  • They just announced the flight crew is from Dallas… So I yelled "GO BIRDS” Waiting for the Air Marshall to take me out

  • It’s really cool that the Eagles have become an antichoke team. A lot of that is that Hurts has the sideline disposition of a corpse whether it is September or the SB.

Forgive my ignorance. What is the golden badge and why should I care?

You know the NFL badge on the collar of the jersey? This year, MVP, OPOY, DPOY, etc all got a gold NFL badge. Barkley wore it for week 1.

Now, I saw on facebook, without cited sources that he said he wore it week 1, but will not continue wearing it unless the whole team gets one because he is not worthy, it was a team accomplishment.

Sounds like a Barkley thing to say but there are so many faked quotes on facebook these days...

I think it is hilarious that a 231 pound RB (BVS) is a FB for a 233 lb RB, Barkley, or 247 lb RB, Dillon. Did you watch BVS as a blocker? It was ugly. I don’t think Tank would be worse. I played in the Veer and Wishbone times. Our rival ran a Wing T. Every back blocked, including the QB in the option. Based on what I have seen, Tank is a better runner than BVS. Of course, he isn’t a FB, but neither is BVS at this point. Much better, if we want that type of blocking is Granson as a HBack.

FB is where the player lines up. Traditionally a FB lined up fully back, the halfback was halfway back and the quarterback was a quarter back. In the I, the FB flipped with the RB. But accept for a straight ahead into the line play, the FB, like the HBack or the TE are blocking on the move. Tank is plenty big and plays with enough force to move block. Pretty much most of those blocks are to seal an edge or more likely a LB or S.

That said, Tank is not a FB but I think he is better than BVS (who I like for his try). Better vision, probably a bit worse hands (as a receiver). Same try hard attitude.

We run a ton of split zone and power and precious little power I even when BVS was healthy. Please note that power and power I are completely different things. Power is a running play where an off-side player pulls and leads an RB through a gap. It’s a trap without a predetermined gap run rather than a zone run. The power I is just a formation with the QB under center and a FB and RB lined up directly behind him.

Ah.. NVM. I LOVE IT!!!!

Seriously though, that place is a disgrace. The 'update' they put on it years ago made an old style facade with a colonnade... And dropped a weird looking spaceship on top of it. wacko

Yup, spaceship - exactly what I thought.

Who plays an angrier game on Sunday, Jalen Carter or AJ Brown? Excited to see both of these guys come out on fire.

I have thought all week any AJ Brown overs are probably good bets this week. This is one of those weeks Hurts forces him the ball a lot probably.

Albert O still out there...

And somehow we’ll burn a pick on him again.

He leaves me cold. Hemingway too. For Whom the Bell Tolls is unreadable. Orwell, Hammett, Chandler, Kafka, Graham Greene, Borges, Garcia Marquez, Joan Didion are more my speed.

To be honest it has been a while for all of those. Mostly nonfiction or fluff for me nowadays but loved Travels with Charley. Did you even try that?

Nope. Too easy.

So Hurts could go to Tennessee and have them winning the Super Bowl within 2 years? After all, he only needs JAGS around him (according to you)

Weak Straw Man

I said Hurts did not always have great teams. 2021 and 2023 were not great teams. Hurts still got to the playoffs.

Burrow could not get the 7th seed in the AFC last year. He chocked big time vs New England and he lost every shootout.

I say plenty. Ask me a question and I will answer it. Be an adult and stop putting imaginary words and scenarios on people who never said or thought them.

My Frankenstein experiment is to have Sydney Brown in that lead blocker role.

Carter is going to be out of his mind. I have this vision of him and Davis, who looks so fast on that Dallas video @HazletonEagle posted above, just going off.

Would love a W, but also one that leaves no doubt.

Xavier Watts is doing well, this will Mukuba’s ‘what if’ competition.

Glad my boy Tory Horton is getting PT.

Watts is one of the guys I was interested in. I was interested in a lot of guys they either passed on or who went too high in round 2.

FWIW

Howie has filled the 17 player Practice Squad with 23 different players so far.

If you combined the yardage from his entire 5 year career to date as a single year, that single year would still be 37 yards shy of Justin Jefferson's worst year, or put another way, Justin Jefferson had a better 10 games in 2023 than Reagor has had 5 year career.

What a doozy of a pick, whatever else Howie has achieved and may go on to achieve, picking Reagor ahead of Jefferson is always going to come up in articles about worst draft screw ups.
