Most of us didn’t think hunt would contribute at all last year. Transitioning to the position in just a year or two and was more of a project. He happened to start playing better and getting more snaps particularly after Graham went down. Too early to say for me that aziz and uche can’t be a solid 3rd pass rusher. Imo their bigger issue is the loss of Darius slay. Even at his age slay was still playing at a good level. Unless Bennett steps up or Mac is a good slot corner then i don’t think they have internally the guy. I like Bennett but they made that trade in training camp. It was going to take time for him to learn the defense.

Imo i think if they could do it over, they’d have stronger competition via FA entering minicamps for ringo then what they had with adoree

They were just wrong on Ringo (as was I, thought he’d win the job). I think they have to see what Bennett has, and if he can’t handle it by the trade deadline, Howie has to go shopping.

Rewatched the game and was it short, both offenses eating clock purposely.

Makes sense for Dallas. That defense is going to be a bottom 1/3 defense this year. Like that first half is likely what they are gonna look like against most good/great offense. So i kind of think ball control and eating clock makes sense for them.

Dad took a video despite them saying not to because…well, he’s 82 and DGAF. Got on TV as we were standing behind Lurie and BG. Epic night and Dallas sucks.

Starting Bennett, and signing Ferrel and Wilkins would go a long way for this defense.

Also, just having Jalen Carter would have made it look a lot different. Even if he got no sacks, hes going to result in numerous sacks for other players. The Edges were very good last night. I bet with Carter in the middle affecting the QBs ability to move in the pocket, those guys finish a bunch of those rushes. More drives end without points, or Dak rushes more throws and has some more INT worthy balls. Like the 3 he served up on the final drive.

We only need 1 player and he is already on the roster. On the other hand, they should go from the #1 defense to like 5th without him. It looked more like they dropped from 1 to about 28th which is too big of a reliance on 1 player. So yeah, they probably should address more DL depth.

I agree with your additions. Ferell would help in the DE rotation. Is Wilkins healthy? Is there a serviceable OG out there to fill in for Dickerson so he can rest and get that back healthy?

The other question I have i when can the Eagles sign a street FA without guaranteeing the full year salary? I know it is after week 1 but since they already played Week 1 can they sign them today? Or do they have to wait until all teams finish Week 1?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles did something though

Well, if what I read last night represents JC's true thoughts on the situation and he apologized to the team and commits to never doing something like that again, no reason to make it more than it already is. The game is over, the outcome was favorable, and he had a chance to learn from it and it sounds like he has already. If the veteran leadership and coaches have accepted his own recognition of the issue, and believe he has learned from it the FO should let it go. No need to beat a dead horse and potentially add to an already unfortunate situation.

Players are human, it's a very emotional game, players are also capable of maturing, I think this is a great opportunity for exactly that. The guy is a heck of a player and I am sure he was able to see what the outcome created from a defensive game plan perspective for his brothers in the pads and his coaches...it's not about the FO imo...it's about the guys putting in the hours on the field and in the planning rooms. Judgement and acceptance of your peers will always trump FO imo, that's why veteran leadership is so important, especially for a younger team defending a title.

TLDR; Time to move on, let it go. Trust the onfield leadership and coaches.

it is ok being wrong with ringo. but the process of not giving ringo actual competition prior to bennett bothers me. should’ve had better competition than adoree jackson. imo hasn’t been good enough in a couple years. Feels similar to maddox where he was good 3-4 years ago but he’s not that guy anymore and frankly probably shouldn’t be a guy competing for roster spot.

Yes. Was able to edit and add the iCloud link since my insta on private.

We were right behind BG and Lurie. Was insane.

They can sign today and not guarantee the salary. Head start on others.

I think @Joe Ball pointed it out last night as the play of the game. I think thats right. That was a key turning point. Without that stop, and the ensuing turnover we may not win that game considering how our second half offense looked.

So, the two plays of the game were tackles? One by Baun and one by Prescott?! Maybe Dak would be better as a MLB. 🤔

Being in the stadium, the lightning delay was a complete momentum killer. Crowd was dead at first coming back. Wasn’t shocked both offenses went into the toilet after that.

How is Adoree Jackson still on this team?

42 minutes ago, we_gotta_believe said:

He can't read a defense, obviously. We're never gonna win a super bowl with this scumbag at QB.

They likely wouldn't have won a Super Bowl with the offense playing like they did last night, or more specifically, the second half last night. A lot of variables at play, but they need to be better. That effort against a better opponent is an L.

Very cool. Must've paid good money to be that close. Did you slip Lurie some cash since he's broke? 🤣

LOL...nah, too soft, but yes, those two plays were the most impactful to the final outcome imo. Very entertaining leadoff game for the year. Pre-snap and special teams penalties were at a minimum which was also nice for a first game of the season. The PHI punter was outstanding btw.

Nobody knows at this point. Starters don't play in the preseason, so early season the team doesn't look that great. Assuming Carter is back for the next game, don't you think that would make an impact on the defense?

Hell id rather start Ringo than Adoree. Yeah he probably gets barbecued all game, but at least he’d put up a fight - and no way in hell the 50 yard run happens either.

The Eagles wanted Ringo to win that job and gave him every opportunity. The fact that he couldn't win it over Adore Jackson tells me he's just not that good.

I played corner in highschool 30+ years ago and was like 10th string and im pretty sure against the cowboys I could give up 100 completion% 100 yards and be useless against the run

I mean what the heck are we doing here?

Adoree has no business on a football field and if ringo cant beat him out either does he.

At keast ringo is a good special teamer

If jakorian doesnt get more snaps next week i might spit on Dak.😡

Guys like i said earlier in the day yesterday…. Week 1 is a trap game lol

And we beat the trap, despite Carter, some guys banged up with injury, all the penalties, all the new changes to defense, new OC, weather delay killing our momentum... on to week 2.

Obviously, but to blame it on Hurts (at least before even seeing all-22) reeks of an agenda from the exact same people that spent an entire season calling him a scumbag, before being unceremoniously shut up by a stellar performance and SB MVP in the biggest game of the year.
