Right now, our OL is nowhere near what we had in the SB. I don't think the Chiefs will have to stack the LOS to stop the run.

You might be right, but in terms of game planning I'd be stunned if they tried to play the Eagles straight up and risk Saquon and Hurts dominating the game. That would be humiliating to them.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do what the Cowboys did in the second half. See if Patullo will be stubborn and run into stacked boxes

  • It’s really cool that the Eagles have become an antichoke team. A lot of that is that Hurts has the sideline disposition of a corpse whether it is September or the SB.

Zadarius Smith takes his place as a 3/4 DE. Edge is the wrong term a 274 pound DE. The DEs are basically Ojomo, ZS, Robinson (when he is ready) and Young. ZS and OO are more DE than OLB when the Eagles go light and both can probably play BG "DT”. (Although OO has played some OLB). Ojomo, Robinson and Young also can line up in traditional DT alignments. Vic loves diversity.

Tank is the BVS replacement, ZS is the Gabe Hall replacement. Cue some Beat to say Tank isn’t a FB and ZS is a pass rush specialist.

Robinson isn't strong enough to line up as a DT, you could see that in the exhibition games - which is why he isn't dressing right now. Needs a year in the weight room.

Young is more of a DT than Ojomo, Smith can fill the BG role and move inside on obvious passing downs.

Hall was the odd man out b/c they're in 4-2-5 more often than 3-4 sets, so they need depth at DT.

NFL.com disagrees with you. They had Majors as the top rated Center, with Willie Lampkin 2nd and Drew Kendall 6th.

This is why Howie uses 6th and 7th rd picks as trade bait. Picked up Majors and Lumpkin off waivers.

Majors has 30 1/2 arms or so which is a problem, basically only a center.

Good mobility at the second level, but will struggle with reach blocks.

He’s worth a look. He was a stud in a big-time program. Howie is just being Howie. If measurables were all we would need then there would be no Aaron Donalds among an infinitude of others. To leap to another sport, Charles Barkley was a tremendous player and power forward. I met him in a shoe store. I’m 6’5” and I’m two inches taller than he is. My measurable beats his. Athleticism is nice but how a guy plays is not always reducible to measurables.

Problem is he's center only with those arms, makes me think of Hank Fraley, who did manage to start for 9 years.

What he did was a non football act. They view it differently. I’m not saying at all that he deserved more just that’s it different than a football play

Well I mean shoving someone to the the ground while their team is huddling before a play has even started would be a non football act as well.

You're factoring in Becton dropoff plus Landon's injuries, or larger wk 1 OL play?

Assuming Gore and AP get in, Fred Taylor is the only player with more rushing yards who isn’t in the HOF — and Henry might move past Taylor this week.

Long-time good-not-great stat accumulators shouldn't get in the Hall. Comparing Henry to Gore is an insult to Henry.

All three. Plus it looks to me that Mailata’s battling injury.

Not sure i would say crucial. He played half the season. Mills and Douglas were the starters when he returned from injury and remained there. Robinson had NCB locked. Corey Graham slid into the hybrid S/LB/DB role when Hicks got hurt. He certainly started his tenure with a bang (int), but then dislocated his ankle 8 mins (IIRC) into his time here.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that was his first season out of three he played here.

So Hurts could go to Tennessee and have them winning the Super Bowl within 2 years? After all, he only needs JAGS around him (according to you)

Anyone saying Hurts is better than Burrow needs to be ignored lol

You are asking a bunch of long term married guys for advice on dating? Every day for me is a date with the redhead dream. And I still misread signals after 42 years.

I’m 43 years with my red headed dream and not a day goes by without a missed signal … frequently more than one.

Well, I am a newlywed by comparison, closing in on 39 years. Missed signals still abound.

Who remained where? Douglas remained the starting RCB? I think you're mixing up seasons or something. Darby was the starter when he came back.

You right, kind of mixing up seasons. Douglas and Darby had a ‘rotation’ until Darby got comfortable. Mills remained CB1/LCB. For some reason i thought Douglas played far more than he actually did.

Yes, but he was acquired in TC, not in season. (Which from what i read, ‘in season acquisition’ was the core of the discussion). Jake from State Farm was the in season acquisition (though a PS pick up signing). Matthews and a 3rd for him IIRC. For the most part he was a passable player out there during his tenure.

That's because they don't even know what they are signaling.

I don't think it's that simple. Is Burrow a better passer than Hurts? I think so though Hurts has a very good long ball. Is Hurts a better runner than Burrow? I think so. Is Hurts better at running the Tush Push? Hell yeah. 😂

Didn't want any part of that jaggy jag jersey number...

Given that the NFL is moving away from a real preseason, I would submit that it might be better to formulate the schedule of as follows:

Weeks 1-5: Inter-conference games

Weeks 6-18 Conference games plus bye

Saving the better ball for the games, where the tiebreakers are more important.

As a leader of his team?

Call me biased and all but I still prefer the pocket passing QB over the one that runs. Pass it to the receivers or hand the ball off to the RB

If Ricks is off the practice squad, we may be seeing a new CB on the roster next. Seems like he's balancing out position groups between practice squad and roster. I just can't see Fangio starting Jackson this Sunday. Dropped Ringo after 1 bad preseason game. And has not been complimentary at all of Jackson since training camp. Waiting for the other shoe to drop here.

They're going to give Bennett a shot first before looking for outside help, IMO.

So is tomorrow the first game of the season that's strictly on a streaming platform? I don't recall any in week 1
