Now Schrager with another sound byte on ESPN: "it's not aesthetically pleasing, it's not how we want to watch the game"

The play has become a spectacle and generates a ton of buzz for the league.

I've said it so many times, if the NFL wasn't selling football they'd be out of business. They're so stupid

The NFL now owns 10% of ESPN and is exerting its influence. Greenberg has always been a clown, but Schefter and Schrager were once honest reporters and good at their jobs. Now they are all glorified mouthpieces for Goodell. And the NFL wants this gone because Roger wants the KC Swifites in the Super Bowl to continue expanding the female audience. So we will be punished for ruining the 3-peat and now beating them in week 2.

The teams he loves suck at it or he'd be doing the same thing. He wouldn't be so against it if it was the Chiefs, Cowboys, or Rams.

They love when QBs like Mahomes do "basketball moves" like a jump shot type pass. Or side arm passes, shovel passes, the Chiefs danced around in a circle coming out of the huddle. There are all sorts of trick plays. But they will cry that the tush push isn't "real football" and is too much like rugby. Which is dumb. RBs and receivers get pushed over the line as well.

If you aren’t up watching this Phillies/dodgers game you missed an absolutely crazy game

I might check it out later... I do enjoy my DVR. Trouble is, I won't be home until the next game starts. And then I will be super exhausted and ready for bed. sad

If Nick were to come out and run it as the 1st play this week against the Rams, the Linc would explode and I think the players would love it. Steer into the Us vs. The NFL bit all season.

Somehow I totally forgot about that. So yeah, it isn't even really a conspiracy it's just what's happening.

i mean, does he love the cowboys any longer? making them open up at the linc after an eagles SB win is kind of savage.

Schefter came across as league shill; parroting whatever Uncle Rog told him to, so that people would turn against the play., in the hope they can ban it

No nuance or subtleness was present, and any reaction is entirely justified when the league turns a blind eye to other issues

He's not alone. Everyone is a shill now. I started logging what reporters have said about specific teams(namely NY, LA teams, and Boston teams to a lesser extent) across the different sports and the amount of garbage propaganda that is out there is laughable. That's all the national media does now is shill for the biggest markets. They've all sold their souls.

Bucky Brooks declaring a guy who has been to a Super Bowl and dominated is "Can he win the big one?"

And Nick Sirianni being ranked behind Brian Daboll as head coach in the NFC East.

Now let's take a look at how the media talks about NY, LA, and Boston teams.

This is ESPN dedicating an entire day to one team.

It's a shame they had to name the move after him. The guy he's doing it to is the one doing all the work on this one.

The face flop or the heel hop... not sure who Stone Cold Steve Austin is stunning there but he earned his money.

Why not? Is Track and Field a sport?

Sport is defined by 5 elements for me:

1 - Athletic ability, human powered locomotion (this eliminates NASCAR)

2 - Offense - you need to do something in order to 'score'.

3 - Defense - you need to be able to do something in order to stop your opponent from 'scoring'.

4 - Objective scoring zone.

5 - Requires a 'ball' type object to be utlitized.

(Given the recent discussion of 'pro wrestling', I suppose I need to add 'unscripted' to the list.)

Chess, spelling bees, cheerleading competitions, gymnastics, swimming, sprints, field events, etc. do not qualify by my definition.

Long distance races could qualify, I suppose, as the runners can shield other runners, but sprints where you have to stay in your lane eliminates the defensive component.

So I see the new thing is everyone crying that watching the Eagles is boring, and they need to pass more to be more entertaining. It's just awesome how much we live in the heads of every under 40 football "fan" who is really just some fantasy football playing loser who measures everything by stats.

I will never understand why rebuilding teams spend a high pick and mucho bucks on a QB before they build a top ten offensive line.

You can cover for mediocre WRs with a short passing game (see AR in the 2000s), but if you can't protect a young QB, kiss your investment goodbye.

The second thing I don't understand is why teams don't "red shirt" young QBs before throwing them into the fire, Peyton survived, but most don't.

Part of the reason is that when you get a top ten OL, you automatically get better, even with a mediocre QB, and then you are out of range for a top QB in the draft.

Red shirting is risky, because the leash is so short for HCs and GMs nowadays. They don't have the luxury of waiting 2 years for the young QB to 'develop'.

Yeah, good point, but the ratings for that game were massive. Yeah, we are the champs and people are jumping on the bandwagon, but there are so many idiot Cowboy fans all across the country. Probably in part because if you walk into a store that sells NFL stuff they will have Raiders, Steelers, and Cowboys options.

Anyone that claims that the Brotherly Shove is not football, ignores the first fifty years of American Football.

I would be for that

1st and 10 and Nick has them lined up for the sneak

Making it a fake sneak and Barkley rushes off to a long TD would be icing on the cake to me though lol

There was a time they argued against adding the forward pass because it wasn't real football. Crazy.

I don’t know who this moron is nor do I find much worth in social media’s any idiot with a Mike deserves to be heard. He just watched a game pitting two of the top defenses in the NFL play that included two of the best defensive play callers. Guess he doesn’t like strong defenses in football. Pathetic loser titles himself as a ninja. At least on social media, I equate to a fat old rooster. Mine is more realistic.
