Not even close. In the entertainment industry your opponents are everyone else that’s trying to make it at your expense. That’s your competition. You have to compete against them all if you want to be successful.

Agree to disagree. Competition is typically on the same playing field. The competition you are describing typically isn’t.

Id be most interested in a RG. Defense will be good enough as is. Guard trade would save us from having to make an unexciting OL pick.

The whole O line has been under par so far, Mailata is the only one PFF graded over 80 against the Chiefs, nobody else broke 70, as a comparison last year week 1 only Jurgens in his first game at centre failed to break 70. If you want to worry about the O Line, Lane has been significantly below his usual level through the first 2 weeks, like 15points+ below where PFF graded him consistently last year in both games. what was supposed to be a strength is underperforming across the board.

I think they need more game speed football, swapping in another Guard would be a panic move that could derail the line completely.

There’s a guy on YouTube BeardMeatsFood who basically does all the challenges you’ve seen on Man Eats Food but just crushes them easily. He’s like your average 175lb British guy. There’s no way to know for sure if he doesn’t throw up after the fact but he said he basically fasts for three days before doing these completions and just eats small amounts of Greek Yogurt while working out everyday.

Similar stuff with the hot dog guys. There was a documentary about them where they just ate plain iceberg lettuce for a few days before the competition to stretch their stomach but not have calories. I can’t imagine Joey Chestnut can hold down 80 some glizzys though. He probably pukes.

He is definitely not - he's shredded as F.

nobody is desperate at 2-0. Every roster has weaknesses.

Yeah, but if you hit 4-0, then you start to get desperate!

That isn’t competition. Competition includes an opponent or opponents. That is discipline, the kind of discipline Stephen King brings to his writing or Humphrey Bogart brought to his acting.

He has been injured every year except last year.

Sure. All I'm saying is that this injury doesn't move the needle for me. It's like a fractured collar bone. Maybe put it on the OL if you want but generally it's a fluke injury.

Agree on OL but i think it the lack of preseason play and some dinged up guys

Also dal and kc sold Out to stop the run and blitz. Would think that would impact any OL score but pff is garbage anyway

In week 2 last year (vs the falcons) our O-line grades were:

Mailata 80.3

Lane Johnson 73.1

Becton 70.2

Jurgens 68.6

Dickerson 66.9

In week 3, both Jurgens and Dickerson were below 70

in week 4:

Mailata 79.9

Jurgens 68.9

Becton 61.1

Dickerson 58.7

Fred Johnson 43.6

The thing you have to remember about PFF grades is 60-70 is a solid performance. 70-80 is good to really good. Anything over 80 is exceptional. Games in the 60s are not a big concern. Consistently being below 60 would be a concern.

With all this talk about the OL and Steen, I have to say, I told you so. Frankly, I think Steen has played pretty well, but Becton was a beast.

The Iron Sheikhs account on X was entertaining, right to the end. A lot of it is NSFW, but his commitment to calling Hulk Hogan different types of jabronis never failed to entertain.

Pam has had health issues and her speech is affected. She's had debilitating migraines and some surgeries, as a result she's had I think some brain damage that affects her speech. Fans have thought she had a stroke because the symptoms appear similar. She has powered through it and showed up to do her job. Every year someone thinks she's drunk when they don't know her condition. It's become a running joke on these boards in the GDT.

Oliver's style changed the moment she was overlooked for the promotion to the number 1 sideline reporter job a number of years ago. I have sympathy for her health conditions, but she gives off a vibe that is the MVP for her role.

How is becton is SD?

As long as steen plays ok then the cost savings were the logical decision

I'm okay with a narrow definition, but it should be applied equally.

hmmm, craziest thing i ever seen in wrestling?

we went to see ECW one time and my friend took his kid. there was a six man tag team match between the FBI & some other team, can't remember who. either way at some point, big guido tossed someone out of the ring and they landed in our seats and onto the concrete floor.

I said this a couple weeks back he looked out of shape as compared to when he was here. Still feel there’s a chance with how his contract is set up that if he didn’t play like he did here that could wind up being a FA next offseason and return here. Tbh the chargers running game has been awful. Haven’t watched their all 22 to say it’s on OL or Hampton/harris. But their Hampton has a 3.1 yards per carry and Harris 3.7

Why not? Is Track and Field a sport?

After two games, I'm pretty pleased with the pass blocking. The Chiefs were bringing the house and for the most part did not get home unless they sent more rushers than we had blockers.

I think the run blocking is slowly rounding into form and I was surprised Saquon didn't rip off one of his long runs. He was getting close.

I have a feeling Saquon is about to terrorize the Rams again.

They will 100% bring a ton of pressure like Dallas and KC.

they starters went 2-0 in the preseason.

Could also have to do with no play action/no motion - vanilla offense/conservative play calling.

It’s a lot harder to both pass block and run block when the defense knows what’s coming.
