He's only 26 too. He's got plenty of time to continue to get better

I still find it shocking that they didn't get a better offer somewhere else

Jerry wanted to get a run-stopping DT in return, so it limited the teams he would be trading with.

If he wasn't so bad at this, he could have made a trade with a team that would at least be picking in the teens, not the twenties.

Baker has 3 KRs for an average of 26 yards. Would like to see the eagles continue trying to develop him in that role while on the PS.

There was no window.

With Parsons they go 8-9 and pick 15th, without Parsons, 6-11 and pick in the top 10 plus $40M or so to use in free agency.

I agree with this. Dallas is too far away. Wrapping up that kind of money in someone who will potentially be past his prime by the time they are competing?

Now they save the money (can tank for a better pick, although Jerry won’t do that) and have more draft capital. On the surface, they are humiliated. But it was better for their future.

Jerry did this because he had no choice, not because of foresight. But if Howie were in that situation, it’s something he may have done.

Remember two years ago when it seemed like about half of our games were played in the rain? Who remembers the 2018 opener when there was a thunderstorm which delayed the game and forced a (very) rushed banner reveal that fans could easily have missed?

Well, the forecast for next Thursday night has rain and thunder. We’ve been dry for WEEKS and the only rain in the forecast is Thursday evening. Awesome timing. I’m so delighted.

I mean McKinsey Management charged Warner Bros $150 million dollars to consult on rebranding HBO. Their big idea was to change it to Max.

I have never understood why companies pay huge sums for MBAs with 2-3 years of experience to put together some BS then have a senior partner give a powerpoint presentation.

I've worked with MBAs from top schools, they're bright, facile but poorly educated (Sloan school gives their course reading lists on-line if you want a feel), mile wide but an inch deep, and they tend to spout cliches at the drop of a hat.

I've read a number of McKinsey reports, competent, slick but nothing special.

I've got the "consensus" best business books of the last 40 years on my phone (something to do while you wait), up to the "Gs" now.

There are a few very good books, but most are HBR essays bloated into 200 pages with lots of padding.

Some steak, but an awful lot of "sizzle."

Howie wouild have signed him early, but if the Eagles were mired in mediocrity, well, we just saw 4 years ago what he'd do. And it wouldn't be a PR campaign.

Parsons isn't a 2 game difference player for the Cowboys Cowboys record hinges much more on how Dak plays. Don't get me wrong, love the payer Parsons is, but on Dallas he was wasted as Dak is much more integral to their success or failure.

Cowboys game on the horizon. Anyone think Parsons plays?

No

I'll never forget that Eagles game against the Jets two years ago in the rain.

How many spots does Howie think he has on the PS 🤣

The NFL you can be a pile of crap one year and contenders the next. You give Parsons the money. He can make a defense a top 10 by himself and we saw it when he can back from injury last year

The real key isn't Dak but the OL, they've put a lot of draft capital into it, (3) 1st and a 3rd, but with little to show for it so far. Should be better inside, but both OTs are suspect.

Good WRs, TEs meh, RB meh.

What should scare Jones is there wasn't a huge falloff from Dak to his backup last season, and it's not like the league has been throwing draft picks at Dallas to pry away Cooper Rush.

Dak's been injured 3 of the last 5 years, and while he bounced back in 2023, he's now 32 and has been in decline since 2021.

The defense was putrid with Parsons last yaer, while Clark will help the run defense, they simply lack any outstanding players on defense, it should be in the bottom five. Without a good pass rush, that secondary will be swiss cheese.

When the Eagles win the SB again and Patullo is poached would Mike McDaniel make a good OC? He'll be available but Steichen will probably be too.

Dan Orlovsky's face when Adam Schefter is explaining why the Cowboys decided to trade Parsons.

Jerry's an idiot, something we all appreciate.

If I'm trading Parsons, given the dreck on the roster, I'm going full tank mode, accumulating draft picks and shedding more salary the next year or two.

the 4 games without Parsons, they gave up 121 points, 13 with, 347 points

so 30.3 v 26.7.

they were a better team with Parsons, but they still weren't a GOOD team. 1-3 without him, 6-7 with him.

With hiim in the lineup, they held Cleveland, NYG and CAR to under 20 points. Without him, they held PItt to 17.

What a glorious time! The cherry would be destroying the Cowboys on opening day and Saquon running for 200. Regardless we just won the SB and Dallas traded away their best player so life is good but I'm greedy

I see a lot of Sunday golf in my future this football season. Football Saturdays and golf Sundays. Can’t wait to see more road fans at AT&T than DAL home fans because that will happen also.

Will that provide a wake up call for the Joneses?

A lot of shuffling going to have to happen to the PS in the coming days.

Starting to feel more and more like Eagles won't add an Edge.

With ridiculous story telling like this, nothing would shock me. People are paid to come up with this crap.
