Is it time to call Joe Burrows "injury prone”?

I'm far more confident in the Rams game than Bucs. I don't think the Rams are that great, their defense I don't think is either even though their pass rush is good. Their secondary can be had. If they can't get the passing game going this game, something's wrong. I maintain Eagles blow them out in the playoffs in normal conditions. Should be able to get pressure on Stafford too. But the Bucs in that heat down there, that will be a tough one.

I agree that the Bucs game looks to be tougher than the Rams game but I just watched the Rams-Titans (let's hear it for the Condensed Replay!) and I thought the Rams DBs looked pretty good. The DL is tough - Byron Young in particular, the LBs so so and that kid Nukua is terrific. Reminded me of vintage Deebo.

Hard disagree. Adoree is gonna replace the Michael Jacquet meme

I thought I'd address a couple of criticisms leveled in here against Kevin Patullo, specifically that he doesn't use motion or play action. Some of the same critics spoke of what a great offensive coach Andy Reid is, better than Patullo.

Well.

The Eagles ran play-action three times, the Chiefs twice. The Eagles used motion twenty-two times, the Chiefs twelve.

I'm not saying Patullo is in Reid's class as a play-designer or play caller, far from it. I am saying that these specific criticisms of his plays and calls are wide of the mark.

With Witherspoon out, I will be buying new universal remotes if they don't open up the passing game.

The cope is real

A solid way to defend your QB is to point to their….. (checks notes)…. Low T.

Vikings cheerleaders, however, have some of the highest T levels in the league

@schmoopie

There's a part of me that thinks this Chiefs team might be set up for an epic collapse. Hard to say it with Mahomes and Reid still there, but...

  • That crap by Chris Jones at the end of the game was pathetic

  • Kelce is a shell of himself and should have retired

  • Mahomes isn't really the unquestioned best QB in the league anymore and misses a bunch of throws

  • Reid crying about false starts after the game -- he never did stuff like that before

  • The "Free 4" shirts were an embarrassing look

If I had to bet, I still think they right the ship and make the playoffs with Rice and Worthy coming back. Back the offensive line is terrible -- a rookie, 2 bad players (LG and RT), and 2 all pros who aren't playing well. The defense is still good, but the offense is just completely broken. And the locker room is giving off big loser energy.

Plus...screw Nick Wright.

Eh it's a toe injury. My understanding is this are usually a bit more of a fluke than anything

I still think Mahomes is in a tier by himself. He might just be getting overly sure of himself. He could retire now and get into the hall and he's only 29

What’s Over under on when he asks to be traded? 4.5 years

I saw a stat somewhere, maybe here, but since the chiefs lost Hill, Mahomes has the second lowest air yards. The lowest? Daniel Jones.

Is this the reason Jake is back to kicking from deep again?

Under rules adopted this season, teams received 60 footballs for the season before the start of training camp. Kickers can work those footballs into the shape they want, learning exactly how they will respond. And those footballs are definitely responding.

"The fact you get to kick with the ball in practice is a huge difference,” one coach said. "You are not supposed to use pressure or stand on the ball or put it in a clothes dryer, but how can they tell what you are doing when you get to have the balls at your own facility?”

Chris Jones: you didn't even have 100 yards.

Chiefs social media: our defense held them to lowest output.

This is reaching Micah Parson level of cope.

The replies to the Chiefs original tweet are gold too.

Since Caleb Williams told P Tory Taylor "You're Not Going To Punt Too Much Here" Taylor has punted 92 Times, more than any other player in the NFL.

This is the kind of crap I live for

Why don't all teams use the unstoppable tush push? Do Eag...

The Eagles have converted the tush push 96.6% of the time on fourth-and-1, so why don't all teams use it? Here's why.

Like 90% of the gripes outlined here also apply to QB sneaks in general. This is all so stupid.

He's clearly a 1st ballot HOFer today. But if you asked me who is playing better, right now or over the last 12 months...I'm going to have to say Josh Allen.

Alright, I'm going to just lean into being a broken record here.

Everyone needs to acknowledge that the Eagles offense is built differently. Whether it not it should be built differently was a debate we all had and that I got wrong last year. It carried them to a Lombardi trophy. Whether or not they can sustainably win titles with how different it is...that debate is going to rage on until they irrefutably become a dynasty...and I'm still not sure what my opinion is on that one.

But again, the offense is built into what it is. And we need to evaluate it through that prism. Jalen Hurts is a weapon for this offense. He is not the centerpiece. A traditional offense has their franchise QB and they just put it all on his shoulders. If he has a good game, they probably win. If he has a bad game, they probably lose. Jalen Hurts is another AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, or RB in the rotation. Just like any other weapon, some days he'll go off and other days he's going to be quiet and not contribute much.

But the W/L record is not all on him like it often is on QB's. He's just another weapon for this offense. This offense's franchise QB equivalent is their collective running game. That's what they hang their hat, their game plan, and their chances of winning on. Their running game creates passing opportunities. It's usually the opposite for other teams.

And through 2 weeks, the running game has been merely good. Not even close to sufficiently dominant that an offense built upside down is going to roll the way it's designed to. Jalen Hurts isn't changing. He's not getting the help he's used to on the ground. They need better blocking in the running game.
