I would also say a guy not talked about right now, Dean. He’s a free agent at the end of the year. Now I think he’s gonna walk because I think a free agency somebody’s gonna pay him more than what the Eagles will and eagles have baun and Campbell going forward. But i think Vic loves that kid

I think Dean’s only chance at sticking around is if Campbell unexpectedly establishes himself as a dominant edge rusher down the stretch and all but forces Vic and Howie to pencil him in as an edge next year, opening Dean’s spot back up for him. (Not sure Campbell will be utilized enough in that fashion for it to ever happen anyway).

Otherwise, there is zero chance Howie has a first round pick plus two guys on big second contracts all at as off-ball LBs.

I think it’s more hindsight with Milton Williams. If we asked Howie now he probably say I should’ve extend him then instead of going after Huff. But then again Huff is exactly what we need. He just sucked when he was here. If Huff was actually good we don’t have a need for a pass rusher

I’ve been the captain of the Milton Williams fan club from before he was drafted and even I’m not sure I’d have extended him after 2023. They needed to add other parts to that team (just especially tough in hindsight, like you said, that said other part was Huff).

Reed will walk after this season and people dont want to admit it

I wouldn’t be surprised by that. I brought this up last week. I just kind of think he’s gonna get to the end of the year, test free agency as he’s so close and in free agency somebody’s gonna offer him more than what the Eagles want to pay him. I want him back.

That’s kind of what I think. I just don’t see them paying baun, Dean and then having to pay Campbell in a couple of years. I just don’t see it. If baun wasn’t extended then much more realistic.

Ummm….is Kelee Ringo settling in?

His tackling, obviously, has been really bad, but it has started to settle down. And he’s starting to become fairly unnoticeable in coverage, which is a really, really good thing.

Have to see him against someone other than Lil'Jordan Humphrey

I’m guessing it was his best game today - I saw him out there but rarely targeted.

Penn state can go after Kelly!!!!

Karma is a ****…been following him since he flaked on a 12-0 Cinci team before a BCS bowl game for ND.

His flaws are his flaws he can’t change direction well. If he goes up against a WR that can put you on skates he’s gonna struggle.

But it wasn't one or the other...the Williams decision had to be made this past offseason. The money just wasn't there at the time...there is more flexibility this offseason.

How is the money not there? And cap hits can be manipulated in all kinds of ways. Signed guys like Zadaruius, Ojulari and Uche (who's played well). And was willing to pay Parsons according to Schefter, who costs almost double. Not buying the money angle. That's a win now move and worry later about the cap thought. To not pay MW is to think that the Superfreaks of MW & Carter in the Superbowl was a fluke.

Myles Garret talk from earlier got me thinking about this question.

Having won 2 super bowls recently, and being in a 3rd- have opinions on "going for it" changed?

Pre-super bowl winning era, we would all say that mortgaging the farm would be worth it to "go for it" and get a super bowl.

Now that we have a couple, are we more interested in preservation of our current level of play/super bowl contention? Or would you still say it would be worth it to mortgage the farm for something like a Parsons trade, or Myles Garrett trade, or something along those lines?

Yes...a generational talent was available. I am sure Howie was going to kick the tires....but ....are you sure of the details about the Eagle interest? The only evidence I saw was from the usual rumormongers....Dallas was not going to trade Parsons to the Eagles no matter the offer and the smart GM's are really starting to understand the value of 1st round draft picks.

Who is getting paid a salary to create these hideous rags NFL teams are wearing for prime time games? Imagine being stupid enough to buy one of these things.

There are people on this board that have dissected Campbell more than me. So I’m not sure where his best fit and potential is.

But edge rushers are a hell of a lot more expensive and harder to find. If Campbell could be the answer there in a rotation with Smith and Hunt and all they need to do is give Dean a modest extension…that’s a lot easier than finding an edge rusher.

Dart did not do much stand in the pocket, scan the field, see if he can find someone open on Ringo.

Most of the passes I saw him throw where while he was running for his life.

I'm not saying Ringo did not have a very good game. I just have no idea.

I'm interested to see the Eagles pressure rate from today.

The eagles can certainly roll the dice and count on him being stronger and more effective as an edge in year 2, keeping Dean at ILB.

I have an old co worker who’s a die hard Steelers fan who is probably wearing one right now. He loved the bumble bee one. Bought like 3 different ones. Steelers fans…they’re different. In a bad way.

I hate that PI call, but I like seeing the unfathomably overrated packers lose.

Right now Howie is in auto correct mode to fix this below average offseason and to try to get back to the Big Dance. But I feel like he did it to himself in some ways. It was all there for the taking this offseason. And he's bringing guys back from last year like Freddie Johnson, Brandon Graham and such. I'd like to see a couple more guys back. 20 new players is just overdone.

From what I’ve seen, Campbell can not play edge on a permanent basis. Hes too light, often gets taken out of plays by TEs or WRs. Can he come down and help the rotation? Maybe…but he’s not an edge.

Noteworthy that the Eagles do not play football again until after the trade deadline.

With the OL having 2 weeks to get healthy, a move for an interior OL is not essential.

And Jalyx Hunt and Kelee Ringo just had their best games of the season…which could factor into the CB2 and edge desperation.

What a difference a couple weeks makes. My take on the above observations: get a really good player. I think the existing roster and coaches have cleaned things up that you don’t need to overpay for a washed "someone, anyone” type of addition. (Respectfully, that’s what Howie usually does at the deadline). If they can get a true impact/stud/plus level player at any one of those positions, then do it and don’t be stingy. But I wouldn’t add a football version of Max Kepler at IOL/CB/edge.

Maybe Hurts just should have gone down but if you think you saw a spot where Hurts could plant, throw, and not get a fumble or a batted pick or grounding on that play, I'd love to know where.

He does not have a report ahead of time about where the OL got beat so he could know that he can't escape pressure.

He's been amazing throwing while escaping pressure the last few weeks.

Your problem is expecting perfection in a sport that is not about perfection, Its about winning.

Hurts is the worst QB in the league this year, except for all the other ones.

Maye has good stats vs a garbage easy schedule.

Goff was horrible in week 1 and nowhere near good enough vs KC.

Let me know who these perfect QBs who Hurts should use as role models are.

Daniel jones and Joe Flacco, oh and Tanner McKee...😒
