You know the NFL badge on the collar of the jersey? This year, MVP, OPOY, DPOY, etc all got a gold NFL badge. Barkley wore it for week 1.

Now, I saw on facebook, without cited sources that he said he wore it week 1, but will not continue wearing it unless the whole team gets one because he is not worthy, it was a team accomplishment.

Sounds like a Barkley thing to say but there are so many faked quotes on facebook these days...

As soon as I heard the gold badge nonsense I thought, why isn't it that the previous years SB winners get a gold NFL badge for the next season? Individual players IS a dumb idea.

Most of the time, I agree with the "oh but why was he out there" line of thought with in-season with acquisitions.

With Za'Darius Smith, it seems clear he wanted to skip training camp.

New definition for the Blog. "Acceptable Loss”; means when ESP is lost to another city and team or retires. Not applicable to the Birds.

Who plays an angrier game on Sunday, Jalen Carter or AJ Brown? Excited to see both of these guys come out on fire.

Was thinking the same thing about Carter. He's probably going to play like Charles Jefferson in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Smith chose Eagles because of Big Dom.

Sounds like Big Dom made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Are there any legitimate beat guys around anymore?

I think we have a good slate of reporters. Berman, McLane, McManus, Mosher, Olivia Reiner and EJ Smith all still wriIte sourced articles on the team. Jimmy Kempski has also significantly improved his journalism over the years. He has good insights into the team that aren't hyperbole. He makes insightful observations during practices. I think he, Sheil and Bo Wulf have a better understanding of the game and performance than the other more traditional journalists. There's just there's also a lot of pundits and quasi-journalists. The media has significantly changed from written to short tweets and podcasts. Access to athletes and athletes ability to push out stories has changed. On top of that statistics and film analysis has impacted the reporting. Fran Duffy and Shawn Syed both provide very good analysis of the games it's just not in a newspaper anymore.

Agreed 100 percent. We’re fortunate to have the group we do covering the team.

Which one of us is gonna goF up Jalen’s vehicle?

If you combined the yardage from his entire 5 year career to date as a single year, that single year would still be 37 yards shy of Justin Jefferson's worst year, or put another way, Justin Jefferson had a better 10 games in 2023 than Reagor has had 5 year career.

What a doozy of a pick, whatever else Howie has achieved and may go on to achieve, picking Reagor ahead of Jefferson is always going to come up in articles about worst draft screw ups.

Howie says everyone makes mistakes, but I got two rings that say I make fewer mistakes than the Viking front office!

The irony of those decisions, in hindsight, is not picking JJ lead to a review of the pro side of the team that changed the team fundamentally. THe joy of those conversations is the Eagles may have missed out on that WR with Reagor, but the overall 53 roster has been significantly better than than the Vikes overall.

Funny how life works eh?

They are going to psych Sykes? Howie just trolling now.

This is how Howie extends the PS, it means a few extra paychecks for guys on the edge, gets them some time practicing with the team, so they can step right back in when an opening appears (injuries, signings by other teams).

I think some of the churn is deliberate.

Personally, I learn more from my mistakes than when I get things right.

I hope you have to suffer through another 30 years of Hurts being QB1 and playing exactly the way he does. You're not a fan You're a hater. Good job Hurts! Keep winning. These idiots will keep whining.

You are absolutely correct that Howie does this to keep people around that the team likes. I don't think they are alone in doing it but it's not something that every franchise effectively manages. Lurie probably doesn't get the credit he deserves to be willing to spend that money. It's definitely not money that a lot of other owners are willing to spend.

They also chose to give Kirk Cousins boatloads of money for a guy that has never won truly important games.

Same here. Its one thing I always tell my team. Mistakes happen, but its what we do after the mistake that's most important. Doesn't always work, but I don't want them being cautious in fear of mistakes

Howie obviously reworked the scouting department, because since that draft, he's got one of the best draft records in the NFL.

2021: D Smith (10), Dickerson (37), Williams (73), Gainwell (150), P Johnson (234)

2022: Davis (13), Jurgens (51), Dean (83), Calcaterra (198)

2023: Carter (9), N Smith (30), Steen (65) S Brown (66), McKee (188), Ojomo (249)

2024: Mitchell (22), Cooper (40), Hunt (94), Shipley (127), Trotter (155), Wilson (185)

Jonny Page provides good game analysis as well.

I posted the stats of NFL retractable roofs when Lurie was talking about the new stadium.

Texans-197 games at Reliant Stadium, 49 have had open roof.

Colts- 146 games at Lucas Oil, 25 have had open roof.

Cardinals- 166 games at Reliant Stadium, 22 games have had open roof.

Falcons- 68 games played at MB Stadium, maybe 3 games have had open roof?

Cowboys- 139 games at AT&T, 25 games have had open roof.

716 NFL games played at stadiums with retractable roofs.

124 NFL games have had the roof open.

Retractable roof=DOME.

I personally thought it would have been lower. 17% is pretty low though either way.

Semi related…last time the Turds opened theirs up didn’t a piece fall off and almost kill someone?
