Tuesday at 12:35 AM2 days I like Bigsby more than Dillon, and with Shipley down - it looks like we needed more of a playmaker at RB2.
Tuesday at 12:37 AM2 days We’ll see how it plays out, but with Tanks draft pedigree, NFL resume, and the comp that we gave up to get him….it just seems like more than a KR.

I happened to like both of those guys coming out. Tank was valued about right because he is one of those dime a dozen tough runners without a lot of receiving chops that are numerous in each draft class and go in the mid rounds.Shipley was a guy I said was extremely undervalued. He runs harder than anyone gave him credit for. He was more athletic than anyone gave him credit for and that showed on film, not just combine. And his receiving skills are excellent. He was not valued right in that draft class. Most people would take Tank based on name recognition. But that doesnt make it the right choice. Again, I like them both. Shipley is the more well rounded player.

Would be senseless to not give him some rushes here.

Tuesday at 12:42 AM2 days There is Rodgers. With the Viking playing like crap maybe Howie can get him back in a few weeks
Tuesday at 12:44 AM2 days Caleb still looks jittery. Don’t think he’s let it rip at the top of his drop yet. Everything is improv ball. You’ll get some exciting plays out of it, but not sure how sustainable that is. Did the same thing in college.
Tuesday at 12:45 AM2 days The fifth-round pick is the one the Eagles acquired from San Franscisco in exchange for defensive end Bryce Huff in June, a source told ESPN. That pick would become a fourth-round pick if Huff has eight sacks in 2025, and the Eagles agreed to send the Jaguars that fourth-round pick instead of the fifth-round pick if that happens. Per Tim McManus

Per Tim McManusWTF Howie. As good as he has been his in season trades have been bad and this seems to be another. A backup RB is not worth giving up a 4th and a 6th for. Neither is a KR. They have real needs and he is burning picks on luxuries. Unless he turns them into the Lions last year this is not a good trade.
Tuesday at 12:47 AM2 days Maybe they like Bigsby as a two-down player in case of a Barkley injury, but Shipley is the No. 2/passing down back when Barkley is healthy IMO. I believe this is slightly more about returning kicks than as a running back. The fact he can contribute as both, though, provides value. Being on a cheap two-year deal is nice too.

No CB2s for a 5th/possible 4th and a 6th?
Tuesday at 12:50 AM2 days 7 minutes ago, Parrot Head said:Will also has a history of injuries, I believe.yeah. clearly thats a problem right now. I refuse to believe the trade has nothing to do with his health, because as mentioned, those WRs they worked out today both had KR experience. And they didnt need another physical RB2 because Shipley is awesome.I think Bigsby is filling in as RB2, and returning kicks while Shipley is out. When Shipley is back, I think Dillon may be demoted to practice squad. And I dont think it much matters what the depth chart says- both Bigsby and Shipley should get RB snaps. And of course, Shipley will end up being used more as the receiving back. Bigsby will get more handoffs. But it should be a pretty even share of RB2 snaps.
Tuesday at 12:50 AM2 days Interesting move, nonetheless. I like it either way.And it does not preclude them from using more picks for other positions. We still have 10 or 11 picks, I believe.

Howie already traded away some late picks, but he also got some in return. It feels like he spent a bunch, but he didnt really. Still having like 10 picks means he still has plenty of ammunition to get something of higher perceived importance done.

I know they occasionally hit but getting guys you feel confident will give you 2 years of contribution has value
Tuesday at 12:54 AM2 days I have to say I absolutely LOVE our backfield now.I was always annoyed with guys like Gainwell, and Scott who were just ok.Now, I love every one of our RBs. (Except Dillon but maybe hes off the 53 soon).

Tuesday at 12:59 AM2 days Given how important the run game is to this team, I don’t mind investing in RB. That said, I’d rather of drafted Merritt over a slow footed OL project. I thought he could be our Pacheco, but I digress.
