It was Charles Robinson from Yahoo. He's like a B level reporter. I don't think he's just making things up but his statement of "Howie would give up like, 3 first round picks" seems a little hyperbolic, personal guessing than actual reporting.

It's his understanding.

I could guess that what happens is like when people re-share stories to others. Details and exaggeration get added. You go from "Howie is interested in finding out what it would take to trade for Garrett" and then someone shares that and adds their own speculation, or compares to other deals. Then it becomes "What would it take to get Garrett? Three 1st round picks?" By the time someone "reports it," it becomes "Howie is willing to send three 1sts for Garrett."

Super Bowl windows are short. I’m not saying to be frivolous but is the 90th pick in a draft worth improving your pass rush even a little bit in key games? I don’t think the answer is clear cut either way.

But a 3rd round pick could be anyone even Curtis Marsh!

Would you trade AJ for Gonzalez straight up?

From a talent perspective, yes, but from a resource perspective, no. They would be better off with a first round pick.

It's absolutely hilarious when someone whines and complains about trade rumors and says they can't wait for the deadline to pass in a few days so they don't have to talk about trade rumors anymore, and then proceeds to spend the entire day talking about trade rumors

I feel seen

The source is Jerry Jones. Have you at all looked into this? I do agree there's FAKE NEWS everywhere tho.

Do you trust Jerry with respect to either the Eagles … his major competitor in the NFCE … or Micah. He is 100% capable of lying. But with that said, can you share the link to Jerry’s comments. I would love to read them.

that seems pointless

It's been widely reported that he did make an offer.

And those reporters are simply trolling for clicks.

Probably. Berry and Howie likely are friends too. It wouldn't surprise me if Howie checked in to see if he was available, Berry says no, Howie jokingly says "not even for 3 first round picks?" and then somehow it leaks out that Eagles are "super hot" for Garrett.

Herbstreit really asked if Ohtani is getting enough respect. Maybe after he cleans the semen encrusted phones of every baseball reporter in the country he'll get an idea of just how obsessed they are with the guy. It's beyond respect, it's crossed over into sexual.

Best I’ve ever seen without a doubt. Then again, I feel the same way as I do about Dallas: I don’t care who wins as long as the Dodgers/Turds lose.

Ok. So in that case, Carter wanted out so badly, he gave up money. Whether it benefitted one team or the other, he took less to get out of there. So what Im asking is, if there is anything AJ can do to help his way out of here. Obviously though it would need to benefit the eagles lessening some of that dead cap charge.

He didn’t give up money. He gave up an injury guarantee. The guarantee only applies if he gets injured. If he does not, he gets exactly what his salary and bonus dictate. Basically he assumed some risk.

That's fair. Jay Glazer on Fox Sports is different than some random local podcaster trying to get clicks. I only ever heard it on here so thought it was some rando on Twitter.

The Garrett trade seems to be a podcaster just making things up.

There's also the agents and teams that want to seem like there is buzz for their players that plant stories, so you never know. I do believe Howie explores opportunities to find out what the asking price is, he is a person that is obsessive about wanting all the information so he can make a decision. And he's not afraid to pull the trigger if he likes a deal.

Believe Charles Robinson from yahoo reported it. He’s broken news before. But really he’s the only one I’ve seen saying it

According to Glazer. Howie offered

two ones, a three, and a five, for Parsons. This is why I see three 1st rounders as excessive. Go Two 1st rounders and then lower picks or players. That's what Howie is willing to pay IMO. Jerry came back to Howie after that and couldn't get him to sweeten it. He was gonna make Howie overpay. As he should.

It would not surprise me to find out that Howie inquires about almost every available player to find out what the asking price is. It's why it's easy for media to link the Eagles to so many potential moves and get clicks and views for speculation.

I won’t tell you it is bull, but rather ask you a question, why would Jerry not send the Eagles back a counter offer?

Bummed to see this. Used to be part of my daily routine to read UW.

Because he's not trading him to a division rival under any scenario. His own words.

They are all due before Week 1 each year, so there's nothing to do there now

Can’t that be changed?

Jerry’s report specifically says there was no counteroffer, so no effort to get sweetening.

What's the point of changing it? 2025 bonus was already paid. 2026 bonus can be paid at any time before Week 1 2026, so they have all offseason to not pay it if they try to trade him (like they did with Goedert).

Understood, which is consistent with his statement that there was no counteroffer after the initial call. Howie got what he wanted … knowledge of the price for Micah.

You always find a way to get on different tangents of my original statement. Hilarious.

So, if I understand you correctly. If traded the 2026 bonus and all future bonuses would be the responsibility of the team he is traded to.

Yes, any unpaid bonuses transfer to the new team.

Your original statement was that Howie made a legitimate offer. My counter was that any call Howie made was not to make a bona fide offer, but rather to simply get information about the price the Cowboys were asking for.

I’ll play this Garrett game to kill time. Garrett is a better player than Parson and has already received his signing bonus so he’s worth more

And where did you hear this offer was fake news? That's an assumption. You don't think he has sincere interest in Micah Parsons who was stated to prefer the Eagles as his 1st choice. I don't wanna argue about this. Thanks for playing.
