He was okay for the Lions when I watched them, did well after Hutch went down, but also benefitted from guys like McNeil drawing attention, and a few coverage sacks where he just kept working until he got home. I don't expect him to be an impact player for long stretches of the season or make us forget the name Josh Sweat.

5 of them came in Cleveland with Jim Schwartz wide 9 also

Man my eyes are blurry I thought you said he has to figure it out (as if it was bad). Sorry!

Now I won't have to post about this weekly.

The immediate corresponding move was BVS to IR. In the long run, you have to think Patrick Johnson or Ogbo are cut and go to the PS no? I thought the inactive list was a bit head scratching last night. I never thought Ty Robinson would be inactive for the 1st game of the season, and running only 3 DE seemed a bit odd. Will be interesting to see how they handle DL on gameday moving forward.

Patrick Johnson isn't on the active roster. I think Aziz or Ogbo. Could be Aziz to get comp pick back. Not sure if that rule is still in effect

So if he works out then back to just CB 2. And Mr. C in the remedial class adoree

Could've just used the money we spent on Adoree and now Zadairius to have signe Jaire Alexander instead. Oh well.

I think Ogbo would go before him, but I'd rather they go deep there.

People got upset when i brought up jaire and signing him. Granted he is unlikely to stay healthy all year so need competent backup. But he wasn’t signed for very much and he’s better than the options at cb 2 when healthy

Eagles PR team needs to get him a new photo. 😄

They're crediting Campbell and Young for the strip fumble.

No, that loophole was closed. The comp pick is gone. His contract is fully guaranteed also so there's no real point in cutting him. Maybe they can trade him somewhere.

Interesting to sign a player right after the first game. Curious if he'll be adding another corner or depth anywhere else.

Howie is always looking to add talent throughout the entire year.

It was to avoid having his full compensation guaranteed as a vested veteran.

As long as they keep winning then whatever but it feels like a waste to have Devonta and AJ both here right now.

The offense feels like Barkley is the top priority and rightfully so. After that its just Hurts making some timely throws and him using his legs to move the chains.

And he got to avoid training camp.

A couple of things

I don’t think it had to do with his hamstring. Listening to Sirianni talk and hurts, it didn’t sound like the hamstring was the reason. Felt like what happened a few years back with smith having 0 receptions and 0 yards week 1 then week two he got peppered. This has been an issue before. Was pointed out last year (ravens into the panthers game). There has been times going all the way back to 2023 where they just don’t get him targets or looks. I don’t think this was a decoy situation and frankly if his hammy is still an issue and i don’t want him out there week 1 with potential to injure it further and lose him for another 2-4 weeks with the schedule we have ahead of us.

Secondly, I don’t think the Eagles are just going to be able run for another 2000 yards this year with saquon. they’ll be better than last night once OL gets healthier and just more continuity as didn’t play much in preseason. However NFL teams had an entire off-season to watch film and adjust. Granted they have a new offensive coordinator, but I don’t think the offense is completely overhauled and teams are going to adjust to eagles and saquon. felt this way at the end of last year that the eagles were gonna have to throw more and be better passing in 2025. That means figuring out ways and getting the ball to AJ brown more consistently at times. I hate Dallas but when their offense begins to bog down, they understand let’s get lamb on a mismatch (cause he’s better than most corners) and just throw it to him. Imo there’s times where this offense just needs to do the same thing with brown to get themselves jumpstarted. (This isn’t at hurts. This is more towards OC and sirianni needing to force feed brown at times as he’s too good not to run some designed plays for some easy pitch and catches)

I do believe AJ was primarily a decoy last night. I don’t think the hammy is bad enough to warrant appearing on the injury report. I do believe it is recent enough that not pushing to full acceleration last night plus a mini bye until the Chiefs game was a smart plan. I think that is what we saw last night.

I had my concerns about Makuba holding up because hes so small, but the guy plays smart takes good angles is constantly around the ball and unlike Brown doesnt light himself up trying to go for kill shots.

I just did not expect a rookie that missed a bit of camp to look this good. We have something with Mukaba. And I am not as down on Brown as others, but man if Mukaba is this good so far, then we have something.

And Campbell is going to be a monster. Early, I know but man it feels like our LBs will be top 3 unit in the league this year. Wow, what weapons they give Vic to blitz or rush them from the edge. And Baun is so smart and technically sound.

sirianni saying this makes me feel like it may just not have been the hammy. He’ll never say it’s the hammy but i also think he was healthy enough to be more productive than 1 target and a that target coming at a critical time in the game so believed in him enough and his hammy when it was crunch time. I tend to think they didn’t think he’d go off but i also don’t think they intended for 1 target in 60 mins

"A.J.’s obviously going to have to be involved more in the offense, but some games go this way. I get that will be a story and everything like that, but there are games that go this way. Look at [DeVonta Smith] Smitty in 2022 against Detroit. A.J. has, whatever, eight for 155 yards, and then Smitty has zero, and then the next game he has eight for 175 yards and a touchdown. So, that’s the way it goes.”

This is absolutely unfair to Jackson. Surely a CB has to be within five yards of a receiver to be considered a target.

Lol I really can’t believe he gave himself a C. We’ve seen some bad corner play over the years. I won’t say it’s the worse we’ve all seen but it wasn’t close to a C
