Bennett was very disappointing oin that Mahomes TD run. The KC WR wasn't even trying to block Bennett as he had his back towards Bennett. Bennett hides behind the WR and lets Mahomes run right by him. This can be seen on the far endzone replay. I'm for giving Ringo another shot if that is the best Bennett can do.

This tush push false start talk is dumb. That’s the same thing the OL-DL would do on a regular QB sneak. Has nothing to do with the push element

Haven't looked, do you know the qtr and roughly how much time was left on the clock?

3 minutes

Reed vacated the middle of the field.

It's interesting to me we were all worried about the defense coming into the season. They have work to do but Vic has been able to adjust quickly with so many new pieces and they will get better as the season goes along. He deserves a lot of credit.

yep, just found it and edited the post above. 90% Reed on that, but Q was a step slow too so maybe 10% since he still might've broken it up with his speed had he not been dazzled by the late motion.

As someone mentioned Hurts gets picked if AJ doesn't make that crazy catch and snatch the ball. It was directly at the Chiefs player

Yep. I think we got lucky at another point in the game as well. Second galf maybe? I remember going what the hell Hurts. If we are counting those the defense should have had a few more last week.

This has nothing to do with Jalen Hurts.

Of course it does... he's the one standing in shotgun or under center. Duh.

Greenie on Get up called the tush push an abomination then seconds later in the same segment said hell never understand how a marque league allows the play.

Wonder how much the league office pays him to spread his anti tush push propaganda...😒

Then schefter when asked about the chiefs inability to run the ball went in a 30 seconds tirade against the tush push and whining no one knows how to officiate it and calling for its ban.

He must have gotten more than greenie from the league office to spread his drivel...

Agree but, they can give him multiple choices out of the same formation. If he makes the wrong choice it’s one thing but there should be passes out of the run formations and vice versa.

If he’s calling the same audible out of the same formation a dozen times and some times several plays in row, maybe they should have a chat with him. I doubt that’s what is happening though because it wasn’t that predictable last year.

Jalen probably has too much say in the offense but I don’t think the bland predictability is his fault.

I tend to agree with you.

I'm trying to make that my focus. We won a game that I had expected to be a loss. So, that's a major plus. The flip side is that the offense looked very pedestrian in the process. The good part is that once again, the defense looked very good. They have a few wrinkles to work through, but by and large, they are the strength of the team. It just goes to show the importance of having an old salt at DC. There are a lot of personnel changes on the defensive side of things, but the same system, the same attitude and the same pillars on the roster.

Totally agree. It’s the defense that makes this a better vibe than 2023 and it’s the strength of this team right now. Back then it seemed we got very very lucky winning some games and we all said, wait until they finally play their "A” game. The defense back then was an atrocious sieve. We’re not that now.

The positive on offense is that they’re not committing turnovers. Hurts has been very pedestrian passing the ball and I don’t think it’s all on him. He doesn’t look so flustered when pressure comes and doesn’t take stupid sacks so far. Trying to see it more positive, especially with his "all around” performance in week one.

Fangio has been waaaaay better than I would’ve ever imagined. He has done well with the young guys and it shows on the field. Jordan Davis has been balling as well and I’m glad they picked up that option. If the new pieces improve as they should, this defense will be scary good going forward. Need to stay healthy and definitely fix that CB2 position, but all in all I’m very happy with our D.

This is a take but I don't think there's a bunch of people defending Hurts in the blog. I do think Hurts is very focused on not making mistakes. But why are they throwing this ball to Metchie? It's a not a great throw but it also has our 2 best receivers blocking for him.

that the receiver to the bottom of the screen did not look back until he was past that window

Exactly, and when he does, he looks over his left shoulder, not his right shoulder, because he's running a go. All things that the QB would obviously know and factor into his decision on where to go with the ball, but people like HE will still get on their soapbox and paint it as some egregious miss.

Just shut up, HE

JR has forgotten more ball than you know. Your schtick is tired and boring and just projecting your massive inferiority complex.

Not to take a side in this.... but this expression has always been a curious one to me. If a person has forgotten more football than another person currently knows, isn't it still possible that the second person actually knows more currently than the one who's forgotten so much? 🤔

You'd think a team would want to protect their franchise QB that's putting up all these stats and carrying the team but I guess not

Wanting to protect him, and knowing how are two very different things. For the longest time the Eagles WANTED to find a stud WR... but no matter how hard they tried... they always failed.

My hope is that this predictability is a set up future, important games. At some point they will have to throw out of being under center, etc.

BTW, a team that does not do play action with Barkely facing a stacked box is dumb. Hopefully they start doing that. If not, I'm gonna have to write Sirianni a letter expressing my disappointment and aggravation.

Make sure it is a strongly worded letter.

Allen's flopping is nearing LeBron levels. Maybe every surpassing.

He's just trying to keep up with Mahomes.

Someone said it was Mukuba's responsibility to drop back to help. Reed was coming down to take the crossing route.

To be fair, the ball was in the air when AJ stumbled - if he hadn't made that amazing catch, AJ would have been responsible for the INT, not Hurts.

Although it's predictable that someone would post it again, it's still not as predictable as Patullo.

Eric, Shane Haff, JT O'Sullivan, Dan Orlovsky, etc, none of them know that they're talking about. The only one that does is user HazeltonEagle from the unofficial Eagles Message Board.

Wait a minute... I thought this was the OFFICIAL Eagles Message Board?! 😲

Not sure about that. Maybe they meant Reed jumps the crosser because Mukuba didn't get the proper depth post-snap, but asking Mukuba to swing back and help cover a skinny post from the flanker on the opposite side of the field is a bit of a stretch.

True but different positions

I wasn't blaming him. I was saying he'd have a pick if AJ didn't pull that off
