and recklessness that makes them entertaining. I agree though both aren’t made long for this league.

AJ Brown is the best player on offense. I’d rather keep him…

We’ll see how well the offense operates without him tomorrow.

Even so… no way I’m trading him without getting a first round pick and/or premier edge rusher in return

AJ doesn't bother me, he's gonna be here unless they get a king ransom for him. The annoying thing here is Dianna Russini who been spreading this AJ trade ish weekly. I swear she has skin in this somehow. She's somehow a frequent guest on some of the pods I listen too and brings up some AJ stuff every time unprompted. Like she's trying to manifest it and for some reason always points to the Patriots as the number 1 destination for him.

Jags are shopping Brian Thomas Jr. jags aren’t utilizing him correctly either and hurts deep ball plays well with Thomas. I’d deal him to Jacksonville if we got BTJ and picks (have to be high picks as brown is top 5-10 WR and Thomas has only shown he was great for 1 year)

We got a new Aj and Josina Anderson! It’s Aj and Diana!

Maybe if we get Gonzalez in return.

I don’t even think Thomas is better than Dotson. Major downgrade

I’d guess a bit higher than what DK Metcalf was traded for. 2nd and plus, borderline 1st.

It’s been two years. It’s clearly not an option.

Eagles Superbowl chances go straight out the window this year with AJ Brown traded. But I'm not confident this is a Superbowl team here, as of today, barring a fantastic trade deadline here. Not a huge fan of AJ's Diva antics, but not really stirred up by all of that. I just enjoy winning football games most and keep the personal stuff at a distance with these athletes. Like many have mentioned here, this is most likely a moot topic til after next season. But...if you're Howie and you get a crazy trade proposal before then, that sets up your team for a couple drafts you do have to listen. Even with the cap ramifications. Everybody has their price. But don't really see that being met here. For today, you start with a Tyreek Hill type trade package before you even start listening, if I'm Howie.

They’re not trading brown. The dead cap hit is crazy. He’s not going anywhere for at least another year

I agree, but most importantly, I don't believe this bothers the Eagles. The media is talking a lot about it. By all accounts, this isn't really a thing inside Novacare. This isn't the TO situation where there are factions and TO off to the side by himself and not talking to people. AJ Brown is loved in that locker room and organization.

It's clear AJ Brown is frustrated and miserable that the offense has sucked this season. I think that's 100% real. I think that's the beginning and end of this whole drama though. It's the media that has throw in the trade stuff, which I don't believe is a thing. And I have my theories that the media is bitter that a Philly team has been dominant and successful at the expense of NY and Dallas(their top two football markets) and are trying to speak this into existence to break up the Eagles.

Thomas is better than Dotson. BTJ rookie year he went for 87 receptions for 1282 yards and 10 tds playing with Mac jones and jar jar Binks at Qb. Dotson for his career has 110 receptions for 1368 yards and 11 tds. So essentially BTJ rookie season nearly single-handedly outproduced Dotson in 3.5 years.
