We've spent all season talking about all the needs the Eagles have, and the high draft picks that will be needed to address them to keep the roster solid and competing. Now we want to trade them all away for an expensive player that will eat up cap.

They could trade for Chubb which is enough for the pass rush added to Nolan Smith and whatever BG has left in the tank, while Hunt is playing really well this season and the interior D line is healthy and playing well. And keep most of their draft picks to continue making the roster strong.

All the needs? We have the 2nd youngest team, built with great talent. I won't dispute the cap situation, that would be interesting, but if we went after Parsons then Garrett cannot be far off. A few spots need addressing (TE, OL, CB2)......but the remaining spots are filled and look good for a while. Our window is now and I think our FO knows it, not neglecting the future but this team can get back to the show.

Since Howie was actually trying to get Parsons and had a better offer on the table for him than what Dallas got from GB, I'm sure there is some truth to the Myles G rumor.

Man, I'm torn. Garrett is an absolute beast and would move the needle for us big time. But damn, giving up three 1's? That's a high cost. It would basically be trying to maximize our current window for this year and next year to get Super Bowls before entering dark days.

What if the 1st rounders aren't in consecutive drafts? 2026, 2028, 2030? Or something close to that?

Would you do a 3rd for Chubb if it's that or nothing?

A 3rd for Phillips would be an overpayment. He's a nice player and he would help but he doesn't move the needle that much and the dude is always injured going back to his days in college.

He'd be an 7-8 sack a year guy coming in to help the rotation, it's basically trading to replace Sweat.

One name I'd have interest in if he can be had cheap or maybe can be had with a swap of another player the Eagles don't want is Jackson Powers Johnson. Could be C/G depth.

Then in 2030 you'll be ponying up your first round pick for a player who hasn't been on your roster for 2 years

I'd prefer for ONCE, the customer was considered.

Then you should be happy because that is what happened.

Parsons will be the age Garrett is now at the end of his contract, you have a window to restructure any backloaded cap hits that you don't with Garrett. Garrett's last 2 years are horrible, and he'll be too old to restructure.

If it's me, Howie has to be willing to depart with higher draft picks and pull the trigger on any impactful trades. Draft picks will be replenished in the future. You have McKee and AJ Brown to restock the cupboard with higher picks. Dotson, Blankenship and Dean potentially getting you more middle to late compensatory draft picks, as well. Howie needs to go for it. Now!! I'm not saying get Garrett necessarily because of the huuuuuge cost overall and his age. But I like this way of thinking. There are opportunities out there and just doing depth pieces for depth pieces trades is fine and dandy, but not gonna move the needle much.

Howie can trade 2 firsts for MG this year, win a Super Bowl, and trade him for two first in March. Forget about the dead cap, though.

Two 1st rounders... and not 3? I'll just close my eyes and say eff it. 😆

May have been posted already but I'm not going through 10+ pages

He was that guy early in his career. Unfortunately he only played in 12 games combined between the 2023 and 2024 seasons and is currently on pace for only 5.67 sacks this year. He was also very injury prone in college so between that and 2023 and 2024 it's a major concern. I would pass unless it's for a 4th.

Not sure how this affects their trades

Thoughts?

Neither

If it's the late 3rd I would strongly consider it. No chance am I giving up the Jets 3rd for him though. I would definitely prefer Chubb to Phillips.

Howie will end up getting higher first round picks. He's playing 6D chess

Chris Grier either didn't want to make trades or he did. So now the Dolphins will do the opposite.

These things are like Jason. They never die.

I'd prefer not but that's at least better than Garrett or Phillips

NFLRums is a fake news account. Block it.

You can only trade up to 3 years out so they would have to be consecutive

I feel like we’ve given up a 3rd for way worse players. So yeah, I definitely would. Need a pass rusher more than anything
