Just saw that we signed Kenyon Green to the 53. Our guard depth is just awful.

Matt Pryor is a more experienced and accomplished backup OG than Steen was last year going into the season. And we didn't even have a legit backup OC. Keegan stunk and Kinnard was and still is pretty much an unknown.

Phillies... nonono

The Kenyon Green signing is so odd. Only reasonable explanation is that another team was going to sign him to their roster and Howie doesn't want to give up that quickly on a part of that trade being as bad as it was.

Francis Mauigoa is so good for Miami tonight. Easy replacement for Lane

Fano, Proctor and Mauigoa are all just juniors… it would be nice if they came out.

Yep but I’m not aware of a guard injury that just happened so why would a team not claim him and then commit to 3 or 4 weeks on active roster by poaching him from PS? Only think u can think of is they didn’t want original contract.

It wouldn't have to be one that just happened, but could be to someone a team didn't want to put on IR immediately and use a spot for return, but could still come back from it later. So, the injured player sits on the 53 through cut down day, then gets moved to IR after... freeing up a spot on the roster for Green. Which is exactly what happened with Lampkin and Green.

Happy Labor day! Big game to start on Thursday night. Go birds!

Is Green ready for game action? He did not do much in pre-season. PS would be the right place for him to improve and learn the system. Another team might want to sign him to their active roster which prompted the Eagles' action. Lampkin came via a trade and injured. Moving him to IR makes sense, though not as a corresponding move for Green, IMHO. It is likely more changes Howie will do in the coming weeks.

Who will get the most grief here on Thursday?

Adoree Jackson every time a Cowboy catches a pass

Kevin Patullo every time the offense doesn't score

Jalen Hurts for any play that doesn't work

I’m, Green is a physical monster who doesn’t know how to play. Keeping him means Stout thinks he can teach him. It’s a risk but with a huge reward possible. The cost is minimal.

You have 7 players who don't dress, Howie uses those slots for prospects he thinks might become starters that might otherwise be claimed during the season, usually by bad teams that are building for the future.

Notice there are few players on the PS who can be reasonably projected to start down the road, the rookies and second year players tend to project as future backups (Hall, for example).

Cooper is a good example, if they thought his upside was #4/#5, Howie wouldn't worry about exposing him on the PS.

Veterans can now be stashed on the PS, practice with the team and be ready to go instead of having to pick them up off the street.

So your real injury depth are those PS veterans, since you can't activate the players you don't dress on game day and you then have a week to decide who to promote from the PS.

Best Case scenario is that Green magically turned a corner and they are seeing that recently and view him as a good option at backup LG. Seems unlikely but who knows? Most likely a temporary move to prevent another team from grabbing him but they'll probably cut him when they need the spot

Is Q going to shadow? I know they had him work on it in the offseason

That should help a ton

Adoree will be blamed for any defensive miscues even if they aren't his fault, because everyone will go into the game with a preconception that he's a problem so everything will be blamed on him even if they aren't his fault. He's going to play well Thursday.

Lamb is predominantly a slot WR; I doubt they’ll have Q playing in the slot much, because then you need two guys at boundary CB who didn’t start there last season

That still leaves Adoree on Pickens.

Will Q follow CeeDee into the slot, or leave him with DeJean when that happens?

What we as fans think (blame) really doesn’t matter.
