I was looking at the numbers and anyone who thinks this is anything but media driven is mistaken. AJ Brown has a 90 million dead cap hit in 2025. The Eagles have 11 mil in cap space in 2025. Meaning there would be 79 mil in dead money in 2025. (There is no cap room for that) The Eagles cannot trade AJ Brown.

You would think some of the media personalities would look into this before continuing their rumor fest but they are likely being willfully ignorant to get clicks, etc. Just my guess.

So no, AJ isn't getting traded.

I understand. I also think all Eagles games should start at 1:00 on Sundays. I don’t care what times other games start. As far as the bye week goes, it comes at an excellent time for us. We should be close to fully healthy when we start up again. And, to

my delight, the bye week falls on November 2, when my wife and I going to the Orchestra. Emanuel Ax plays Beethoven. Sublime.

We're past June 1st so all the dead cap wouldn't hit this year, for starters. It would be spread out between this year and next.

His contract structure is also complicated and the websites do their best but struggle to give a clear picture.

Basically, it would be a lot of dead money. Not impossible and not something Howie couldn't manage though. It's fair to assume it's not something Howie would want to do, but if he gets blown away with something stupid in a good way, he could make it happen.

If I had to guess I'd think Fangio wants a CB2 more than an Edge if he had to pick one.

Other than cap limitations making it extremely difficult - the Eagles would not do it because this is not a better team without AJ Brown.

All due respect to the Giants - they are not one of the better (or elite) playoff teams in the NFL. There are teams out there (we will see some of them in the 2nd half of the season) that will be much harder to beat without AJ Brown. He is an elite WR - one of the best in the NFL - and this team, this offense would not be as good without him - especially when you realize doing it could cripple the team's cap numbers over the next two seasons (forcing the team to potentially lose other players) - when you have guys like JC, etc who are due to get large contracts. Makes no sense anyway you look at it.

I hate not playing on Sundays, but my love/hate for the bye usually depends on how the team is doing. I feel this year it’s a great thing given the number of players who could benefit from it healthwise for the 2nd half season run.

Sunday 1pm is the best Eagles KO otherwise though.

If Cooper moves to CB2. Your answer then is Alontae Taylor at slot. That's his best position and can play CB2 as a fill-in.

This video does an excellent job breaking everything down.

I pointed that out in one of my excellent posts the other day crediting patullo. Hurts has never passed this well in the red zone under any precious OC. Patullo is bringing out the best in hurts.

Lurie then: "I take voluminous notes."

Lurie now: wait, I can have a headset?

Not sure how anyone can have the Rams ahead of us. smh

When you know ball...

I've been thinking about it. Can anyone name a superstar athlete or one of the best players on a team in the NFL where people were heavily discussing trade of that player that didn't meet one of the following criteria

-Asked to be traded

-Known that he hates his teammates or his teammates hate him(viewed as a locker room cancer)

-Known to hate the coaches or his coaches hate him

-Has a deep resentment of the organization(a la Trent Williams with the Redskins)

-Is a player the organization feels is in significant decline or post 30 in age

AJ Brown fits none of that criteria. A contending top tier team trading one of their 3 best star players who will carry cap hits and dead cap money all because "He's frustrated with the offense" would be one of the most unprecedented trades in NFL history.

It's so ridiculous I can't honestly believe people are talking about it and I suspect very strongly that a week from now once the deadline ends it'll be viewed then as ridiculous as it all was.

Off topic...if you have ever have a knee injury, buy one of these. Torn my acl, meniscus in the last fishing tourney and this thing has been a life saver while waiting for surgery

BIL got one for after his knee replacements and really liked it.

Said it. Say it again I will. The NFL needs to bite the bullet and split bye weeks between week 8/9. 2 weeks of a lot of people not needing to endlessly swap between 6 streaming services would work wonders keeping things uniform.

Kind of amazing how we are going to play 6 of the top 8 teams on there (really 6 of the 7 cause we can’t play ourselves)

There's only one scenario of an AJ Brown trade I can see at this exact moment, that would have any kind of chance and that's to the Patriots. They seem hellbent in the pursuit of a #1 WR and will overpay for top players. In this case, the compensation given to the Eagles and AJ Brown. They could make Howie think about swallowing the bitter pill of the salary cap space. Otherwise, not happening....for a conditional high pick or whatever. I see 4-5 picks in total for him to budge. Eagles would have to play hard to get and who knows? Would be a shocker at this point. But not really...

Sam Howell for a 3rd.

I enjoy the Sundays of just being able to enjoy Redzone.

I have them ahead of us. That two week stretch of blowing a 14+ point 4th quarter lead to the Broncos and getting blown out to the Giants was not good.

Sam Howell for Isaiah Rodgers.
