I was today year's old when I realized teams could have a byte as late as week 14. Week 9 is the latest I can remember the Eagles having the bye in recent times

Don't ask her out, invite her out. If she's a birds fan and you've flirted before then you already know she likes you.

Say something like, "we might need to grab a drink and argue about the eagles’ play-calling sometime.”

Good luck, we expect updates and wedding invites.

ask her if she has any hot friends. if she does tell her to invite them to the party if she doesn't tell her she will do for now.

60% of the time it works every time.

The Jim Johnson defense had some great LB too but they never seemed to be on the same team for very long. Carlos Emmons was the mainstay with Trotter coming back multiple times. I LOVE Shawn Barber, but he was only here for 1 season. Wish he was here longer. James Darling was a very steady OLB. Nate Wayne was good for one year. Mike Caldwell and Ike Reese were ST aces who filled starting positions so-soish.

I would love to see Chris Gocong in this current defense. Still one of the most frustrating moves they ever made. Draft a guy who leads the NCAA in sacks and make him cover TE. We'll always have the Patriots game that showed his true potential. What were they thinking? It worked so well they drafted Andy Studabaker to do the same thing.

Yeah, framed as an embarrassment of riches - I was thinking 3+ LBs that are really good. Trot and Emmons came to mind (but I couldn't remember Caldwell being above average), and Hicks, Bradham and Kendricks (but that was more of a surprise).

They look like a new Gropnik.

One week remaining until we can get back to actually talking about the games and not made up trades about arguably the best player on the team.

Not sure what sports radio will do without AJ Brown trade talk?

I'll add this... Toth had a really nice game in the running game too. He was very good as the pulling center. And having Dickerson being Dickerson next to him helped a lot too. An undersized C can manage when there's a mauler next to him. Last year Jurgens had TWO huge maulers on his flanks.

Jurgens is exactly the same size as Kelce and Kelce got to Superbowls with Brooks and Seumalo playing Right Guard who were both smaller than Steen, can we stop pretending that 6ft 6in 323lb Steen is some kind of undersized runt who has no business playing in a position that requires giants.

Don't worry, AL'S need for the spotlight won't have us waiting much longer for the next selfish social media post.

Actually we had a week 14 bye as recently as 2021

Emmons was underated in part because the memory of Seth Joyner was much fresher when he played. The 2001 team was probably the best defense they had under Jim Johnson with Mike Caldwell, Trotter and Emmons. They never really replaced Emmons or Trotter until Jim Johnson's final year with Stewart Bradley.

Eagles had a Week 14 bye in 2021. I didn't remember exactly off the top of my head but I remembered it being unusually late.

Never ever in the history of Everdom was that sentence EVER uttered concerning the Eagles Linebackers...lol

Going back a ways... it could have been said in the late 1970s/1980s. Bill Bergey, John Bunting, Frank Lemaster, Jerry Robinson

Of course, that was a 3-4 D... so you needed to have 4 LBs. But they weren't Pat Swilling, Vaughn Johnson, Sam Mills and Ricky Jackson.

Emmons was solid. Joyner was a playmaker. Big difference, as I see it.

Bradley was another 'what might have been' situation. He was a really really good player who just never came back from that injury. I'm not sure, but weren't there injury questions about him before the draft and that's why he lasted to the 3rd round? (Stupid Flight Night!)

It’s been awhile since it felt like we weren’t just getting by - Seth, B&E and Willy T were a great group (2 seasons together maybe).

Yup. When they inserted Willie T into the lineup in 1991, that's when that defense really took off. It just wasn't as good with Jessie Small at that other LB position.

Remember back in 1999 when the Browns first reentered the league and brought the total to 29 teams. Back then there was at least 1 bye every week, so there were byes the first week AND the last week. lol

I hate the bye week. I also hate Sundays where the Eagles played on Thursday, Friday or have the Monday game.

Odd that I have completely blocked out those late byes.

Brooks was an inch shorter than Steen but outweighed him by 15 pounds and was more powerful. Seumalo was two inches shorter than Steen and played at about 320. I don’t know who if anyone here has referred to Steen as an undersized runt. Then again, compared to Becton…

Eagles need 2 more spots. I think AJ Dillon is a goner. He played decently but no need for him. Howie will try to get a 7 or pick swap. Other spot will likely come from Patrick Johnson or Ojulari. I'm not 100% convinced they won't keep Johnson for ST

We seem to be on a positive trajectory. Looking at Detroit, GB, and LA for the conference. We've beaten one and play the other two next.

If you want the OL to get healthy, you don’t wanna keep the 250 lb guy who dives onto their legs all the time

Well they definitely aren't playing penalty free, i'm hoping that's one of the big changes coming out of the bye. Just a modicum of discipline would be great

You're in luck with a bye week and MNF back to back
