They're so focused on the false starts but not the offsides

F em. Keep running the play

Simple solution to eliminate false starts in the Tush Push. Force the crowd to shut the F up so the players can hear the cadence. While you’re at it, outlaw the silent count since you won’t need it. And have all games played on neutral sites. If it rains or snows, cancel the game and score it as a tie.

I don't remember when this was but just another part of Chiefs being sore losers

Kelce swatted away Nolan’s hand in a similar way… they’re not taking the kingdom crumbling very well.

They also tip the snap count. Just watch Steen. As soon as he turns his head around, you can jump the snap.

I am pretty sure this was the same thing said last year when Becton was here.

Good news there’s a CB worse than adoree

This one too.

I'm not saying this solely about the Eagles. It's league wide. The refs will call the most nitpicky flags and then not call other things. Then they review things and assign fines later (like the Tart slap on Kelce last week which definitely should have been a call in the game). They need to be consistent.

But regarding the Chiefs, the entire world has seen the bias for them in recent years and now that they're losing they're crying about the refs bias against them. They're going offsides against the tush push then crying the Eagles false start. (More reasons they're going to ban it this offseason).

The Chiefs haven't struggled much and don't know how to deal with losing, so they're becoming crybaby whiners. The worst was Chris Jones talking about individual stats when you lost the game.

The one thing I keep thinking about...how is this defense already this solid despite all the offseason losses and 2 rookies playing. Held Dallas to 20 without JC, and held a desperate KC team to 17 on the road. And in both games, there were penalties that extended every TD drive (holding that wiped out sack and BS roughing call yesterday). If we can get competent play at CB2...

And the rookies and new additions are only going to get better as they learn more in the system, as well as returning players that continue to get better in another year in Vic's system. Last year they really hit their stride after the bye. On the defensive side, they review the film and learn what's working and not and make adjustments. They are well coached and prepared.

Why keep score?

Does Barkley's massive new contract now have language in it to block him from doing something like this?

The bias against the tush push is obvious. They don't talk about the offsides, the punching the ball, the things the DEFENSES are doing to try to stop it that also could be injury risks.

They also don't mind people pushing RBs or receivers through the pile to get a 1st down or TD.

They don't care when the Bills or other teams run it and it works because they don't do it as high a success rate as the Eagles. They hate it because it's Philly, and because it's successful most of the time for them.

I was tired of the controversy last year, I hoped they would ban it and the Eagles will still convert on short yardage anyway. I actually think they should change things up and run a regular QB sneak, RB handoff or trick play off it (which they've done a few times) to toss it to Barkley or throw a quick pass (imagine that). Or force the defense into offsides by not moving at all and just let them give them an automatic 1st down.

As opposed to the flex by Smith in the Dallas game. The NFL is just being silly about all this. A spontaneous quick flex is taunting, in celebration after a really nice play. But, a pre-planned choreographed celebration to make fun of an opposing coach is just fun times.

The NFL really needs to get a handle on things.

How was that making fun of Sean Payton? It's the Colts mascots signature move. Hurts even did it to the mascot after a TD a few years ago. He was also facing the crowds which makes a big difference.

I don't see how it's taunting. I know it should have technically been flagged because the ball isn't allowed to be used as a prop in celebrations anymore unless they changed it

They changed it awhile ago. You can use the ball as a prop. You can't spike it at a defender or use it to taunt. Or dunk it over the crossbar. Or do something like punt it and cause a delay in the game.

I had a senior moment... or something. I was thinking it was a different celebration. I was too lazy to click the video and assumed I knew which one it was. Mea culpa.

Rodgers is starting in MN. I don't think they're going to bring him back. I can't imagine why Bennett isn't getting more time.

Prob doesn’t know the playbook yet

  1. Keep Hurts alive, running laterally in a RPO sets him up for big hits whether he tosses or keeps the ball, he's fair game for big hits.

  2. If Hurts get hurt, McKee can't run a RPO (could do the Foles bit, but you'd have to practice that on a regular basis, otherwise OL would be called for downfield all day)

Hurts isn't that quick laterally, he's best North-South where he is elusive and easily breaks arm tackles. Even when he runs outside on scrambles, he's probably more a 4.6 guy now, but he can cut back if needed and has good vision.

I'm all for protecting him and dialing it back, but I'm not sure removing what got them to two SB as a big part of the offense is ideal. That's what makes things go because it isn't him seeing multiple receiving options and stepping up into the pocket to shred a defense. His legs open things up for the run and pass game.

Btw, this guy was the character risk "King Poles” was willing to take a chance on instead of Jalen Carter.

Indeed. Kurt Vonnegut wrote a story, Harrison Bergeron, in which the government enforces a series of handicaps so that everyone is exactly equal. If you’re smart you get static pumped into your brain, strong, you are weighted down, etc. Everyone is exactly equal. There are no competitive advantages. No one can do anything better than anyone else. Tush Push? Outlaw it because we do it better than anyone though anyone can do it. They lied about injuries; now the argument is it’s impossible to referee. Clearly a competitive advantage that we must do away with, just because. But let’s not stop there. Home field advantage? Gotta do away with it? Well, no. How is that different than having a play everybody can run but only the Eagles do it well. Let’s have Super Bowls only on balmy nights in southern climes.

I love the game but the league makes me ill. I’m thrilled to know we beat the Chiefs back in March, per Schefter. Why did we bother playing the game then?

I just rewatched yesterday's game. An Eagle who deserves some criticism is getting overlooked.

On both the wide-open Mahomes miss to Thornton and then on the actual TD bomb to Thornton on the Chiefs' final drive, it appears that Reid Blankenship was the safety with the responsibility to prevent a deep ball. On both plays, Blankenship bit hard -- and I mean hard -- on the play design, choosing to run forward to chase a crossing receiver, thus leaving Thornton wide open for the deep ball. The appealing but incorrect instant reaction was to blame Adoree and Mitchell on those plays, but at least 80% of the fault lies with Blankenship for abandoning his prime responsibility.

Were you in jail the last week bringing that up again now? Congrats on getting bail.

No, sorry man. I just saw it for the first time a few minutes ago on a random website northeast times or something like that...anyway, I wasn't intentionally trying to stir the pot.
