I’d be really surprised if he’s in the playoff rotation. I kind think it has to be Sanchez, Ranger, luzardo and if you need a 4th maybe Walker buehler if he looks good down the stretch.

Let me say this, I like Nola. I wanted to give him a four-year contract and ok with a fifth year or fifth year mutual option. I did not remotely want them to go six or seven considering what his age was and how many innings he had put on. Was a report the Braves we’re going to offer 7 but i call BS. They had pitchers with similar WAR numbers and refused to go more than 4.

Gotta just hope he bounces back in 2026 which since 2021 he’s gone bad, good, bad, good, bad.

Yeah Nola's agent pulled some magic with that contract. That said, I think he can come back - he's had bad streaks before (not as bad as this year) but he's been able to snap out of them.

Nola should be the game 1 starter. He's having a great year and is most clutch player I've ever seen in all my years watching sports. There's no one I trust more in a playoff setting than him. He's the greatest Phillie of my lifetime, better than Schmidt.

Whose genius idea was it to put the Giants on SNF next week? Give me one good reason other than they just want a NY team on primetime even though the Giants have been in the dumpster of the NFL for years now?

SKOL?

You took the only reason.

All joking aside, career wise he's among the top 5-10 pitchers in Phillies history. As fans, we should hope he pulls out of whatever he's going through because we're paying him a lot of money for several more years.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! They should do the action news theme to Coop's pick 6 and The Dagger.

Yup...a very important road win against a team who kept 8-9 in the box on every play with blitzing non-stop. That is a tough very loud place to play and the offense held its composure here. Seeing so much pressure early in the season will pay dividends down the road. A great character test for a very young defense... all in all a great win. But...of course...the usual resident trolls are already trying to return their ongoing tired agenda....hoping to set up a loud ITYS down the road...part narcissism part ignorance at this point...never ends.

Unfortunate he stinks this year and didn’t fall off in 2026. They could really use him to be good considering they are without wheeler. I’m curious to see how they look against the dodgers this week. Got Ranger and Sanchez in the first two games. Good chance if you get the 2 seed that your first playoff opponent is the dodgers.

We had some questions about the D. All of them have been answered outside of CB2 and there are 2 options getting up to speed.

Now about the play calling, routes, and hot reads...

I think he did for coop’s pick six a couple days after the Super Bowl

I'm not even kidding. I think he's been great. My theory is people turned on him once they found out he didn't get vaccinated some years back. Ever since then everyone's been a Nola hater and not based on merit. I watched the game today he was electric.

Did you turn it off before the 6th inning?

Well let's go back 2 years and bring a suggestion no one has brought up yet.

We could hire Frank Reich as a consultant 😂 😂

The one thing about the offense that bothers me most is the absence of called runs for Hurts - this includes read options.

The cynical could assume that Hurts lobbied those out of the playbook.

No, I saw that. He can't control where a ball goes once it hits a bat, he can only control where the ball goes once it leaves his hand. That's physics, not bad pitching. I'd unquestionably start him game 1 and I'll win because that's all the guy does is win.

For me its going to be the every short down play has to be a run into the line until they stop.

More likely to be just don’t want to get the star QB killed early in the season.

The way I see it, you try to play safe with the QBs health early in the season.

My bigger issue is teams are really putting the cage on Barkley and we don’t seem to be able to take advantage of it. Last year this resulted in all those long TD runs as he broke through stacked boxes into dayligh, but so far that hasn’t happened.

I took notice of the tight offensive formations used creating little room with the Chiefs showing 8-9 in the box with pressure. It would have made more sense to spread them out and create the gaps for Hurts and Barkley to exploit. I think the Eagles really missed Goedert today, and I am still dumfounded why the TE position wasn't prioritized this offseason.

I hate that it’s so reliant on him because he’s never healthy, but Goedert is a key cog to the offense, specifically passing game. Nothing felt easy today and they need him back as a security blanket for Hurts.

But that reeked of the 2023 Brian Johnson offense today minus the designed draws for Hurts. AJ running nothing but slants, a WR screen (which actually resulted in a nice gain), and just zero creativity. As bland as it gets.

The Eagles are 16-0 in the last 16 games Hurts started and finished. (counting a SB playoff run capped with SB MVP)

He has 19 TDs to 2 picks in those games.

He has 20 rushing TDs in those games

He lost 2 fumbles in those games.

39 TDs to 4 turnovers. He is the greatest Eagle's QB in their history and is playing like a clear HoF player.

Actually, I found today's Dallas/NY clash pretty entertaining.
